This shirt is very comfortable and has better fabric than many of the other fishing brands I wear. Almost eliminates sunburn and makes a hot day on the water in Texas far more pleasant. I'd get the "Big" size even being average build. Lasts and looks better longer than many of the other flashier brands that still work well and were on sale. I recommend light colors and would highly recommend this shirt.

Great Shirt! Sun shirts are becoming my thing. They are great for the summer or any time. I love this shirt! Columbia sun shirts in particular are lightweight and wick sweat quite well. They breathe really well. This particular shirt does run a size above what you would normally buy so I would advise ordering down a size. I am an XL and a L fit me just right. Thank you Columbia for a great product!
My review is for both shirts I purchased. I bought identical shirts in 2 colors. They are lightweight and comfortable and fit me just fine. I never used to worry about sun exposure while fishing but I'm getting older and figured it wouldn't hurt to worry a bit. These do a fine job of keeping me comfortable and eliminating sun burn on any day I want to fish. The hoodie is light enough to wear under a hat and keep my ears and cheeks from getting roasted by the sun too.
Great warm weather shirt, provides you full coverage on your arms, neck and ears/scalp if wearing the hood. Not only does it provide sun protection it stays comfortable and keeps you cool. Love the color selection options, be adventurous with your picks. It does size on bit on the larger side, so keep that in mind when you order. Highly recommend these shirts and my closet is filled with the hoodie and regular shirt versions.
I work fulltime for Fish & Game managing a wildlife area. Summer heat has starting rearing its head so I picked up a couple of these to see how'd work out in the field. I CANNOT stop wearing them. I just ordered more cause I was doing laundry every two days so I could wear them to work every single day. I have other sun shirts, but this deflector series really takes it up a notch. The extra sun protection is great, sure, but you stay cooler as well cause it also defects the HEAT. When I'm near a big piece of farm equipment I can especially tell the difference. You will "shimmer" a bit but its not too much at all, I think its a pretty cool look. The hood is a must as well. Finding this shirt was like a cave man discovering the internet. I work out dòors and also get sweat pimples. These magical shirts are so nice and breezy i love em. They are thin, seem to be made well. But i guess we will see how long thy last inmy work environment. A small downside, they are like silk and they form to you .... revealing your exact shape. For some thats a good thing. Others .......
I decided to buy this Ice Hoodie for the promise of a cooler hoodie. I already have several hoodies from Columbia with sun protection, some with cooling. I tried white and other light colors, but found them to be too warm. I have only worn this once for a very limited time and found it slightly better. Sizing and Quality seem good. I ordered with confidence and it seems to have rewarded my hopes.
I bought this a couple of years ago and I am continually impressed with how cool I stay in this hoodie! At first the neck gaiter was a little confining but I lost some weight and it no longer squeezes my neck. The thumb holes are a bonus and the Omni-Share technology is amazing. I treated this with permethrin to keep the bugs away and now it does that, too! It would be a cool feature if Columbia pre-treated this with permethrin. I'd certainly pay top dollar for it!
