I'm Canadian and ex- military. I have camped in Algonquin. Craigleith, Cyprus Lake, Maintoulin Island, Owen Sound, Meaford, Earlton, (Just to name a few places) and this is just in Ontario Canada. I've been camping in other provinces and countries as well and I have had many Coleman tents. The one before the Coleman European cabin tent, was a New Coleman Atmospheric tent. It was a fantastic tent, but boy inflating it was a lot of work for an older person on a hot day :) So we bought this tent and we love it. High winds, and steady downpours, not an issue, and not a drop of water in the tent on several trips. This tent is spacious, well waterproofed and a breeze to set up. Great design but terrible follow through. I have gone through 2 of these in less than a year. First time using the first one 2 of the 3 primary poles broke and cut a hole in the fly when they snapped. Not even a windy day. Took it back and exchanged it for a new one because I really like the design, headroom, vestibule, and overall functionality. Took the replacement out and all 3 of the primary poles broke the first night putting yet another hole in the rain fly. At this point I still trust coleman as a company but feel I got 2 from a bad batch of these tents. Think I will try a different model now instead.

I liked this tent. The vestibule was awesome, and tent was roomy. Set up by myself and wasn't too bad with no wind, but the tent is big and would recommend a 2 people.Rained on my first use. ~70 Fahrenheit and very humid outside. The tent did get a bit stuffy, but it has decent ventilation. You can open the front vestibule and get air from the front (porch area remained dry) and the rear windows can be unzipped halfway, plus a rear bottom vent. The tent did leak a bit. With light rain, I saw no leak, but when it started raining moderately the rear bottom corners had a small drip leak. I think basically the stitching at these corners was a bit loose and was allowing a small drip. It was manageable to keep dry with a towel for a couple hours. Will seam seal the corners and I imagine this tent will work well for some time.

I bought this tent last year from Canadian Tire. Inside is spacious to sleep; can easily fit 4 people. There is enough room to stand and windows are large. The porch is small as compared to inside. It can barely fit a chair. So it is more so keep your gear and other stuff. I have used in rain (not heavy) and there were no leaks so far. It takes time to set up, but after a few trips, you can reduce the time. But since the foot print is large, it still takes a bit of time. The 4 star is because of the quality of material. I can tell it will rip where the zippers are. I am very careful when I open and close the tent. Otherwise it is a good tent.
I HATE how so many tents have the solid coverings to the windows on the outside - perverts dream. I should be able to close my windows for privacy, safety or weather without going outside. This tent has 3 huge windows and easy to use zipper closures inside the tent with 3 toggles across the top of each window to prevent the window fabric gapping. CHECK!Why have a porch w/o a floor - bugs, snakes, spiders, etc - and many porch screens are sloped so the rain can easily come in and flood the covered porch area w/ or w/o a floor. This tent has a wonderful rain fly that covers the entirety of the porch and the porch itself has a drain of screen along the back. CHECK!And speaking of the porch - It easily fits two lawn chairs and a small table to sit and enjoy the view ... MoreI HATE how so many tents have the solid coverings to the windows on the outside - perverts dream. BONUS!I really prefer help setting it up and taking it down BUT that being said it can be done in about 30 minutes by one person. I'm a later middle aged woman so it'll be under 30 minutes if your knees are spry and your back is nimble. CHECK!I may sell this one and go up to a 6 person - why? Because I like a tent to be a bit spacious like I am living in a van not my car. But I may not, time will tell.Used several times this past summer (5 - 7 day stretches) and LOVE it other than wishing it had a couple more feet of space for me and my stuff. I'm counting on next summer being the same. I like to leave my suitcase open on the floor for the week, an oscillating fan - electric or battery powered, and my journaling bag on the floor too plus my mattress. I spread out a little and don't like it too compact. This tent allows that.No holes or pulls in the bug screen. All poles and cords accounted for. I'll invest in heavy duty stakes next summer because every place I camped had different soil and next summer should be a beach trip so I'll need good deep sand stakes too but I look forward to my Coleman being my home away from home.
So far this tent has been used once, but in pretty extreme conditions. Four night trip in Wyoming, rained about 70% of the trip with winds close to the tent's maximum, and to top it off, it was in a location that did not allow us to stake down a single corner of the tent (very rocky location) We lined the inner edge of the tent with rocks and tied the rainfly's guylines to some large rocks. The tent stayed dry and held up very well. Was worried about the tent floor due to the jagged rocks we used inside the tent. The floor held up great with no tears or holes. It was not an easy setup or take down, but that was due to high wind and freezing rain and hail more than the tent itself. Was able to set it up in the back yard under more ideal conditions by myself (a very ... MoreSo far this tent has been used once, but in pretty extreme conditions. I am very pleased with what is probably considered a low to mid range tent. not at all disappointed. Looking forward to using it in a more appropriate location and better weather conditions, secure in the knowledge that if the weather turns nasty this tent will still work out well.
