I love this protein bar. Tastes MUCH better than all the others I’ve tried. Doesn’t taste like protein at all. Has a thick layer of chocolate plus another thick layer of crunch, perfect texture combo. Mixed chocolate and mint so well, the mint isn’t too overpowering. Almost tastes like a thin mint. If I eat a whole one it’s filling, half of one is the perfect treat. I like to throw them in the fridge. 10/10

Oh my!! I’ve not tasted the other bars but this one is yummy! Usually protein bars leave a bad after taste and rarely help me feel full. These bars are large. You can easily eat half and have the other half later. That would help distribute the calories and macros. Yes, the sugar is 17g for the whole bar. It does contain cane syrup, cane sugar, brown rice syrup. Something to consider if you need to have lower sugar. It also has 31g of carbs. Also something else to consider with how you are eating. For me this bar meets all my needs and leaves me satisfied. For someone that is an emotional eater the taste and texture help me feel as if I’m having something naughty while getting in protein. The bottom is like chocolate rice crispies and top is chewy.

Finding the right mix of ingredients and nutrition is tough. For those of us who are athletes with health conditions it’s even more difficult. This product works for me. No matter if I’m cycling or backpacking it gets the job done without too much gut filling but with enough protein and carbs to keep my body running. The chocolate is delicious too with a super taste and texture. I highly recommend it.

I've had other protein bars before and usually they have the same problem; I'm still left wanting more after I'm done. The bars I've had have always been kind of small, about the size of a snickers bar but the Clif Builders Protein bar is not like that at all. It's wide and full and when I hold in my hand, it just feels solid. After my workout today, I was pretty hungry and when I grabbed the Clif bar, I tore open the packaging and it opened easily. I took a quick bite and it was both crunchy and chewy. It had a great texture where it did not feel mush but after taking a bite, it did not dissolve in my mouth quickly which gave me the feeling that it was worth the price. The minty taste was refreshing and cooling after a hard workout. Overall, it was a fantastic bar.
generally really like Clif Bars, but I usually eat the Builder's Protein variety. I do love filled bars, so I was excited to try out this product as part of a Vox Box, but it ended up falling short of my expectations. I frequently eat Nature Valley Soft Baked Filled Squares, which are ridiculously delicious, and Clif Nut Butter Filled Bars were inferior to the Nature Valley bars in pretty much every way. The texture was kind of strange and grainy. There was a really odd scent to the Chocolate Hazelnut Butter flavor, and it definitely didn't smell like chocolate or hazelnut, so I'm not sure what would have caused that. The taste actually didn't remind me much of chocolate or hazelnut either! It was pretty dry and bland. Other reviews are really positive for these, so ... Moregenerally really like Clif Bars, but I usually eat the Builder's Protein variety. I have mixed feelings about this protein bar. I’ve been eating these for years but they keep raising the price. It’s about $3-$4 over what I used to pay per box just a few years ago. I like them but they are super sweet and like eating a candy bar and I can’t seem to eat a whole one in one sitting. For these reasons I find I’m buying them less and less. It’s a shame because I’ve enjoyed them and usually feel a bit of an uplift from them. Just not sure they’re worth the price anymore.
Pros:=====================1) Despite having 20 grams of protein, these Clif Builders bars taste far better than most protein bars I'm used to - none of that chalky, cardboard-ish taste that's classic in Pure Protein or even Quest Bars.2) Chocolate Mint is an accurate name and pretty tasty. I'm not normally into mint unless it's gum/mouthwash, but this was evenly balance and not overpowering/artificial.3) Love the new branding. I feel like I'd be far more likely to pick this protein bar out of a grocery shelf selection, especially compared to Clif's older design (not bad; just was a bit outdated).4) There is a decent amount of fiber and vitamins/minerals on top of the protein macro.5) Organic is always good.Cons:=====================1) The packaging ... MorePros:=====================1) Despite having 20 grams of protein, these Clif Builders bars taste far better than most protein bars I'm used to - none of that chalky, cardboard-ish taste that's classic in Pure Protein or even Quest Bars.2) Chocolate Mint is an accurate name and pretty tasty. As a diabetic, this can be a deal breaker if I'm trying to choose between two bars and my blood sugar is already high.2) I prefer a low-calorie diet, and 280 calories seems like it's on the high side for a 20-gram protein bar (compared to something like Optimum Nutrition's 24-gram protein shakes at 120 calories).3) The saturated fat macro is incredibly high (29% of daily value from one bar!)General Opinion:=====================I will probably try other flavors in the future... Good to have on hand for a quick recovery/blood sugar elevation when low!
I used to love these bars over ten years ago, but they don’t seem to taste the same as I remember. What I hate about all clif bars now is that they put inulin aka chicory root fiber in them now, which turns my digestive system into an over inflated balloon that constantly needs to depressurize every ten minutes or so. They say your body gets used to inulin over time, but not so. In the past five years or so, a lot of our family’s favorite snack foods (granola, cereal, bars, even bread) have switched to including this awful fiber in their ingredients list. The only time I can now eat any clif bar, the Builders included, is in the morning on an empty stomach and wait to eat later in the morning when my stomach growls. Even then it is not guaranteed that I won’t have ... MoreI used to love these bars over ten years ago, but they don’t seem to taste the same as I remember. The only time I can now eat any clif bar, the Builders included, is in the morning on an empty stomach and wait to eat later in the morning when my stomach growls. Even then it is not guaranteed that I won’t have problems. Clif bar used to use oat fiber which in my opinion is a more “natural” fiber. I wish there was some grass roots movement to ban this awful fiber from sneaking into our foods. The stuff makes you feel miserable most of the day after you have started digesting it, but that issue is never discussed because it is “beneficial” to the body in so many other ways. But if I’m not feeling good in my gut, I don’t care what good the fiber does in other areas. No wonder there is so much more IBS and other variations out there, I started to think that’s what my problem was, until I started doing a little of my own research regarding this so called “beneficial” fiber. Take it out!
I first off love the packaging, it stands out and will be easy to find. I love the size of this protein bar. The chocolate on the outside was creamy and nice then you get to the yummy center. It has a bit of a crunchy texture that isn't too much of a crunch but just perfect. The mint is perfectly blended in, not too minty just right. This whole bar tasted like a candy bar, but healthier. No bland, chalky taste like that of other protein bars I have tried in the past. I love that it has 20 grams or protein which is a perfect amount for your body to absorb. I enjoyed mine after my workout and I was held off until my 3 hour mark rolled around for me to enjoy my next meal. I had energy, and didn't feel weak as if I were missing something. I have recommended the Clif Bar Builders Chocolate Mint already and reccomend everyone else give it a try also. I can't wait to try the other flavors.
These are good. It’s hard to find plant based protein bars that are actually high in protein, and also taste nice. These are 20g each while most bars max out at 10 or 12g. They have crispy puffs inside which add a nice texture. The mint chocolate is nice - not artificial. You could easily treat one of these bars as a meal replacer, or else use as a substantial snack before/after weight workouts.
