I like this windbreaker, but I'm spoiled already owning 3 Glennaker Lake Jackets. Elastic wrist, andNON-Hiding hood are OK, for the money, but someday I'll buy a Blue Glennaker Lake.________________________________________________________________________________________COMMENT: (Not part of review)I am disappointed with THIS Survey/Review form. Exactly as described, great fit and fabric. Look and utility as I wanted. Nice to have hood and zippered pockets. Good for warm weather rain.
Great rain jacket. It is very light, but sturdy material. It can be worn on a daily basis due to it being a thin material. Also, it is very nice looking.
Looks like a nice jacket. Haven't tried in the rain yet. Fit seems in between for me. Ordered my usual large (I'm 6-0, 185) then ordered a medium to compare. Large was a bit loose, medium a bit tight so I went with large. It should do fine.
I left my previous windbreaker in a rental car while on a family vacation and really wanted another one. I spent a lot of time looking at on-line options and chose the Columbia Flash Challenger. It's exactly what I wanted, a lightweight windbreaker with a hood, pockets, and it fit me just fine. Perfect for wearing when the weather is in the 60s on those morning walks with our dog.
I was in need of a new windbreaker but couldn't find any cotton ones. This one was on sale so I decided to take a chance. The fit is as expected. Not a fan of the plastic feel and look. It's too bad the hood can't be stored in the collar - it is always exposed (not a fan). This jacket is one of only a very few with inside pockets (2). The inside pockets are quite roomy but the placement is odd. They are at the bottom of the jacket which means you have to unzip almost all of the way to access them. They would be much better positioned at breast height - like the pockets in a suit jacket. It is a perfect fit and I absolutely love it!!! Great for windy or rainy days, I couldn’t have bought anything better anywhere else in the world!I will continue to shop with Columbia as always!
This jacket is not waterproof, but water repellant. It's one of the cheaper fabrics Columbia uses, so don't expect a high performance jacket - it's not fully waterproof and not very breathable.If you are looking for the lightest possible jacket to pack in a very tiny space, a jacket that keeps a little drizzle or wind away, this might be for you. Otherwise, I'd recomment something with a bit more fabric technology such as the Inner Limits jacket.The sizing is big - it runs about a full size bigger than the Inner Limits II.
