Went to the store with the intentions to purchase another pair, but they didn’t have my size. This was the next pricepoint, but still within budget and fits well. Good support for the foot. 200G insulate in perfect for being active in weather above 0 degrees farenheight. Wish I was in the market for boots when they were on sale, but these work well with an aggressive sole pattern to prevent slipping when snow blowing and shoveling. Difficult to drive in these with how thick the sole is.

Amazing snow boots

These boots are great! Very comfortable and very warm! I took these on several hikes in the snow. I did wear wools socks, and the boots performed amazingly! Traction on the snow was solid, but not on ice. Love the fact they a high, so they provide extra coverage. Waterproofing/repellent works well. I did step into ankle deep water and the boots stayed dry. I can confidently recommend these boots to keep your feet and toes warm and dry.

I purchased Bugaboots a couple of years ago, and the rubber shell across the top cracked and split on one of the boots, and Columbia will not stand behind its product. Although I thought the boots were initially great, they should never have failed, especially since they were barely used. I strongly recommend that people NOT buy any Columbia-branded products, as the company does not support its products and will not work with their customers to address issues. Most other companies (e.g., Timberland, Sperry, Spyder and many, many others) will guarantee that their products are free of manufacturing defects, and will resolve issues arising from defective workmanship and/or materials, but not Columbia. Caveat emptor.

Extremely disappointed never again

Did some research into reviews on the BugaBoot III. Purchased in Boxing Day sales. Made a mistake thinking it was the Omni Heat version which it wasn't. Came withjust 200g of insulation without Omniheat liner. Even with good quality merino wool socks, my feet were cold in -5C degrees when the Bugaboot is rated down to -32C.Regret not choosing KEEN Summit County winter boots (300 g Keen.Warm™ upper insulation and 450 g Keen.Warm™ toe insulation).Size wise, another disaster as I was strongly recommended by the ales staff to take 8.5US when I insisted my normal boots size of 9.0US. At least I chose the WIDE fitting instead of the regular. Still, after walking in the snow for 1hr, the Bugaboots were tight and uncomfortable to the extent my foot hurts, even with ... MoreDid some research into reviews on the BugaBoot III. Should have gone for TNF or KEEN. Probably too late to return the Buggers for a refund so money down the drain. These Bugger boots are going straight into the rubbish bin unless Columbia can do something about a refund. Worst purchase ever on winter boots. Next stop Salomon Tundra Pro or Keen Summit County or TNF Chillkats 400s. Anything but the Bugger boots.I would not recommend the Bugger boots to anyone regardless, the buying experience has been dire so my mind is made up to on Salomon or Keen or TheNorthFace.

My favorite boots for winter hiking.
27 October 2023

Had a pair of Bugaboot II’s that finally wore out after about 5 years. They were regular width size 11 and fit great. To get the same fit in these I had to get a wide 11.5, so they seem to run a little smaller with the update. Not really a negative, just something to be aware of. They also got rid of the speed hooks, which on a boot this tall is baffling. That being said I still like the boots. They’re supportive, lightweight, and I’ve found them to be ideal for winter hiking and snowshoeing. If these hold up as well/ are as waterproof as the last models they are good to go!

Pretty good boot but with some big drawbacks
1 March 2023

These boots felt great the first few times I wore them. The fit on my foot is excellent and they're super lightweight. The soles have good grip on snowy inclines and overall the boot is quite functional. My only initial complaint was that the stretchy laces don't hold at all so it's a bit of a pain to lace the boots tightly. The biggest issue that I have run into after about a month, which makes the boots almost unusable, is that the upper part of the boot folds in and pushes into my ankle whenever the toe lifts up - such as when walking uphill or stepping on uneven ground. This crease pushing into my ankle is painful and causes me to alter how I walk to avoid the pain. This issue is a huge bummer for me because I thought I had found some great boots but now I ... MoreThese boots felt great the first few times I wore them. You can see the crease in the photos coming from the third lace eyelet up from the toe.

Quality boots!
5 January 2023

Seems like a very well made solid boot. I haven't got a chance to wear them outside in the cold and snow yet, but I'm sure they would hold up very good. When I got them I put them on and wore them in the house for a while. Very comfy and warm. I read some reviews of people saying to go a full size up which I did. I usually wear a 13 wide and purchased a 14 wide. I'm glad I did because they fit perfect. I think a 13 wide would have been a little too snug. I like a little bit of wiggle room. So yeah, great boots! Can't wait to test them outdoors!

Solid boot, great support, excellent waterproofing, okay traction
2 April 2022

This is a solidly built boot with excellent ankle and foot support as well as excellent waterproofing. The lacing system is great and together with the construction, imparts a very secure feeling in uncertain terrain. Deep snow traction is excellent, packed snow - middling - this doesn't have enough bite to feel very confident or maintain pace. Ice even less so, though most boots without studs aren't really meant for ice anyways.Cushioning is very good, not plush, but not too firm either. It's usable for long hikes even with my 240 pounds. I was very warm in 15F degree weather and feel confident this would take me down to subzero temps - in fact, I didn't even need my usual merino wool socks with this boot.In terms of fit, the wide worked very well for me, but ... MoreThis is a solidly built boot with excellent ankle and foot support as well as excellent waterproofing. I wish I had gone a half size down before using this.

Thought they’d be warmer.

This boot is pretty substantial in its physical appearance. This doesn’t really come across in the stock website photos. That, coupled with 200g thinsulate lining should make for a super toasty boot or so you’d think. Personally I am not really impressed with the “warmth” that these provide over an extended period in colder temperatures.I first used these during the Buffalo Blizzard of 22’. At which point I was out shoveling and snow blowing for 30-45 minutes at a time before having to come in to warm my hands (and to a lesser degree my feet). But I was really surprised that my feet started to get cold when out for such a short time. So I will not ever recommend driving in them if you have large feet (14).On the plus side the boots are super comfy, very well made and the grippy sole saved me a number of times while tending to the snow which made the boots worth the purchase.

Wonderful snow boot
10 December 2022

I love this snow boot. It’s warm. It’s waterproof. It’s comfortable. And it’s also the right height. Too many snow boots out there are not high enough and this one is the perfect height. I am a men’s size 15 in all brands of sneakers and a size 15 in this boot fit me perfectly. It feels comfortable on my feet and it laces up really nice. Very nice boot with no drawbacks, I wish other companies made boots in a size 15 but I appreciate you making this in a size 15. Has good traction on the bottom for shoveling snow.