I like this tent. So does my wife.It does not appear to be a high quality storm tent, but it seems perfectly acceptable as a 3 season car camping family tent. The materials of construction are light weight but appear well made. I have not tried it in a storm yet, but I have used it on two trips now and am not overly concerned. The Tent is incredibly roomy and spacious for two people. We are old, and the tent is easy to set up and take down, and the high ceiling and easy access are luxurious compared to my old backpacking tents.Be careful when setting up and taking as down as this is when you could damage this light weight tent. Use all the guy lines when up and I bought 10 extra heavy duty tent stakes for a more secure set up.The spacious screened in front porch ... MoreI like this tent. Bought this 6 person cabin tent for its roominess and the screened porch area. Would really like to say that i like this tent but can't. This tent has been a huge disappointment all around. Upon setting up the tent, we noticed a small tear in the rainfly right away. Poor quality right off the bat! This tent is rated to withstand 35mph wind, when we were there, there were strong winds (below 35mph) but the tent can't even maintain its shape due to the dome structure, the poles look like it's ready to snap off at any second!! We can't even stay inside the tent during the strong winds because the tent can't even stand up to its shape!! The only thing saving this tent from being blown away is our heavy bags that we placed in the corner! The worst one is when its ... MoreBought this 6 person cabin tent for its roominess and the screened porch area. After our last trip ended with our tent being filled to the brim with rain water, we decided to do some research on affordable water resistant tents. Eventually we settled on this one. That said, here are some pros and cons.Pros:-Tall person friendly. The two of us are 5'3 and 6'1 and neither of us had to duck much-Nice views. You can unzip the windows for a panoramic view.-Roomy. We had space for a full size air mattress, all of our packs, cooler, lawn cart, 4 tier ferret cage, AND our other two friends on their camping chairs while it was raining and still didn't have trouble maneuvering around.-East setup and tear down. Tent poles are color coded to match the bands on the sleeves. Tent poles are color coded to match the bands on the sleeves. With the two of us, it really only took a few minutes to get completely up. Tear down was just as fast and we were able to pretty easily fit the tent back into its bag.-Keeps you dry! Our first outing with this tent saw us deep in the Missouri wilderness getting buckets upon buckets of water dumped on us. It started raining at 1am and didn't fully stop until 2pm. After 13 solid hours of torrential rainfall, our tent was still almost completely dry. Yes, if rain is pounding on your tent, it's gonna get a little damp. We stuck a small hand towel in each of the corners to catch any water that may pool up-- there wasn't much, not enough to make the towels soggy. Even the porch area, which lacks a tub floor, was relatively dry. It really only got wet from our shoes tracking in and out.Cons:-Rainfly needs reinforcing. This is actually my biggest gripe and a very simple fix for anyone handy with a sewing machine. When we got this tent out for a pre-camping trial setup, we staked down the rainfly and a gust of wind came along and tore a section of the material. After inspecting it, I can say for certain that this happened because of the design. At the very back of the fly, there is a guy line attached only to the fly's bias whereas the others are all attached to the bias as well as a seam. All the lines attached at seams were sturdy and held without issue. So I patched the rainfly and sewed the line back in place with a few layers of zigzag stitching and ironed on some heat bond. It held up great in the rain!*I contacted Coleman about the issue with the rainfly and they were quick to fix it for us. Their customer service was great and I had a new product on my doorstep within 2 days!-Floor is a little delicate. We DID put this thing through the wringer, but we experienced a slight problem with camp chairs inside the porch area. I placed my camp rug down inside the screened porch so our friends could bring their chairs in and sit while it was raining, but by the time they cleared out one of the chairs with pointy feet poked two holes in the floor. Not a huge deal for us since it wasn't in the actual tent, but a word of warning for anyone that plans on having pointed objects in theirs.-Center of rainfly tends to gather water. It eventually runs off but we decided to get up every few minutes to push the tent up so the water wasn't standing just in case. Not a huge deal but still a bit annoying.-Weak tent pegs. This should be a given for anyone with experience but those little pegs that come with all tents aren't really the best. We used them for some sections but for the four corners of both the tent and the rainfly, we used stronger pegs.-Windows on the sides can't be opened in the rain. I suppose you CAN if you don't mind getting wet, but I liked how you could open the back window during rain without getting soaked. If the side windows were protected by the rainfly the same way then you could. Not so much a design flaw as much as it is a design preference. All in all, I would highly recommend this tent for someone who has beginner to intermediate camping experience.
I'm long overdue for this review, so here it goes.My first experience with this tent was off to a rocky start, with the very back guy line of the rain fly tearing upon setup. It wasn't a difficult fix for me, just a quick patch and sew job and it hasn't torn since. When I emailed Coleman about the rainfly to see if there was any means of replacement, they more than compensated by sending me a whole new tent. Now, I've had this tent for close to 3 years, and EVERY. The waterproofing was the biggest reason we purchased this tent and so far it's delivered.Setup and teardown is relatively simple, with color coded rods and sleeves, and can be done easily with two people. I have also set up and torn down this tent twice on my own with relative ease (and I'm 5'3).This season, I finally applied a silicone weatheproofing spray for extra water resistance. Here's to many more excursions with this reliable tent.
