One of CK's flagship unisex scents, this stuff instantly takes me back to high school. It's bright yet not too overpowering. There's a ton of aromatics like lavender, grass notes and juniper on top of a base of cedar, amber, and musk. It's a unique and pleasant profile, but it has sadly been reformulated over the years. The projection is decent, but the longevity is quite poor now and it only lasts a few short hours, even if applied to clothes. It's definitely a beloved and nostalgic scent for me, but I wish it lasted like it used to.

For all the newbies out there ( or if you have been living under a rock for the past 30 years) let me tell you something about this perfume. Way before all the gender fluidity/pronouns, etc. there was a company named Calvin Klein that launched a risky, daring and provocative new fragrance. Ck one. The ads portrayed all types of people, all skin tones, body shapes, male, female, androgynous, etc. it was a breakthrough. So, yes, this fragrance earned its iconic status. Back to the fragrance. It’s unisex, citrus opening, clean, easy to wear, mostly for daytime and good for work. The notes are citrus, green, musk, light woods, a bit of violet leaves, orris root.

I don’t wear this fragrance often but when I do, I enjoy wearing it. I love the citrus, powdery and floral scent it has. I definitely get the top notes of pineapple, mandarin orange, lemon, etc. that Fragrantica.com says it has. I also get the floral notes after a bit. This fragrance is neither too masculine or too feminine. It’s a bit in the middle which is great. After wearing it for some days I definitely will wear it more frequently than I did.

Naturally I was drawn to the words “free” and “perfume”. So I pounced onto the website, abandoning my assignments. I purchased several items and this perfume came too (of course you had to spend over £20). The packaging is sleek, slim and simple. Nothing overly fancy, which resonates with the brand. The bottle itself has this matte feel to it, reminds me of those olden days alcohol bottles. I remember having this down as a contender during Christmas, but then I opted for the Diesel perfume. I wasn’t aware the CK perfume had this separate spraying nozzle. From my experience these tend to be really flimsy after a few uses. Calvin Klein CK One was the bomb when I started wearing it in my younger years. For reference I’m in my Thirty’s. Like you weren’t cool if you didn’t wear it. It’s a little masculine in my opinion but beautiful. It’s a youthful, fun fragrance that reminds me of my youth. I can’t count the number of bottles of this I purchased. I still purchase CK fragrances to this day. I currently have the Eternity for women but plan on purchasing more CK 1 now that it’s been brought up. It’s a really good fragrance that I recommend.

Great follow up scent

When Be was launched I was a little concerned. I thought it couldn't be as good as CK One. I was wrong. This is a deeper more musky fragrance and has been in my collection for many years. I keep it for Autumn/Winter so the larger sizes don't need replacing often. Although unisex I would say that it leans to the masculine side. This is because of the musk and woods elements. Having said that I've never been discouraged from wearing men's scents if I really like them. It's a beautiful scent and lasts for hours on my skin. Quite sultry and warming base and top notes. A definite winner.

I discovered CK1 when they did a deal to sell to Tower Records Chain!! Discover It Now!

I was a 2-3 x a week shopper at Tower Records in Southern California. One day around 1995-96 they had a new display up by the registers of CK1. (The Tower chain had never sold to my knowledge perfume or colognes before) I instantly became enamored, energized with my first smell from the Sample Bottle that day. I bought the largest bottle available that day and became a devoted consumer for life. From then on for years whenever I walked into any Tower Store the very first thing I always noticed was how really good the whole store smelled as it was such a contrast of before CK1 and then after CK1 appeared.
