It's my first time using and purchasing these markers. I have heard great things about Copic markers, and give it a try, since they're on sale, however, most of the markers came to me semi dry. The light colors were especially more dry than the darker colors. Will be going to BLICK by me to exchange or see if they have the refills. Not a good first impression to a new customer for Copic markers.

These are the best markers I've ever used! I'm an amateur colorist. I color in Sachin Sachdeva's "Butterfly Colour by Number" to destress. I switched to Copic when I couldn't get Prismacolor double ended art markers any more. In addition to all their other good qualities they are comfortable to hold. The only thing I don't like about them is that you can't cap them on the other side while drawing.

I cannot get over how much I use this color. It's so versatile and lovely. Like the name, it's great for blushes, but you can take it even further and use it for fair skinned shadows or lips. If you mainly draw characters or portraiture, I find it essential. #sweepstakes

Purchased all 358 Copic Sketches later to find, through massive ink evaporation and wasted refills, over a dozen of them had cracks in the caps. I did not mistreat the markers at all, as I treasure them and take such good care. I'm certain they came this way, either as a manufacturer defect and damage in storage and shipping. When there's a crack in the cap ink will evaporate sometimes at a rate of over a gram a month--this is an exorbitant amount of the equally overpriced ink refill, and with 358 markers it was easy to lose track of which ones I was constantly refilling, only to lose all the ink, not to art but to air! I even took to taping the seal between the marker and body because I thought the ink loss was simply due to the fact the crack made the cap loose by compromising the pressure by extending its diameter only to find the alcohol still escaped because the cracks extend into the inner chamber of the cap which itself communicates with the outside as the color code cap inside the top of the cap does not seal airtight. The proneness to cracking, inconsistent fit, and color code cap within the cap not being connected makes the Copic Sketch cap--the critical protector of all that premium ink, which should be flawless for the criticalness of its necessary function and the marker's price--a weak link that can lead to catastrophic ink loss and a money pit. I also assume that evaporating all the alcohol while leaving all the pigment inside after multiple refillings will cause its own damage to the integrity of the tone. And clearly Copic should sell replacement caps, as well as Super Brush nibs in reasonably priced bulk arrangements, as buying premium-priced markers that just evanesce all the premium-priced ink refill and need premium-priced nibs, which work out to cost per Super Brush almost half the price of a Copic Sketch marker--for felt!--only to have to replace said premium-priced marker because it came with a crack in the first place is mmaaddnneessss!!!
I purchased this to use with my manga and anime style drawings as I had heard many good things about Copic Sketch Markers. Especially the fact that they are refillable. I chose Sketching Grays as one of my starting sets because I wanted a way to add shadows and tones to my work, as well as to use the microliter for outlining. These markers did not disappoint! The dual tips allow for a wide range of line options and the colors lay down and blend beautifully. There is bleed through on cardstock, which I expected based on previous research, but I am going to primarily use them on Bristol Smooth paper going forward.I recommend these markers. Since they are refillable, I will be buying the refills rather than these exact markers again, however I will buy more Copic ... MoreI purchased this to use with my manga and anime style drawings as I had heard many good things about Copic Sketch Markers. I opted for this over the more popular Egg Shell E50, and I must say I am incredibly happy that I did. YR30 Macadamia Nut is a lovely pastel blonde shade that I use for one of my characters and I find that what I prefer about it is the graphic or cartoon leaning look of it. E50 I would say is a bit more suited for realistic hair, but if your style is more illustrative, I would highly recommend YR30! #sweepstakes

All of their handmade replacement nibs are also available and are interchangeable, allowing you to use the tip you prefer. Once you own the barrel you can use it for a lifetime. The fact Copics don't fill our landfills is worth a lot. If you continue to refill them, the price evens out.I use the Sketch markers because the barrels are compatible with Copic's airbrush system. Otherwise, the Ciaos would probably be my choice, because of the cap. The Ciao barrel is round and the Sketch is oval. Being oval, the tip of the marker tends to hit the inside of the cap when it is being replaced. The ink that gets inside the cap transfers back onto the barrel of the marker. Eventually, the ink dries and becomes sticky, making it slightly harder to remove the cap. It's not a deal breaker for me, the cap and area around the marker tip need cleaning more often. If I didn't airbrush, I would own more Ciaos. The quality is the same and so are the tips. The only differences are the Ciao's smaller barrel doesn't hold as much ink, they aren't available in as many colors, and the caps don't seem to transfer the ink. I am pointing this out in such detail, because I don't think I have seen it in any reviews I have read. I still feel Sketch markers are high quality and I am glad they are what I invested in from the beginning.
This purchase of Copic Sketch Markers was a gift to my daughter. She creates amazing drawings with both pencils and markers. She needed a quality set of markers. The two tips on each marker allow for optional ways to create pictures. I just knew after reading other customers reviews that my daughter would churn out outstanding artwork. She adapted to these markers instantly. I would get the set of 36 markers and add new colors individually.
This is my first set of Copic markers, and I have enjoyed using them, these colors are more muted, but that is what I was looking for. The only minor con with these markers, is that they can sometimes bleed from the tips, which can ruin artwork at times. It's usually due to air trapped in the marker, so before use, just open both ends for a moment before using. That solved it for me. Sometimes it's due to manufacturer over filling. Otherwise, the best part about these markers is that they are re-tillable.
I love Copic markers because they blend so effortlessly and really give me a nice finish to all my work. I mainly use them to color stamped images, although I do use them on original artwork and occasionally in mixed media. I have had issues lately with the Copics I received from Blick, which is very unusual, but they immediately made it right and replaced the markers that were completely dried out on arrival. I had given away my entire collection and had to buy quite a few markers at a time, so perhaps it was just bad luck that a number of markers were duds given the number I ordered. I will continue to use Blick and to buy Copics. I know they are expensive, but they are refillable and I find they usually last a good long while before I need to refill them.
