These tires are the best. I installed these tires and immediately went on a 20 mile ride on a dirt and gravel trail, these tires are smooth as butter. The only real negative reported in the reviews was installation difficulties. In anticipation of this potential issue, I put these tires out in the hot sun for about 40 minutes before doing the install. After they were warmed up I mounted these tires with no difficulty at all, i didn’t even use a tire tool.

Purchased two of these tyres to do a road trip in Thailand swapping out my standard 25's in case some of the regional roads got dicey. They never looked like getting a puncture and the tread suprisingly let me steer out of some wide joints in concrete roads. Felt compliment in the wet also. Excellent value

As others have said, these run narrower than spec; my 37s measured 33.5mm wide at the tread seated with no tube and the same mounted and inflated to 70psi on 14mm rims. YMMV but all reviews I've seen and my own experience indicate they run 3-4mm smaller than the number on the sidewall. Unlike what others have said, they mounted easily, just with thumbs, but that will depend on rim diameter.Great tire. Feels bombproof over all surfaces. Took the road bike to play on some gravel/dirt/rock roads. They don't handle gravel or sandy squish deeper than 1.5" or so very well, but that would be true of any narrower tire. Just chunky enough to give confidence on a wide variety of surfaces but narrow enough to still move the bike fast.Would buy again, especially for the price.

Good value, good tyres
20 June 2020

I have an old touring bike and decided to do the (sadly cancelled) Eroica. I have upgraded the bike in several ways using pre 87 parts but the tyres had seen better days. I wanted to try to approach a gravel bike capability and these tyres looked to fit the bill - I didn't want to change the wheels - my budget is quite tight (actually I'm quite tight). My order was dispatched promptly and I had no difficulty in fitting the tyres, they look good. I have tried them out, on the road, they give a fast, smooth ride. On gravel paths they have noticably improved grip. I even rode along a stoney (mostly) dried up stream - the grip was better than I expected and I always felt in full control.Obviously they are not mountain bike tyres, nor are they as wide as gravel bike ... MoreI have an old touring bike and decided to do the (sadly cancelled) Eroica. I'm very impressed with them. Even though I've only had them for a short while, Continental has such a good reoutation, I have no hesitation in reccomending them.

Great price, and a must buy for all terrain

My son loved switching to these treads over the cruiser tires he had on his bike we ordered from Amazon.. even though we had to learn the measurements it was worth it. He said these tires help him ride his bike easier and with less resistance on surfaces. Also good at being puncture resistant. Totally love these..continental all the way for not only our bike but also all we use for our car! You will need to buy the tube's to go with these.

Great touring bike tyres
20 June 2024

I bought these to replace worn out tyres on my touring bike which I'm now using for commuting. I originally bought 700C x28 but found they were narrower in profile than the Conti Top Touring 2000 I was replacing, so I'll use them on a winter training bike. These 700Cx32 are great.Likes: nice free rolling central tread band, grippy shoulder tread when leaning over especially in the wet, not as heavy as Scwalbe Marathons of same size, look better in all black rather than amber side walls, reflective Band aids side on visibility. Fitted to my Mavic rims without use of tyre levers but plenty of squeezing into centre well.Dislikes: will take some time to wear off knobbly mouldings especially from side tread. All in all, great value & no f

I like it
26 August 2022

I am not a type of person that changed many tires. This is my first tire charge from my MEC hybrid Midtown bike. I've put on approx 2700-3000km on my Kenda K198 (which came with the bike) and was time to replace the rear. It was hard to compare because I've put on many km On my original tire. I know these continentals are low end tire but what more cane you ask for? I want a tire with minimum foot print on the road as possible, so these fit my requirements. Other commuter tires seem to have a flat spot with a bigger foot print which cause more resistance. This tire is the best bang for your buck for me. Also I picked this rider from others because the tread had a mixture between road and turning compared to others.

Pros and Cons
22 November 2023

Pros: This tire lasts forever! Have been riding the Continental Ride Tour since Jan '23. Carrying approx. 290'bs with ebike weight, me and gear and the tread doesn't even look partially worn much. Wow. Its a beef of a tire and been subjected to dirt roads, paved roads, trails, etc. with no issues. Maintain approx. 50lbs of air and the ride has been good. Just bought this one as a result of positive results. Have had it up to 30 mph on downhills with the only noticeable thing described below. Cons: Can not get the tire to spin perfectly round once mounted on the rim. Always has a slight rise in one small section. Deflating and resetting that location it still results in a slight small rise in the tire at that location. Doesn't really seem to make a difference except ... MorePros: This tire lasts forever! Tire for old bikes
10 June 2024

27 x 1 1/4 tires have become effectively obsolete and so are difficult to find at all, but I need them for my favorite bike. These are very stiff and heavy, and very thick. Maximum inflation pressure is only 80lb, but I haven't had any related trouble despite the all-up weight of my rig (260lb). It's way over-kill for the fair-weather, dry pavement riding I do. The handling takes a bit of getting used to - don't expect to be riding a criterium on this things. I thought the rolling losses from the lower pressure and aggressive tread would be discouraging, but I honestly don't notice.

everyday tyres

Bought these to replace very old Conti' Cityride on my everyday use bike. The old ones rarely got punctured, but were getting very tired looking (reflective bands peeling etc). These look to be the best alternative available in Australia. Pushys had them, - good price and excellent delivery time.
