I am handicapped, so the fact that the lid and the handle are together so the handle is always in the correct position is vital (also you can drink from both sides so if you are right OR left handed it doesn't matter) unlike some with the handle fixed in one place, you screw the lid on and it is hit or miss (usually miss) to drink out of it and be able to hold the handle as you drink. Also a tip: it stays cold (or hot) much longer if you LOCK the drink/can't drink lock. Don't know why but it does. It is also handy if you don't want it to spill; sometimes if it falls over and the lid is depressed while in the unlock position it will spill a few drops or more depending on how long it is pressed. I have owned a LOT of insulated mugs and this is the best engineered one ... I have owned a LOT of insulated mugs and this is the best engineered one I have ever had, I actually bought 4 of them, gave 2 to my son and daughter and kept 2 for myself. Oh, want to add if you can't press button down and get liquid to come even when it is unlocked it is probably because the tab that sticks down on inside of top has gotten pushed up towards lid. (that is where it opens up to clean the lid, (it says push to clean right on the tab, just noticed) you press the inside tab away from the side of the lid, pull down and the inside is exposed so you can clean it) I threw one top away thinking it was broken and then figured it out with my other one that the tab was too far up inside, making the lid "locked" all the time while still being able to slide the outer lock/unlock tab.

This "updated" version of the autoseal is not nearly as good as the original. I have loved my continuo mug since it first came out. When the lid wore out (began leaking because the rubber ring wore out), I bought this model. The first version lasted several years. This one lasted only six months before leaking through the air holes and through the handle. I treated this one exactly the same as my other one including dishwashing it every day. The randomly one lasted five years before I needed a replacement lid. I still use it.I have since thrown two of these away and found the older model online elsewhere. I will be sad when the old inventory runs out as I will not be spending any more money on these (not) "better newer ones." Please stop making changes that ... The texture of the plastic on this model is also rougher which I do not enjoy compared to the smooth plastic on the original.

I love this design, can switch hands without having to unscrew the lid and realign the spout like all other mugs! And I can't hold onto a big mug while walking the dogs etc. too uncomfortable especially if you have any arthritis in your hand. BUT I have to replace this mug every few months because the stupid spring release gets weak and stops opening the lid all the way resulting in having to tip the cup up higher and then it dribbles all over your clothes. I have multiple stained tops thanks to this lid. Have spent a lot of money buying this mug over and over due to this lid with the cheap spring mechanism that wears out too fast. I have never even put these in the dishwasher like it's says you can, that would probably expedite the lid demise even more. Please put ... Also can you make it in a 20 oz with the 7 hour hot rating like some of your other mugs? Please?

I love this coffee mug and use it every day. The one thing I really love is the locking autoseal that makes it unspillable. It is definitely my go-to mug. But in the last little while, my coffee has been coming out just barely and if I tip it up to see if I can get anything else out, it leaks through the vent hole (at least that's what I assume where it's coming from). The thumb button no longer allows the cofee to come out of the drinking holes. I have had 2 or 3 of these, and all have had the same problem. I'm not sure what to do about it. If it still worked, it would definitely be a 5 star rating and highly recommended. But I can't recomment this if it no longer works.
I was a huge fan of the previous design of this mug with a handle from Contigo. Everything about the previous design was perfect. I have 6 or more of the previous version of this mug and it was a brilliant design. But, the new design has several fails, and is not an improvementThe biggest flaw is they changed the top and added a sort of bridge in the center of the top with their name on it; which your nose hits and you have to tilt the mug at a strange angle to get a sip. The previous model had a recession in the lid where that was never a problem. I don't have a large nose, so I can't imagine how someone that does gets a drink from this new design. The locking mechanism was moved from its convenient location as part of the top of handle where it was a simple ... I don't have a large nose, so I can't imagine how someone that does gets a drink from this new design. The locking mechanism was moved from its convenient location as part of the top of handle where it was a simple movement of the thumb to lock or unlock to the side and made smaller, and it is a pain to move to lock or unlock. The valve and sealing mechanism is now flimsy and looks much easier to break. The mug is much taller and awkward because of the height. And the price is significantly higher. The new iteration is a huge failure and disappointment.I don't recomend buying it; which is unfortunate, because I used to recommend the previous version to everyone.Contigo, bring back the previous design! This is a huge failure.
I have an earlier 12 ounce version of this Autoseal mug with handle, which has a concave lid. The old one is at least eight years old and except for all of the paint on the outside being worn off, the lid still seals and works perfectly. After buying this newer version, I continue to use the old because the new version has a raised center from the handle to the opposite side of the lid. Like an earlier reviewer, my nose also hits the raised 'bar'. One's mug should never interfere with one's face while enjoying a good cup of coffee. Please bring back the original lid/handle configuration.
This is by far my favorite mug. I was gifted this after telling a friend I want a mug that keeps my coffee warm for a long time and I wanted a handle to make it easy to hold when walking the dog. It has been perfect. I came out to this site in search of a replacement lid, sadly not seeing any. After reading reviews I am seeing the same thing regarding the thumb button mechanism no longer opens the drinking holes. I gave it a good cleaning and removed all the old coffee scum (sad I did find coffee scum) and nothing works. My cup isn't even two years old, this should not be happening for the price of this mug.
My favorite style mug, easy to carry can easy to drink from either hand without having to get the lid re-aligned in relation to the handles like other models.THAT BEING SAID, the lid opening function FAILS to open where it won't open fully. You have to tip the cup up higher and then it dribbles all over your chin and clothes! I have stained shirts due to this lid problem.I purchased another; same thing happened to the lid; it will not open enough to get a drink. The problem is inside the handle, when you push the button down to get a drink, the mechanism inside the handle will not move outward enough to open the stopper to allow liquid to exit the cup. You can remove the lid and open the stopper retainer as if you were cleaning and see the plunger from the ... I have bought 4 if the randolph handles autoseal. They are really good design. Keep them at different houses. They are working fine after several years but I lost one recently and could not find anything but this new one and ordered based on.past experience with contgo. It is an awful design. The handle is the opposite of ergonomic. The trigger which is big and clunky and not protected is harder to push. The cap design is just brain dead. A large bridge runs down middle and hits nose so you can't drink from it without tilting head completely back. What were you thinking? Bring back the randolph. Untik then i am done with contigo
My mother's all time favorite mug! I've bought her three of them thus far and can't let her go a day without one! The handle is easier for her to grip than the other mugs as she has very small hands that have weakened with age. The auto seal feature means that it doesn't matter if she should let it droop in her hand, she's not going to wear it. Also, as she can drink from either side it does not matter that she is left-handed! It's perfect for her! Thank you for making her so happy because without her coffee in her Contigo she is just not the most Pleasant lol.
