These markers are well below retail and are a super awesome altrernative if you don't want to spend a bit more on the sketch variety. They hold a bit less ink, but they're great if you're not using them on a larger surface area. They include an extended range and some colorsexclusive to the ciaos not found in he sketch. They're refillable (with the various ink from copic) and have the color on the cap (although not the exact color). The only con is not being able to read the name of the color off the cap, you have to look at the barrel for that. Otherwise they're a great way to ease into using copic marker. Super fantastic blendability and color pay off.

Out of all the alcohol markets COPIC sketch is the best and COPIC Ciao is it's successor. You can't beat COPIC colors and you can't beat their brush nib. The ciao has a rounder barrel but otherwise it's a slightly smaller Sketch marker. 10/10 always recommend. Best bang for your buck (does not come in all of the copic colors but you can supplement with the sketch market)

I truly like the feel of the brush end. It paints like a wonderful watercolor brush that I don't have to wet. The color comes out smoothly. I love the feel of it. I also love the variety of colors I can choose from and reorder. I use micron markers to draw my pictures or designs and then use Copic Ciao markers to fill in the colors. i am very pleased with the markers.

If you're just starting with Copic markers, these will be the best to begin with. They are similar to the sketch, except they are just a bit smaller and come with less colors in the entire set. All Copic types use the same ink, so the B000 is the same in both ciao and sketch. Definitely a great way to start off collecting all the colors in the Copic selection!
The Copic Caio Pastel set of markers were my first ever purchase and use of an alcohol based marker. For the price, I believe the 6pc set is a good start for anyone just starting out and want to try a good quality product, to see how they like it and would want to invest more in the future. I use my markers for coloring in of hand drawn illustrations and sketches. The markers, comparable to other alcohol based markers on the market, do not have a very strong scent- which is great for use in long drawing/coloring sessions. These colors are relatively true to marker outside indications, which I loved. The dual ended tip is nice for covering large areas as well as small details. They can get expensive, however I do believe they are worth the price.
I am a card maker and I use alcohol markers to color the stamped images I put on my cards. I have used several different kinds of alcohol markers, but really love the COPIC markers. They are smooth and easy to blend. I especially like the fantastic prices that Blick offers. Blick has made it possible for me to own these markers where I couldn't have afforded them otherwise.
I've used Copic Sketch markers for many years and up until now have never touched a Ciao. I decided to try them after discovering cracks in some of my Sketch markers, rendering them unusable. I bought B28 and BV25 to replace their cracked Sketch counterparts. The Ciao markers have round barrels whereas the Sketch are flat. Because of this, I find it harder to hold the Ciao markers, and I have lost my grip multiple times while using them. This may be because I am unused to the rounded shape, so it may not necessarily be a con for everyone. The rounded barrel also causes the marker to roll away at times, which can be a bit annoying. The little nubs on the caps do not do much to stop the marker from rolling once it is in motion. As for Copic markers in general, the ... MoreI've used Copic Sketch markers for many years and up until now have never touched a Ciao. They are vibrant and look amazing in finished pieces. The ink comes out so nicely, and it is very satisfying to use the brush tip for coloring. Something to keep in mind is that these markers do have a strong odor, and I have gotten headaches from using them for too long in one setting. I avoid this by taking breaks and/or opening a window when possible.Bottom line: I love Copic markers and highly recommend them for anyone who enjoys working with markers. #sweepstakes
I am a freelance artist, and when someone pays for a traditional piece, I usually go either straight to my copics, or to watercolor, depending on the style of the piece, and the colors they want. These have very high quality pigments, are very saturated with color, it takes a long time for them to run out of ink, the brush tip is soft enough that i can get a crazy variety in lines, but firm enough i have control. i love that they are refillable, and i use them almost daily. they are some of the priciest markers out there, but they are far worth it. as of right now i own about 100 copic markers and i fully intend to get all of them.
The Ciao is a cheaper option to the Copic Sketch Marker. It tends to run out of ink a little bit faster BUT has all the same awesome ink power / tips that the sketch has. The non roll cap does help out on a level surface. On a slightly unlevel surface there is a little roll action. Nothing terrible though. All of the colors I have purchased thru Blick have been wonderful. They all came very juicy and filled. Not a single marker was even close to being dry. I was pretty nervous about getting some that might not be usable. The places I had purchased from before had been hit or miss with sending out working Ciaos. Now that I've started I can't stop. I'll be adding more Ciaos and refills to my purchase list soon.
I started with Copic Sketch markers but wanted to try the Ciao markers to see how they compared. The barrel is round on these versus the flatter shape of the Sketches so its slightly different to hold and get used to using, but besides that it operates the same. I do wish the full color range that Copic offers was available in the Ciao to make building a full collection more affordable, but it's nice to have a slighter cheaper option for those that don't obsess over needing every color.#sweepstakes
