4 out of 5
I purchased these on-line because of the reviews. My wife liked them; but I didn't like the price too much. What can I say? She liked them. I do like them; but gave them 4 out of 5 stars because they are not as breathable as indicated. They are light weight and comfortable. If I was in the store and tried them on; I probably would not have purchased them because of the price. I would find a shoe/boot with the same comfort and features at a cheaper price. That's my opinion. Inflation is hurting all consumers.... Show more

Color is way off from pictures
I was waiting for these boots to become available for several months in my size and was very excited when I saw they were recently available again. I love the design and due to the weather around me, needed to put them to use pretty quickly. It took me a couple of days to realize that the boots looked very strange in sunlight with a strong dark green color all over. The color is noticeably different compared to the pictures displayed on the Columbia website - and honestly don’t look anywhere near as good as the pictures. It’s pretty much dark green on dark green. I would have asked for my money back but unfortunately needed the waterproof boots ASAP, so now I’m out the $100+. Be sure to review the color on any new orders and return if it’s not what you’re looking for!... Show more

Great boot, but colour in pictures is wrong.
I ordered this boot in the Gravel/Dark Moss colour. The pictures online, not just on Columbia's website but literally everywhere else I see this boot for sale, are very different than what I received. In the online pictures, the boot looks grey with a green toe cap - in reality, the main body of the boot, which appears to be a woven/nylon-like material, is green - very, very green.I'd have happily kept the boot otherwise - fit as expected, very comfortable, and otherwise great-looking boot. If I could find it in a different colour, I'd buy it again.... Show more

I Really Like The Boots, But May Not Be For Everyone
These boots were exactly what I was looking for. I've hiked with them pretty extensively this winter in snow and mud, and for me they've been completely waterproof. They don't seem to breathe all that well, which I assume is due to them being waterproof. For winter his has been great, my feet have been very warm. We'll see how this is as the weather starts to turn.I'm generally pretty minimalistic when it comes to footwear. I prefer no heel, a minimal drop, and don't have a need for much arch support. These fit that bill perfectly, they're pretty flat, and the arch is minimal, which may not be ideal for everyone. The comments about the Gravel/Dark Moss color are pretty accurate. It is definitely much more "green" than it appeared in the pictures that were available when I bought. There is really no grayish color to them at all. That said I still like them, though had the Graphite Delta been available when I bought I'd have considered those.TL:DR If you like a fairly minimalistic shoe this is a great option. If you're looking for something with more support, probably look for something else.... Show more

Love at first try-on
When I first tried this boot on in the store, it was a perfect fit and I didn't want to take it off. I'm pretty picky about shoes and I tried on at least 4 other pairs before I found this one. My feet are always cold, but as soon as I put these boots on, my feet started to warm up right away. They look great and can be dressed up with a nice sweater for an evening on the town, or you can wear them with a hoodie and go for a muddy hike. They're super versatile. And the comfort is second to none. I love to take long walks in these during my work lunch breaks. I like the height of it and it goes just above my ankle to keep things warm, but not too high up to where my leg is getting irritated. Highly recommend!!... Show more

Not Waterproof.
I started wearing these about 3 weeks ago and was very pleased with the comfort, fit, and look. After having ordered two other Columbia shoes from this site that did not fit all (size 13 was too small in the toe area and size 14 of the same model was too large. Both returned locally), these were a relief to receive as they fit perfectly. However, upon stepping into a 1 inch puddle going to the grocery store today, my foot was instantly wet. This is not acceptable at this price range and really anything that has "waterproof" written right on it should be waterproof. I'm assuming this is a quality control issue and not something that effects every pair, at least I hope this is the case. I own a pair of Fairbanks low shoes that are my favourite shoes of all time, so I ... MoreI started wearing these about 3 weeks ago and was very pleased with the comfort, fit, and look. I purchased these as a casual boot for the coming wet weather this winter, just something to wear around town. If they don't hold up in the city, they probably work as a hiker.... Show more

Not Waterproof, Shoes Don’t Match Picture and Bad Customer Service
I ordered these Fairbanks Mid Boots back in August when they were on sale for $52. Seemed like a good deal and they had them available in blue. They never shipped and in fact my account still says they’re pending pickup six months later. After 5-6 exchanged emails and phone calls, they finally offered to re order the boots, though they only had them available in green and I would have to pay the difference in price. I agreed. The shoes arrived and do not match what is pictured. The toe and heel are a different color and the tongue of the boot is very wide. I wear a size 12 but still have narrow feet - these make me look like an ogre. I’ve only worn these now about a dozen times, mostly around when we’ve had some snow lately. They are not at all waterproof as advertised. Each time my toes have been drenched within an hour. Not sure exactly where the water is getting in but it’s just around the toes, nothing by the ankle. These boots are overpriced for their cheap quality. I’ve bought Columbia products through retail outlets all my life but this is likely to be my last purchase at least for some time.... Show more

Support and flexibility
These boots are perfect for me. When i first pulled them out of the box i was slighlty worried they would bee too small. This was not the case, instead the fabric had enough "give" to where there is stretch in all the right places, and this also made it easy to break the shoe in.Ankle support is perfect for me. One it is comfortable, this includes it being "soft". Two it can be easily "enhanced" by proper lacing. Three it allowed me mobility to scramble over river boulders and downed trees easily. Do note that if you have weak ankles and need extra support these may not provide the support you need. (go try it before you buy it)Shoe grip/sole. The grip was excellent, we will see how well it holds up to my environment, but it was great for hiking on slippery ... MoreThese boots are perfect for me. Hopefully it stands the test of time and use for me. If it does this will be my top recommended boot.... Show more

They're hiking boots
First time reviewing shoes.Pros: Look good and comfy to walk in. Keep my feet warm.Cons: Keep my feet too warm. Felt like my feet were soaked after being in them for 4 hrs. Took them off and padding in the shoe and my wool socks were moist. Obviously sweat. Had to keep wearing them and 9 hrs total. Next day the same thing. Feet were warm, but inner padding was wet and so were my socks. Pads already have that sweaty smell after 2 days. Day 3 and 4 were the same. I didn't realize they didnt dry overnight day 1 so that didn't help. I wasnt in water but there was a lot of walking. Overall still comfy but run way too warm for me I guess.... Show more

Well-Made but too small/narrow
Seems well-made, but it was much too small. I have Columbia Fairbanks sneakers in my size—the same model name as these boots but in a non-waterproof sneaker. They’re one of the most comfortable pairs of shoes I own. They fit my high arches and wide feet well and are comfortable for miles-long walks—multiple 15+ mile days in Yosemite last summer immediately after receiving them and no hot spots or discomfort. I ordered these boots in the same size and the opening was too narrow to easily get my foot in. Once I managed to get it in, the shoes were incredibly narrow and uncomfortably tight. I didn’t even bother putting the other one on. I out the stuffing back in the boots and sent them back. Disappointing and confusing. They seem like a great boot—well made and with ...
