We received this set of dishes as a wedding gift. My wife loves the playful-yet-mature pattern! Gives the hand-painted look while taking up less than half the space of actual ceramic dishes. My only gripe is that, since the pattern has a slight texture and extends down into the food area in the center, our cutlery scrapes against it making an unpleasant nails-on-chalkboard sensation.

Extremely attractive product. we have decided to purchase an entire suite of portofino pieces based on the one that we ordered and we are excited to use them. Growing up, Corelle was a staple in our homes but we shied away from buying it after we had our own home because it was not very attractive. Now Corelle has solved this by making a new appealing line of products!

Great addition to my Portofino Dinnerware set. This plate can serve both as a luncheon plate or a salad plate. I have even used it for a soup and sandwich meal or for a salad and pasta meal. In both of these cases, you do not need a plate as large as a dinner plate.

Great addition to my Portofino Dinnerware set. This plate can serve both as a luncheon plate or a salad plate. I have even used it for a soup and sandwich meal or for a salad and pasta meal. In both of these cases, you do not need a plate as large as a dinner plate.
I was hesitant to buy Corelle for my new plates since they make me think of my grandma. However, I loved the blues and pattern on these, and because they’re lightweight but sturdy they were the best choice for our family with young kids. I now feel safe letting my kids use ‘grownup plates,’ which I did not with our old porcelain plates. The salad plate is a great size for my lunch or their dinner, and so far has held up well to a 4 and 6 yr old.
When I lived I got rid of my 1970s Corelle and bought Fiestaware. I regretted the decision from the first day I made it. Corelle is so light weight and doesn’t get hot in the microwave. Two big problems with the other brand. Two years later I reversed the decision and got Corelle for Christmas and gave away the other dishes. My Portofino dishes are beautiful and I bought these matching salad plates to round out my set. I couldn’t be happier.
It’s a beautiful set. I’ve been using Corelle dishes for the last 45 years and love them.They’re light and easy on your hands. They wash beautifully. Just be careful to use the least strong chemical dishwasher tab in your dishwasher. When I saw this set I decided to give my 35+ year old Corelle dishes (Calla Lilly) to my daughter-in-law and get the new set. My old set is still as lovely as when I first purchased it so many years ago & my daughter-in-law is glad to take it.
I originally bought the cafe blue plate set that have darker blue boarder on them. The set did not include salad plates and I found the appetizer plates were a little too small. So I ordered the Portofino salad plates. They actually blend very well with my set and the size is perfect for a salad or even my dinner plate. Very happy with the pretty design too.
I mix these in with Bella Faenza salad plates and Winter White Frost dinner plates. But also use these for smaller individual servings (grilled cheese sandwich; baked potato, etc) Can feel the pattern as if it were printed before being fired (my guess). But this is not objectionable. These plates are easy to use, wash & store. Should have been using Corelle a long time ago.
In truth I confess that I have not even opened the nicelyboxed packs the plates arrived in - they will go into a bigcrate, travel a few thousand miles and hopefully arrive inthe condition sent to make a grand daughter very happyas she settles in with her hubby and baby.

The old sets were passed on to family members who I think are still using them today. The are almost unbreakable, and hold up well to daily use and dishwasher sanitizing and cleaning. I collect Polish Pottery and the pattern I purchased, Portofino, resembles it. The dinner set did not include the salad plate which I wanted, so had to order it separately. My set is now complete and will service our dining needs for a long, long, time. I would definitely and have recommend Corelle to others.
