I love corelle, i bought this corelle livingware splendor 16 piece dinnerware set. It is really very beautifull dinner set. I’ve had in mind to buy another Corelle dinnerware set for a very long time. One day I decided that my other plates are too heavy for everyday use and I purchased this gorgeous, lightweight set. I am very happy that I finally did. I love the square shape of the plates with their rounded corners, the size of the bowls and the pattern. The bowls only have a red edge, no pattern. I use this set all the time now, my husband and son love it as well.

I had a set of four for years and at that time that was all I needed. The first set lasted so well I decided to add to my set and buy another set. These dishes are very durable! Like I said my first set I still have and use daily!! I also love that they don't take up a lot of space in the cabinet. They are light weight. They go in the Microwave, dishwasher and even the oven up to 350°. I have dropped them many times (I have a hand that randomly gives out) and they haven't broke yet. The first set I have had for close to 10 years and the look as good as the set I just bought. I highly recommend these dishes. I love them!!!♥️♥️

However, I had bought it as "extras", because I already have this pattern set for 8 that was from my wedding registry years ago. I was surprised to see how much the price has went up double since when it was on my registry; especially since now it cost about the price of mine, but for only a 4-place setting instead. I love this pattern, which is why I wanted "extras". We had a few Corelle items break when it dropped from our table to our floor; you won't have to worry about it breaking if it falls on the carpet or a rug, but it will break if it falls on to hard flooring from a height of an average dining table or higher. Also, only the plates and bowls are made of vitrelle, the mugs are made of stoneware... which is why mine had a chip on it. This is not just for this pattern, ALL Corelle mugs are made of stoneware. On their official website, they explain this by stating that cups can't be made of vitrelle like the plates and bowls because of the narrowness of mugs and cups. Despite returning this order, I still highly recommend the product and brand because I have this set; and I would have gladly exchanged it but the store did not carry it and it was only available online instead.
I ordered 3 sets of these since they are made in the USA and they are a durable product. We've owned a set for over twenty years and still use them but we needed to replace some other dishes that are just to heavy to handle due to arthritis and getting older. I received them a few days after ordering so Walmart did their job satisfactorily . I had one of the plates chipped and contacted Corelle through email a couple days ago and still waiting for a response from them since the plates come with a three year warranty and it was received chipped from the factory since I couldn't find any pieces in the box it was shipped in.
I ordered 2 of these sets for my mom who lives in another state. l was shocked when they were delivered that day. My mom was unhappy that there were no cups, but I explained that they didn't come with any. The bowls are small (maybe enough for 2 scoops of ice cream). Trying to find matching pieces is very hard and expensive. She really likes the pattern and she needed something lightweight so its easier for her to use.
I've purchased many sets of Corelle, some with cups, some without. However, I have never purchased a full dinnerware set that came with normal big dinner plates, then tiny small appetizer plates. To me, a dinnerware set should have dinner plates and medium plates, not the small plates that are useless for anything other than putting a teacup on. The tiny plates included used to come with a circle in the center to rest your cup on, and that's all they were good for, barely big enough to fit a piece of toast on. The sets are being returned, and I'll look for something that includes decent sized plates. I feel there will be more people buying Corelle dishes as our population gets older. They are so much lighter, but strong. I still have a few bowls that I bought, and used daily, 40 years ago. They were only white back then and now come in pretty patterns and shapes. I tried stoneware, but they are too heavy. When I got ahead financially, I tried porcelain. Lighter, but very fragile and too expensive to keep replacing. My Correlle dishes are pretty, light, strong, and reasonably priced. They even make matching serving pieces. What more could I ask.?
