I have owned Corelle dinnerware for all of my adult life and would never consider another brand. They are made in the U.S.A. (but the mugs are made in China and are not the same quality as the plates and bowls). They are extremely durable, and I have never had any pieces break, chip, or crack. They are not recommended for stovetop, broiler or in a toaster oven. But they are microwavable and can be warmed in a conventional oven on "Warm" setting. Love the Winter Frost White as it allows the food to take center stage and makes for a great presentation. Good for everyday or entertaining guests. Plan on buying more Corelle pieces in the future. Walmart packaged these very well for shipping and they arrived in excellent condition.

These are the basic classic Corelle soup bowls. I am having a gathering of friends %26 needed more soup bowls for my guests. I love the size of these as they are not too big %26 guests can always have another bowl of soup. They are super easy to clean. I have also dropped one on my hard floor %26 it did not break...I was delighted because I know if they hit "just right" they can break. Well worth the money. ")

I bought 3 boxes of the winter white Corelle 4 place settings dinnerware before I married in the spring of 1989. I have had to replace a few that have broken over the years, but those have been few and far between. I use these with crystal for elegant dinners and with plastic cups for outside BBQs. I like this size bowl for cereal or oatmeal in the mornings or soup for dinner. I don’t think you can go wrong with Corelle.
I wanted the smaller berry size bowls but obviously ordered the wrong ones the first time. I tried to convey that message several times but it didn't work. If you don't have the SMALLER ones, PLEASE DO NOT send the soup sized ones again. Just refund my payment.
In 1980 I got a 16 pc Winter White Corelle service for 4 for Christmas!! 36 years later and I still have all of the original pcs: 4 dinner & 4 bread plates, 4 cereal/soup bowls, and since I never liked the odd, open coffee cup handles, I donated the 4 cups. One of the dinner plates is warped, and noticeable only when stacked. Several pcs have small, light tan-colored stains, possibly from rust?Since that day I've picked up additional pieces & patterns in retail, resale & thrift shops, building up a service for 10 incl. server pcs. Today I have only 7 of those additional pieces left because they CAN BREAK and more than 20 pcs have broken over the years. Mostly they hit carpeted or vinyl flooring and bounce a bit.All in all, Corelle is a good investment. Mostly they hit carpeted or vinyl flooring and bounce a bit.All in all, Corelle is a good investment. They're light weight, which is great for the young & old. The material could be considered high fashion when looking at a fully set table. They don't lose their sheen and I feel they're as good an investment today as they were 36 years ago! Having a Winter White set mixed with other complimentary patterns makes for a pretty table setting. Thanks.Happy Holidays to all.
I've used Corelle for dishware all my life, I'm 70 and I've never had one break. My cat got on my counter opened my top cabinet door and pulled my Corelle bowls out. They bounced off the counter onto the floor. Three out of five broke. I was flabbergasted. Corelle isn't supposed to break. I replaced them but they don't have all the same identifying information.
Ordered 18 bowls, but only 17 were delivered. The bowls were shipped in one overall container containing three individual containers that should have held six bowls per individual container. Unfortunately, one container only had five bowls.
Still have my whole 16-piece Winter Frost set from 1973, other pieces that I have added, and some of my mom's pieces from her sets with the golden butterflies and the little green flowers. I love them.I like the plain white as they can be dressed up or down with various table accessories. They are light, so if you have bad wrists, or arthritis, these are for you, as opposed to stoneware or the heavier porcelains. They are thin, stack well, and you can fit a lot of pieces in smaller spaces. They will sometimes get a bit of a rust stain (from being against metal objects), but soak for a few minutes in a bleach water solution and that disappears. Mine have been dropped so many times, with kids, etc.. They don't break near as easily as porcelain, stoneware, or glass. ... MoreStill have my whole 16-piece Winter Frost set from 1973, other pieces that I have added, and some of my mom's pieces from her sets with the golden butterflies and the little green flowers. They are most vulnerable if dropped when very cold-- as in when they have had ice cream in them, or have been in the freezer keeping something cold.
