I’ve taken Citracal for many years. I found the standard sized tablets hard to swallow, discovered taking 2 “petites” daily: one in the AM, one in the PM go down easier. But, best of all: ain my ‘80’s I am stillOstio-Premi! Just be sure to balance with foods including calcium each day. Yogurt, ice cream, etc.

The label indicates they are petite. They are not petite. My 90 year mother did not even want to try.So I do not recommend the product. Waste of money. I went back to the store. There was only 1 person working there were 2 people in front of me with full baskets and trouble with CVS card. I did not have time to wait on them had another appointment. I may try again.

I bought the original Citracal believing it was calcium citrate due to the name. After lots of digestive problems I discovered it was mostly calcium carbonate! I found this, which is in fact calcium citrate. However, digestive issues have not improved. These are smaller than the others but not by much, and they're 200mg calcium instead of 600mg, so you have to take more pills. But at least I don't choke on them.

Citracal has always been the most trustworthy calcium product ever! I must take calcium; however, due to a digestion issue my doctor strongly recommended a Calcium CITRATE supplement and not a Calcium Carbonate. Carbonate can cause similar side effects has carbonation. My previous doctor had not informed me of this and when I switched to Carbonate, it made a huge difference! I have always bought Citracal which was the first brand to offer calcium with carbonate.
I wish cvs would stock this product better. I had to go to different stores before I could find it. Perhaps I am just talking to a computer and wasting my time. There are no people left to talk with or care what we need
I like these vitamins because they are lower dose, hence the name petite. I really wish people would educate themselves on things before leaving reviews that are not accurate. These vitamins are stated as petite NOT because of SIZE, but of potency! Taking a few minutes to research would go a long way.
I just finished my stock of Petites and purchased a new bottle. I'm totally disappointed that now the petites are almost as big a regular calcium pills. What happened to the little pillow shaped tablets??? They were the perfect size. Might as well buy the generic now.
This product should NOT be listed as Petites. These Citracal Calcium oval tablets are LARGE if you compare them to the Nature Made Petites, which truly are smaller than the normal large size of a calcium pill. The Citracal Petite MIGHT be slightly narrower than a normal calcium, but not by much. The Nature Brand Calcium Petites, that you can’t get right now, are a much smaller oval and also have a much shinier coating, making them MUCH easier to swallow....but, who knows when those will be available again!
200 caplets. Easy enough for me to swallow. BUT: 2 caplets per serving are only 400 mg of calcium. My doctor says I need 1200 mg. Then I realized the label actually says I must take 1 serving twice (2 X) daily. That's 4 caplets a day. That's still only 800 mg, so I would need to supplement with more calcium from foods or pills. I can do better than that elsewhere.
I really am VERY happy with this Citracal find! I have such a hard time swallowing big vitamins that it makes me tend to not take them. I have tried several calcium/D in different varieties; chewy chocolates, caramels, hard chew berry flavor which is kindof like chalk, other bigger ones. This one is kind of long but it is narrow and I can take it with water and even have it in my mouth ahead of time. I am very good about taking it daily now.
