I bought these shoes in anticipation of my trip to Nepal. I started breaking them in early and have been impressed by how comfortable they are. They are extremely supportive but also lightweight. I came back to the site to see if I could snag another pair, but I don't like the remaining colors. I would buy another pair and recommend them to anyone. The sizing was accurate.

I wanted a winter alternative to my summer Merrell MOAB walking shoes, something waterproof and comfortable with decent arch support. The latest MOAB waterproofs have a really hard sole but the Peakfreak is soft while still offering support, and it looks great with the desert colours and orange accents. So far it's stayed dry and it's grippy in bad conditions. Took a few days for the uppers to loosen up so I could get a really comfy fit, but that's not unusual. Never tried Columbia before but I'll definitely audition them again. I was advised to go a half-size up (I'm a UK 10 and these are 10.5) and it's spot on.

I recently purchased these shoes and upon arrive the mesh on one of the shoes had two damaged pieces of mesh. The issue was quite small but shouldn't of been there none the less for shoes that were over €100.I reached out to the customer help and they were more than happy to issue a refund and give me a 10% discount for there online shop.It was unfortunate that they couldn't just send replacements but I am still happy with the outcome. The shoes were a great fit and were extremely comfortable, other then the issue I had I would recommend them.

I just received these shoes and they are supposed to be a wide shoe. I am not sure if mine are marked wrong as people writing reviews say these are fitting as should be expected. Giving the way they are firing the laces are not long enough. I am not sure how companies do their sizing these days it is so hit and miss on everything. I have always been a big supporter of Columbia Sportswear, lately I have been more disappointed than impressed.
I ordered these shoes as a gift for my birthday. When they arrived the fit was quite literally the best fit for a shoe out of the box I’ve ever had in my entire life. I say this because I have wide feet and the wide fit was perfect for my “duck” feet. I really enjoyed the bounce in my step, too, from the insole cushion. Plus, water just rolls off the exterior like beads. This shoe would’ve gotten five stars had it not been for the weak tie string loops at the top of the shoelaces. After a couple of months lacing up the shoes normally, one of the shoelace tie loops broke off. Pictures attached. Really disappointed this happened when the shoes passed every other test. Just imagine how inconvenient this would have been had this happened on the trial. Fortunately, I got ... MoreI ordered these shoes as a gift for my birthday. Just imagine how inconvenient this would have been had this happened on the trial. Fortunately, I got them fixed but this really should never happen for shoes this expensive. Columbia will need to make it better so this doesn’t happen on the next pair. Finally the bright blue laces are a bit jarring and would recommend black laces as an alternative.
Great fit straight from the box! These are my first shoes from Columbia. The shoe size was perfect for me (9.5), but I did buy them in a wide size, so there is plenty of room for my toes. I've only taken them out for a few miles today but not a single blister/rub issue.I have flat feet which requires a bit of extra support in the shoes I purchase. I particularly enjoy the heel cushioning, it gives a bit of bounce when hitting hard surfaces. The sole bends nicely as I walk and doesn't feel hard/rigid.The sole grip is also impressive. I feel like everything foothold was secure and my ankle stable when going over uneven terrain. I look forward to seeing how well these handle longer distances and rain.
I've worn plenty of hiking shoes but I've never been as blown away by grip as I have with this pair. There's grip on wet rocks, fallen over trees, and steep climbs on gravel. The shoes grip and hold amazingly. I did have to replace the insoles as the right shoe would annoyingly click or pop when walking. With different insoles, the shoes are quiet. I love that they're waterproof too!!
Bought these after advice from a friend. Have done 3 walks over 5 miles each and found them to be comfortable and quite sturdy. However on both trainers I have a noise each time I my foot hits the floor, a kind of air escaping sound. It has been noticed by other meme era athletes f my party and has put me off the shoes a bit. I thought of returning them but now they are quite used I hoped the sound would go away.
These are wonderful, light hiking or walking shoes. I have flat feet and I find it difficult to find comfy shoes. These are a very good neutral shoe and it’s like waling on a cloud using them. Really helps me with leg fatigue when ealing or standing for long periods of time. And they look fantastic. Columbia does it again.
The top is quite good, not too bulky, but feels reasonably warm. What I don't like is the sole profile - it is nothing like a few different Columbia or other hiking shoe I had before. The heel side of the sole is very high for hiking shoe, with larger heel-to-toe drop than typical, not great for descent at all. The middle of the sole is low, and provides no support at all. The front is OK, maybe a bit stiff. The sole is relatively stiff, except the very soft "spikes" at the bottom - resulting in rather strange feeling of contact with the ground, but I think this aspect might be fine, just takes time to get used to.Width-wise the wide version is perfect for me, but I have just slightly wider than typical feet and sometimes buy regular sizes.
