Recently tried this stove out for the first time on a 3 night car camping trip. Overall, I really loved it, and found it was great for all sorts of cooking. I was expecting to have issues with flame control and perhaps build quality, based on reviews I read before purchasing, but I didn’t have issues with those. I had good flame control on both burners, the auto ignite worked perfectly, and it seems well built to me. The one issue, which may lead to a return/exchange, was that for the burner on the left, I had to turn the knob counter clockwise two full rotations before any gas would start to come out (whereas on the right side, gas started coming out about half way through the first rotation, as you’d expect). This stove is sleek and simple, works great. Just what we like! I would love to give it 5 stars, but the ignition button is not a great design. You have to PUSH it hard to get ignition, and that action pushes the whole stove away from you. I have to brace the back of the stove when using the ignitor to prevent it from sliding. Inconvenient. Our prior trusty Coleman (lasted 25 years!) had an ignitor TWIST knob, which was a much better design.

This stove works well, good flame control, simmers well with out blowing out. Wind guards actually work and you can still fit fry pan & saucepan on at same time. Stove tends to slide around when on hard surfaces so I fitted adjustable anti-skid feet. Found the regulator rattled a bit when packed in the back of the van so added a small clip to secure it better. I use it from a POL gas bottle and it works great, plenty of heat and the best control I've found on a budget stove.

I’m pretty meticulous about where my money goes for gear. I have a backcountry white gas stove but wanted something for the front country to make camp cooking more enjoyable. This stove definitely delivered on ease of use. While the performance was slightly affected by some breezes it still has a high output to get you to boiling water. We’re never in a rush when we’re car camping anyway so it doesn’t make a difference to us. Like other reviews have mentioned you do have to get a feel for this stove to simmer properly but we didn’t have too much trouble simmering our tomato sauce for spaghetti or getting medium heat for eggs. This thing is also very easy to clean and feels robust like it will last us a decade. The burly metal latch is awesome and it was something I wanted in the stove I was going to buy. The camp chef Everest and GSI Selkirk have plastic latches that you just know will eventually fail. Anyhoo, I’d say worth the price.
I bought this camp stove to replace a year old camp stove the broke. I researched numerous vamp stoves before deciding on this one. Coleman has been around for years, and knows how to make gear that last. I have used this stove numerous times. It is light weight and easy to use. I bout a storage case for it that has a side ouch for extra propane cans. Great price for the value you get.
Item arrived pretty well packaged. Upon opening box and taking out stove I found one of the burner tops was not attached, how it came unscrewed I cannot answer. After setting up the stove and attaching propane tank I pushed the ignitor and only one would spark. I tried numerous times and only the left side burner would spark and ignite. The right side lit only after I put a match to it. Don't know what type of quality control they have but does not meet my standards for a brand new item.
This was a huge step up from the butane burner we had before. It is much more resistant to wind and we also had a few dud butane canisters that just never worked at all. This device is awesome and not much bigger than a butane burner. However, it's not perfect.1 - The control knobs go from 0-100 in the space of 45 degrees! Makes it really quite hard to get the temp just where you want it. The gas flow is also affected just by touching the knob, not even turning it!2 - It rips through the small green bottles pretty fast. Get an LPG bottle and never worry about that again.3 - The regulator design is a pain how it sticks out. I also thought our's was stuffed but it was actually the lock screw holding the recepticle that the regulator screws in to had come lose ... MoreThis was a huge step up from the butane burner we had before. I also thought our's was stuffed but it was actually the lock screw holding the recepticle that the regulator screws in to had come lose and was preventing the regulator from fulling connecting to the cooker.4 - It's a little narrow for 2 pots but the griddle is awesome. All in all, I love the triton but it does have a few annoyances. I can deal with it but some other copies have better knobs for example.
We just puchased it recently and it seems to be working.I don't think it is any worse or any better than many camping cookers on the market. We think that it's going to be easier to keep clean and it's not huge like some of the newer models and can be packed easier. I think that in this day and age the company should be able to make a smaller and easier flow control connection. The current connection is looks ridiculous and makes handling more difficult. It was good value for money and suited our storage needs and that was the reason for the purchase.
This is just perfect for what we need for portability for our camping trips. It's portable, easy to use, easy to clean, safe and light. No issues with it that I can think of.Great for camping trips or outdoor getaways and road trips.Quality is solid though some make say this is too big but for us it does what we got it for and colour wasn't anything particular for us.I would recommend this to anyone looking for something like this!
I have compared many brands and different types of gas stove before buying this one! It ticks all our boxes and has very good quality! Much better than the cheaper ones (under $100). It can easily connect to the usual 4.5kg/9kg bottle with an adapter which is only $7-10 from bunnings. The 450g portable gas bottle is always out of stock in all stores, not only BCF but also other places like bunnings, so I do recommend using this stove with a usual bbq/camping gas bottle.
