I haven't used the fryer part so can't comment on that, but he steamer insert is too small and the veggies fall off into the water. Also, the feet on the bottom are metal and that concerns me for scratch reasons so I just threw it away. The pot itself is GREAT!! I'm about to go buy the 10" round and replace my other 'non stick' pan with it!!!

The only minor flaw is that it is designed to pull fat away from the food so the pan slopes ever so slightly to the outer edges. This made it difficult to create a roux as I needed to tilt the pan on it's edge to dissolve the flour. I wanted this pan, but was skeptical after reading online reviews
17 December 2016

My biggest reason for buying this pan was for the deep frying. I have never invested in any kitchen item to deep fry except for my old "chicken fryer" pan from the early '90s. It had never been deep enough to accommodate the oil/food and the pan had gotten dented in a fit of rage(lol) so the lid never fit on it again. This pan is truly a fryer and the basket makes things super easy. The first thing I made was homemade potato skins. I used cooled, baked potatoes, cut in half(leaving about 1/2inch of potato for a hearty potato skin) and cooked 8 halves at a time! Bear in mind the size of the potatoes were 4 to 5 inches long! They were perfect! In the morning I made a skillet breakfast consisting of eggs, bacon and frozen potatoes O'Brien. Slid right around the pan!Where I started as a skeptic, I believe now that the bad reviews were by people who treated the pan badly. I read the instructions BEFORE I used it and it specifies the do's and don'ts. The handle of the fry basket didn't even get hot and I left it attached during the deep frying! I love my new pan!

The first problem is that the steamer tray was supposed to have stand-off legs/feet. Those were NOT included, so the steamer function is not there. Second this pan advertised that it works with inductive heating. That is subjective, really. I have two expensive, 1800 watt induction cook tops and both of these fail when using this pan. They both show an overheat warning, a few minutes after trying to use the pan. The cookers are fine, as today, when I tried to use the Copper Chef pan, the unit went into "overheat" and turned off. But, then I put a 10 quart stock pot full of water on the cook top and boiled water. If the units were defective and would over heat from use, they would when trying to boil two gallons of water. I consulted the instruction "booklet" to find what to do with the plastic coverings the steamer (one side is blue, the other is clear) but it didn't address the issue and I couldn't find a customer service phone number so I removed them, slicing a knuckle in the process. Bad design and lacking instructions.Next, I needed to boil three potatoes. I use an induction plate. They did boil but it seemed to take forever so after I'd finished that meal, I put two cups in each of the Copper Chef and a saucepan and turned the burner on, one at a time with a stopwatch going. The CC also took almost twice as much time to come to a boil as the traditional pan.The thing went back to the store the next day.

Poor quality, flaw in new pan, manufacturer will not honor warranty
4 January 2018

Received this as a Christmas gift, and brand new out of the box is a significant flaw in the interior copper surface of the pan that will affect the cooking and non-stick. I contacted the manufacturer customer service as per owner's manual, for replacement under warranty. They informed me they would not replace it because I do not have a receipt (It was a gift, I explained again, offering to immediately email pictures of the new pan, the flaw, the original box with UPC, all the paperwork and cardboard and plastic packaging .... or....send it back to the manufacturer in the original box for replacement). Manufacturer refused to honor the warranty, refused to stand by their flawed product. Of note the warranty says to get a replacement the customer has to PAY THE SHIPPING to send the pan back and SEND AN ADDITIONAL $14.99 by check or money order to get a "replacement!" Basically you are purchasing a new pan, not getting a replacement under warranty. We have an omlette pan from Tristar Cooper Chef Pro and it warped after a few months so that it rocks on the stove and won't sit flat, and heats unevenly. I would suggest that these pans are low to medium quality at best and are priced too high for the low quality you get. If you get them as a gift with no way to get a receipt, the manufacturer will NOT work with you and will NOT HONOR THE WARRANTY. Will not purchase Cooper Chef Pro again, and will not purchase any Tristar product.

The best, versatile pan!
25 August 2019

I looked at this pan for months and didn't like the price. We also don't deep dry, but couldn't buy the pan without the fryer insert. Finally bought it half off, and it's now absolutely our favorite pan. New use for the fryer insert: We cook my GF pasta in it, fryer insert in place during the cooking, and then just lift it out instead of having to pour it into a strainer and risk getting scalded. Brilliant pan for many uses. We already had three fry pans, and we love this deeper pan for stir fries and curries. No more worries about spilling over the edges with stirring. And the real bonus is the fabulous no stick surface.

We are so happy with the Copper Chef products
28 August 2017

We are so happy with the copper chef products. They are so easy to clean. Just like advertised. It took us a few times to get used to the little differences in the heating of these pans, compared to our other pans (Stainless steel, and Teflon pans). My husband loves to cook over-easy eggs in them. The egg doesn't stick to the pan, and it is easier to flip it over in the Copper Chef pan, than in our normal pans. We now have two different Copper Chef pans. The first one we bought about six-months ago. It's non-stick capabilities still work, we can use any of our utensils (Metal, wood, etc...) while cooking with it, and we can use a soapy sponge to clean it when done.
