I received a 7 day sample supply of Clarins Double Serum, a dual formula that is mixed together before applying to your face. As an avid facial serum user, typically true results can be determined after a reasonable length of time using the product. In this case, I cannot be sure that 7 days is a fair enough time to truly judge the effectiveness, so my review can only be based on what I was given for a 7 day course. Before discussing the product itself, I would like to address the sample packaging because I believe it played into how well the product worked…or, perhaps more importantly, why it may not have worked as well as it should have. This serum formula contains two liquids, which need to be mixed together before applying. The sample card had each type of serum in a separate compartment on the flat (credit card sized) card, which had to be folded in half to open. You then pressed on each compartment upward to release the serums. I dispensed it on the back of my hand, and then mixed the two together before applying. Unfortunately, there seemed to be much more of the amber colored serum (the part of the formula which contains turmeric) and much less of the clear serum in the second compartment. This made it very difficult to know if I was dispensing the correct balance of the two. I think it would’ve been much easier and more accurate if each of the serum components came in individual vials as opposed to the packaging it did. Additionally, I hoped to be able to use the product morning and evening, but found that I really only had enough to cover my face once, so this review is based on my using it in my nighttime routine only. Onto the product itself….it goes on as one would expect a slightly oily serum to apply - somewhat tacky, but with a little time, absorbing nicely into the skin. I did like how my skin felt after applying, very soft and hydrated. I have extremely dry skin, so this was a formula that my skin took to very well.  The product claims are that it is anti-aging, formulated with potent plant extracts, and promises visibly firmer, smoother, more radiant skin in 7 days. As an older woman with appropriately aging skin, I certainly welcomed all of those benefits! Did I feel it lived up to the claims? Honestly, hard to tell in 7 days , but it has potential.  Slightly smoother, and a tiny bit more radiant, yes.  Visibly firmer? Nothing noticeable, at least not in such a short timeframe. It did feel comforting on the skin which I liked a lot, but I truly would have loved a longer trial period and a bit more product so I could have given it a proper and thorough review. Facial serums can be pricey, and this one is no exception - my advice is to try to obtain samples before committing to a purchase and then decide for yourself if this one stands out among the others in the skin serum space.

Anyway, at some point in your life, maybe you (or somone you know) may have come across a tiny perfume sample in a .05 mL glass vial attached inside a piece of folded paper with a small clip? Well, the serum came in something of similar size; except there was no glass tube. The serum was made up of two separate silk like liquid substances, one next to the other, but both sealed up. I folded the top over to break it open, and turned it upside down. I had to squeeze the packet a little bit to get all of the Clarins serum out. The directions said to mix the two together in my hands for a few seconds until it feels warm, apply it to my face once it's cleansed and dried, leaving it on. I immediately notice a floral-like scent, and there was enough to cover my whole face and neck. It didn't leave any sticky residue on my hands afterward either. The serum definitely had my skin feeling as smooth as silk, and surprisingly slightly firmer after just the first application. If it was morning, I was able to apply my makeup over the serum, as if it were a primer, and/or it can be applied at night, before bed as well. I can honestly say this product is well worth the slightly expensive asking price. It did everything it said it would; just not as much as I would have liked, and it didn't completelyget rid of my dark under eye circles, but it lightened them up significanly enough, that I only needed to apply just a little bit of concealer (much less than I normally use). Remember, I only used it for 7 days. However, when I used the Clarins Double Serum with the Total Eye Lift, my dark circles almost completely disappeared!

