These are the most comfortable and stable hiking boots I’ve ever purchased, and they are extremely stylish too! I wore them for several hikes in CO in mountainous, rocky, uneven terrain — they required absolutely no break-in and were comfortable from the first time I stepped into them. They provided excellent support and cushioning, and are water proof! The teal detailing makes me feel fashionable, especially when I wear coordinating leggings. These are a 10+ and I highly recommend!

I tried this boot on in the store yesterday (3/5/24). The fit is very comfortable and secure, distributing weight well and balancing out. I did not purchase these, as I decided to wait awhile, however, I have owned a pair of Columbia hiking boots that I was very pleased with for suburban hiking. I do wonder whether the designers would consider offering a half chap (similar to what equestrians wear) as an accessory for the hiking boots, as gaiters are not as durable for hiking in tall grass areas or even light industrial conditions. With regard to fit: ALL of the shoes (regardless of brand) tend to run small. It may depend on origin of manufacture. This has always been true of clothing in the past. Different brands are not always sized the same, and it is dubious ... I love these boots. Since finding these boots, I dont wear sneakers anymore. I bought them for the Appalachian Trail section hike. I wore them to work to tread them in. They were so comfortable from that day forward! I wore them to work for about a month before doing my hike.of.approx 100 miles on the AT. They didn't let me down, the traction up the mountains and down was fantastic. The fit was great, not a blister one! Since I've been home, I continue to wear them to work and hike in them on the weekends. For my job, I am on my feet all day averaging about 15,000 steps. I wore these boots in Colorado a few weeks ago and hiked in the snow, feet stayed dry and warm.....I love these boots, ordering more! Did I mention that I'm a 63 year old woman.

I live in the PNW. I was looking for a quality, stylish, comfortable pair of high-top waterproof hiking boots that would work well in summer and keep my feet warm in winter. I also wanted a reasonable price. After reading reviews, I decided to try these out and I am so glad I did. I wear a size 8.5 in Adidas running shoes but I ended up keeping these boots in a size 9 (I ordered an 8.5 and a 9 due to conflicting reviews). The 8.5's were too small, even with thin socks. The 9's are slightly bigger with thin socks but are still comfortable.. they fit well with my hiking socks and wool socks. I just got them today and tried them out for an hour beach walk on a cool evening, splashed through some puddles and they kept my feet warm and dry. I really love the thick soles. ... I was immediately drawn to the vintage pink, so cute. I would give these 5 stars but it seems I am slightly in between size 8.5 and size 9. Other than that, I recommend these boots. You could say I am a little picky, so that says a lot. Thank you, Columbia <3 I should also mention that my feet are on the wider side which is why I wear Adidas running shoes.. however, I did not order a size Wide in these boots and I still have enough room even with thick socks. I was hoping this would be the case since the vintage pink do not come in a Wide size. I hope this review helps!
I adore these boots! Amazing fit! (disclaimer - I did put gel insoles in them because I put those in just about every shoe...) I will testify to them being waterproof. Two days ago, while checking our mail in the evening, I didn't see the giant ice-laden puddle because I was trying to avoid slipping on the mounds of ice piled up at the mailboxes. SPLASH! Right boot totally submerged just below the top of my boot - laces and all. Was waiting for my sock to start absorbing even a little water. NONE! Foot was cold but totally dry! Very impressive! I will be ordering another color!I need to get some for my daughter! Great for walking around CSU campus! :)
I'm old enough to remember when hiking boots had a substantial break-in period. You'd go for a long trek in the woods and have to carry a pair of running shoes in your backpack so you could switch to them when the new-boot blisters made it impossible to continue. These Columbia boots are soooooooo comfortable right out of the box. The leather is dense, but soft, and the padding is ample, yet weighs next to nothing. I haven't tested them in water yet, but the feel of the leather is exactly like that of the old Merrells these boots replaced. The speed hooks at the top make them easy to adjust, as well. They don't feel bulky on my feet and the soles are quite grippy even on damp rocks. It's a bonus that they look great. I very much prefer the steely gray color to the ... I do not like this hiking shoe. Merrells were much better. This shoe was hard and painful to break in. After broke in they are still not comfortable. Not great for long hikes or all day wear. They do keep your feet dry but also very cold during winter hikes, even with a couple pairs of socks. They do last awhile. I have had mine for years and haven't had to replace them yet. I might anyway, just because I would like something more comfortable. If your shopping for a hiking shoe, I would pick something else. There are way more comfortable hiking shoes out there.
For the past maybe 10 years (?), these have been my go-to boots for almost everything - walking, hiking, even running and sports. I'm very sad to report, after purchasing probably 14-16 pairs over the years, that they've changed the way they make them and the toe box is now too narrow especially on the outer edge. At least this was the case for the last 4 pairs I tried. Maybe they're trying to save a few pennies per pair by switching manufacturers? Who knows! All I can say is I would have gladly continued buying one or two pairs a year for the rest of my life, but, unfortunately, they are now completely unwearable for me. Unless Columbia changes them back to how they were, I will - with much regret - have to find a different shoe.
I bought these because I was so excited to have a good pair of waterproof hiking boots in pink! I thought I could trust the Columbia brand and Newton Ridge line. Aesthetics aside, I chose to leave these behind at the hotel because I would I never feel safe wearing them.Story time, I wore these onto the plane to Kauai, and my suspicion of the poor grip began when I entered my hotel room. These shoes glided on the laminate wood flooring, even my basic Keds and Rainbows or any normal pair of shoe would not.Lo and behold, I went hiking on the Hanakāpī‘ai Falls trail and felt like I had zero grip on the slicker rock. we eloped and hiked all day so i ordered these in white to wear with my wedding dress. aesthetically, they were perfect. so cute & exactly what i wanted. i read they didn't require much of a break-in period, so i didn't do much before wearing them on our big day. i definitely didn't wear the right hiking socks (we ordered fun socks to wear instead) and got a couple blisters. but that was from the non-moisture wicking socks rather than the boots. overall, they were very comfortable. i wore them for about 8 hours and we were basically walking/standing that entire time and my feet only got a little sore. even the next day, my feet/legs were not sore. so i would definitely recommend them!!
