Bought a pair of these a few years ago when they came out and were more expensive than they are now, price turned me off a bit as I usually stuck with less expensive footwear. Very good hiking boot for all-day work use. I actually have 3 pair and use them in rotation. I like the all leather; however, they do need to dry out, so I rotate them. Works for me. They are good looking and stay that way with a brief polish once in a while with a brushing in-between. I work in a hospital, on hard floors for 8 hour shifts and these (with a set of purchased insoles) are way more comfortable than any sneaker or running shoe I've tried. I switched from the Hi-Tec Altitude 4 boot due to increasingly poor production/quality. I'm VERY happy with the Newton Ridge - have been wearing this boot for the past 5+ years, I think.

I bought these and walked 7 km the first day to break them in. Later I hiked 45 km on the Inca Trail in Peru with them, also in the Amazon rainforest.I never had a blister or ... any issue beyond needing to double knot the laces. Quite attractive too.How's this for an endorsement — after each day hiking, people would put on comfortable walking shoes. I put these boots back on. That's how comfortable they are.

Straight out of the box, these boots did not need to be broken in. I used them recently (October 2021) in Colorado where I hiked the Morrison Slide trail and they were just perfect. They offer ankle protection from the constant ankle turning rocks that never quite twist your ankle completely, but just enough to make you hurt later if you are wearing mids or trail runners. The traction is completely confidence inspiring. I've owned many other boots from Merrell and other companies, and these were the easiest to use out of the box and have been the best companions. I have the Elk/Red/Black ones and they honestly look beautiful too.I've used these for snow shoeing and for general hiking on flat wet grassy and muddy areas and they are perfect. Honestly, after wearing them and caring for them for two years, they look brand new except for a few scratches on the plastic part between the sole and the suede from sliding them across rocks. You can clean the mud from the treads in the sink. I'm recommending the female version to my gf for our upcoming hiking trip to Utah. 10/10. Most trail runner shoes lately have been running a 12 for me when before I've always been an 11.5 most of my adult life. These are 11.5 and fit true.These are slightly bulky for casual wear, so if you're just getting them for school or the mall, I don't know. I usually forget I'm wearing them until I have to drive. They are extremely comfortable.
These hiking boots are the most comfortable for me. They provide great stability and support. They are very durable for my day to day use. I have bought two pairs in different colors. The maroon style has received the most positive comments for styling than any other shoe I have worn. Everyone loves this maroon style. I have not received any comments on the grey hiker even though they are exact.
I have only worn these a few times so far, and they are great! They are comfortable and rugged feeling. They also look sharp and pair well with a number of different outfits. I mostly work in an office setting, but occasionally have to visit farms and other outdoor areas. I'm sure these would meet the needs of anyone who has to walk or hike frequently. I snagged these on sale for $50, which is a steal for such a high-quality boot. Definitely recommend!
Boots seemed decent comfort wise and true to size. Looks are OK. Only has 6 sets of eyelets and was a little tough to get the fit right and tie the foot down properly. Ankle support not great but better than a shoe. Not for serious hiking or backpacking. Boots did not feel like good quality but for someone on a budget, they might work out OK. Upper material seemed thin and cheap. Sole lugs were not very deep and were soft for a hiking shoe. Did not really care for the lighter tan color and the thin cheap suede leather which I assume will attract and show off the dirt and grime from trail use. Problem was one shoe had a minor glue over run on top and it stood out due to the light tan color. Not much padding especially around the heel. I got these for Christmas from my boyfriend. I have alot of ankle pain and an issue I would need surgery to fix. When I say when I put these on, it's like no other boot/shoe I've ever worn. The fit is perfect, soles are comfortable and they pffer amazing foot/ankle support. My pain somehow goes away when I wear these. Got them for hiking but tempted to get a pair for being on my feet 12+ hours as a nurse. Most comfortable shoe I've ever worn. Fits perfect but size up if you want to wear with thick socks.

It looks like a light brown with a lighter brown spot in the middle in the pictures. The actual color is dark baby shart green with a slightly lighter shade of baby shart green in the middle. They're incredibly ugly. I actually feel bad that my family member is going to to open their pair on Christmas. Then, to top it all off, when I tried my pair on it felt like there was still paper in the toe of one boot. Nope. It was just the internal material sagging down, and there's no way to fix it. These boots are perfect. Waterproof, comfortable, as long as you get some good inserts, and great for light/moderate hiking. I mainly use them for disc golf because of the support and grip given by the m. I bought my first pair 3 years ago and they finally leaked this past spring. The color options are appropriate as well.
