Bubbles formed in the chrome cover after a single use, used it to fry eggs for breakfast while camping. So nothing too heavy, just a few minutes with a frying pan on it made the paint/chrome cover to form bubbles. Now a bit disappointed I didn't get a cheaper one from Bunnings with higher BTU

The best ghetto cooking set-up ever. Have been using for several years now, primarily running a frying pan/small pot. LPG burns hotter than butane so gone are the days of watching a steak boil alway slowly. Could not recommend more for no-fuss cooking. Only downside is in high wind you have to run it quite hot, so keep an eye on what you’re doing. In still conditions, I am able to get significant adjustment in heat output.

Very handy not to have to lug a whole cooker about. It as easy to pop on your gas bottle. The heat is great. I would monitor it being more open than a traditional cooker- so it doesn't cause issues with fire.

Maybe the gas bottle did not get filled up properly or there is a problem with the jets as it doesn’t throw good flames. I have only used it twice for short periods and it seems to take a very long time to boil two cups of water. I paid for the bottle to be filled so I assume it is, may take it back for exchange next time I go past
Great simple design that has stood the test of time. This burner is perfect for the jaffel iron or a single pot or pan. Just make sure you buy an adapter if your gas bottles outlet faces sideways. BCF have a good range of Companion adapters to suit this need.
These are great burners, my last one I had for about 30 years, I used it travelling around the country side and later outside under the verandah next to the BBQ. Went it finally went I was in the next day to replace it.
Good heat and control based on gas bottle gave nice range from very low to max. Works great on cast iron pots. No regrets as a single burner attached to small gas bottle.
I had high hope of this stove, I was loving the simplicity, but the reality was very disappointing. Bottom line, very slow to boil even a simple kettle of water, almost to the point of useless. I had a very full tank, I was doing my darndest to keep it sheltered from the wind, but it took forever to boil a kettle. Get the single 'Companion Single Burner Wok Cooker' stove instead, those things rule! This single burner is in the garbage bin now!
Good experience initially, then the jet got blocked. Ordered the spare part from Snowys which was almost same price as the whole unit because shipping tripled its price. Anyway I’ve not been able to change the jet. It’s a hex inside a very narrow sleeve and I’ve not found a tool to fit, asked lots of friends etc. So I’ve given up and bought a gasmate butane burner from Bunnings, 8500 BTU (same, slightly higher than this) $26 with 4-pack of refills. This has come recommended by a very experienced camping gear geek who says also the running cost is lower because propane refills for a small gas bottle are now so pricey at most outlets. He says a big advantage of butane is low simmer, and also rigging up wind break is easier because it’s lower to the ground/table versus ... MoreGood experience initially, then the jet got blocked. He warned me the one drawback of butane is slower burning at very cold ambient temps around 5 degs. No problem for me, I only using gas in the summer when fires banned.
This is a fabulous standby appliance.I have an old bbq without a separatecooking ring. This beauty allows me to use it outside, camping, or making refreshments when on car trips.