When mixing both the clear and amber colored components I first thought that it wouldn’t be enough to cover my face but I was wrong. It not only covered my face, but also my neck. The serum feels light once applied, there is a slightly odd sensation (as though I had been sitting in the sun) a sun kissed feeling. 🍀I can continue to smell the soapy scent for about hours later and the serum sets sort of dewy so my skin looks hydrated. After a full day, my face feels kind of nasty…. To the touch, it’s super soft but really oily, my face physically feels as though I have been eating a fried pastry and the oil has spread around my face. If you have normal to oily skin, I would avoid a moisturizer, after this application. I am also not confident that makeup will perform well over this amount of oiliness. I really have the desire to just wash it all off….I do not like the dirty oily feeling. 🍀Aside from the oily feeling the serum actually makes my skin look oily (it is just so shiny) and after day two and three nothing has changed. My face looks exactly the same and the oiliness continues. 🍀On day four to seven my skin begins to absorb the product more, the oily feeling isn’t felt as much, and before and after washes my skin feels amazing. There is no visible change in my skin but it is really soft, hydrated, and not reacting in any negative way to the formula. Maybe I just need more time then others, I also noted that the previous sun kissed, and heated sensation have now become more of a firming sensation (it just took some time). 🍀Lastly, if you wear makeup daily I suggest beginning your routine at night for the first four to five days. This will allow your skin time to adjust and learn to absorb this product. Once your skin begins absorbing it, and looks dewy and not oily, makeup applies perfectly over it and does not separate. Any questions are welcome, I do intend on purchasing this product to see what further use will result in.

They recommend 7 days to see and feel the difference, honestly it was less than 24 hours I noticed the difference in my skin. So why not try something that is going to work and see the difference than wasting time and money on products that don’t. Within this short time since starting this serum the spot is NO JOKE already fading considerably I wouldn't believe it if someone told me, but I can see it with my own eyes and my fiance can too. Honestly, why spend 140 or whatever on a bottle of C serum if this does the exact same thing Especially considering the fact that Ascorbic Acid is unstable and cant be used for more than a few months before oxidizing anyway. I'm not strapped for cash but honestly I also really appreciate seeing a company make quality and EFFECTIVE skincare accessible for everyone. Taking care of your skin shouldn't be something only high earners can do. This brand literally has drugstore prices with clinical strength results. I have no doubt with continued use I will reap even more benefits of this product. Vitamin C is a musthave and I will be getting mine from Timeless from here on out

While 7 days is definitely not realistic enough to see the potential benefits of this serum, I can give my overall first impressions of this product. Each sample packet is a generous amount to saturate my whole face without feeling like I am lacking in serum. The formalization is interesting, as it's a two part serum that combines and is meant to be mixed together before applying to the skin. It is supposed to be 1/3 oil to 2/3 water ratio when dispensed. It was slightly tricky to know if I was squeezing out the right proportion of product and the consistency was very watery and could easily run down my hand before mixing. It's has anti aging properties formulatedwith 21 plant extracts, which is geared towards targeting firming and reducing wrinkles, smoothing and hydrating, as well as minimizing pore size. I currently don't feel like I have any major issues with the wrinkles and pore size so I can't say I saw any difference. When applying, it has a slightly lightweight greasy feel and seems to take a few minutes to dry. I used this at night before going to bed, and it gave me a slight sticky feel when pressed on the pillow which I don't really like. What I do like is the hydration and softer skin texture the morning after so it's tough for me to say if it is worth the application. The pricepoint is on the higher side, but for an anti aging product it could be worth the investment in your skin. I think the full sized would be more effective in its delivery system to see truer results.

I honestly do really enjoy how it feels on my skin and it absolutely provides the hydration that my dry skin appreciates. The packaging feels luxe and the product itself is conveniently dispensed through a pump top. The serum feels substantial without being cloyingly heavy and it somehow sinks into the skin but yet manages to still create almost a pillowy veil of moisture over the skin's surface.Clearly I really do like using this. However, despite all of its good qualities I still don't see any kind of lasting, long-term, anti-aging benefits from using this. The results, though delightful, are temporary and for the high price tag it may not be "worth it" to a lot of people. Would I purchase it at a discounted price or during a sale? Possibly. However, for my myself I don't think I could justify purchasing it at its full retail value.
