I bought a pair in Cola colour to replace my exact same which after years of use had reached their end. The new pair is not made on the same cast, even though a "G" fit, my foot feels squashed in the shoe, the actual cut of the boot finishes higher, all-in-all disappointing. I am now going to try and have them stretched, but they will never feel like the pair I am replacing which did feel like a glove from Day 1. Sadly, it seems quality has been sacrificed in the name of profits... (PS: if I had not worn them I would have returned. I so regret buying these)

I bought these boots in Beeswax for my boyfriend for Christmas and he has worn them every day since he opened them! He wears a size 9 in dress shoes, size 10 in tennis shoes. I got him the size 9 and they fit perfectly. He commented that the M width initially felt snug, but after wearing them for some time he noticed that the leather relaxes and molds to his feet. These shoes are versatile enough to wear for multiple occasions- casual, business casual, dressy casual. I recommend wearing with slim fit jeans/pants, but they also look good with boot cut and straight leg pants. The leather is high quality and the boot seems sturdy and durable. I'm sure when these wear out (hopefully not for several years) my boyfriend will be wanting another pair!

After owning a pair in the past and having tried on multiple sizes of Desert Boots, it seems that the fit has changed. One way to tell the boots have changed is by comparing the insoles (they look different from ones in past years). The new fit is more true to size, but the narrowness is still there. I went up 1/2 size, but doing so made the ankle area a bit loose. The 10 1/2 I bought fits like a 10 in the old sizing. Before settling on the 10 1/2, I tried a 10 in the new sizing but it was unbearably narrow. For reference, I measure a 10D/E on the Brannock device. Everyone's feet are different, and I would recommend to try the boots on in person before purchasing, and not necessarily following the "1/2 size down" mantra. I have worn Clarks original crepe sole desert boots since the early 1960s continuously (when not suited for work or in bed!) and was a little nervous about the 'change to G fit'. The last pairs I bought about 5 years ago were (standard) 'F' fit which should be narrower than the 'G'. The new G appears to be exactly the same as the previous 'F' of which I still have one unused pair. When offered up sole to sole the new 'G' is maybe a millimeter or two narrower on one foot. To check the new 'G' s, and before buying more, I immediately started wearing one of the new pairs and, after the usual tightness until worn in, they have proved indistinguishable in fit from the previous purchases. The inside heel material has changed and the heel shape has opened up very slightly ... MoreI have worn Clarks original crepe sole desert boots since the early 1960s continuously (when not suited for work or in bed!) and was a little nervous about the 'change to G fit'. The inside heel material has changed and the heel shape has opened up very slightly so they are a little more slippy on the heel in some cases, but they never were a tight heel fit. I am so relieved I can still get these - about 15 years ago they became extremely difficult to find. Well done Clarks - keep 'em coming!
The original Desert boots are great, but the gum soles collect a lot of dirt and my morning walk across campus every day is through dirty parking lots. These have a rubber sole and are easy to wipe on mats. They stay much cleaner on the sole and the rubber is very durable. To me, it's a huge improvement over the traditional crepe / gum and they still look and feel very high-quality.
I have had a pair of Clarks desert boots in my wardrobe for over 50 years, ever since my student days,(obviously not the same pair!), and they have always been Clarks. They look good with a range of clothes from casual to more formal. They are day long comfortable and they wear extremely well. I'm not about to change the habit of a lifetime.
Lovely boots but had to return them. Too tight across the top of the foot making getting them on and off a bit of a bind. Was asked if I wanted to order them in a wider fit, but I know wide are too wide for me. It’s not the width of the shoe - it’s the ‘neck’ where you have to get your foot in and out. Shame!
I bought these for a trip to Jordan which included a couple of days in the desert. I broke them in walking around the house and then outdoors (on the street and beach) for a month (they were a little narrow at first and now fit well). They are most comfortable walking on the sand, though worked well for walking through the airport, too. In the desert, while others were dumping sand out of sneakers and hiking shoes, my feet were grit-free. All of this and they are great looking!
An iconic classic that should never go away. This purchase was merely a replacement pair for my brother who wears them most days with his casual narrow pant leg corduroy/ denim/chino wardrobe. He wore down his last pair--they are now good for taking out the trash;-). He is hard on shoes, and the last brown pair lasted over a year of constant wear and a great deal of walking. He loves the brown for winter. The matching sole adds to the elongated look. I wish all the crepe soles would match the upper. Next pair will be one of the lighter colors, oak or tan, to add to the beloved dark brown he always has in his wardrobe.A great look for a practical product..What more is there to say. A classic is timeless, and for a good reason. He takes a 10.5 and has relatively ... MoreAn iconic classic that should never go away.
