I first came across these bowls at a thrift shop 10 years ago. They've since been become my favorite dish in the house! Sadly if you have broken over the years but thankfully I have found them replacement that I needed! These bowls are perfect for children cereal, husband's big bowl of stew, last minute doggie bowl! When I ordered these, I was flip-flopping between ordering 3, or 4 bowls, as I didn't really need 4. By the time they arrived, I had forgotten how many I ordered. I saw a small box inside the shipping box containing 3 bowls, so I assumed that's what I ordered. I took the shipping box and all the packing materials to the burn barrel. After I was done, I noticed there was something in the ash at the bottom. It was the FOURTH BOWL!! So, I estimate that bowl being immersed in temperatures upward of 1,300°F. I grabbed pliers in order to remove the scalding hot bowl. It was BLACK. Figured I'd be throwing it away. Long story short, about a half hour with a SOS pad & a little elbow grease, and she's looking brand new!! These bowls are really the ones you'll want to pair with any of the dinnerware sets that have black in them. I have City Block and the bowls that come with the set are too small for Soups or cereal. Plus these 28 oz. Bowls are not available with the City Block double black band so the Classic Cafe Black was a good option. They look great together.

I bought these about a month ago to add to my current set of 8. I realized when the kids are home from college they eat a lot of cereal and I need extras really fast. Wow how fast the time goes. When it was only a family of 2 our setting was sufficient. But now the kids returned to eat like never before! I would definitely recommend these bowls to anyone.
These are excellent for any kitchen. Simple design. Great surface that's easy to clean. And, they're far more difficult to break than most other dinnerware. All of that side, they're a bit smaller than my previous set making the smaller plates barely usable and the biggest hit is the limited capacity of the bowls. The good news is the addition of the Corelle Livingware 1032595 28-Ounce Super Soup/Cereal Bowl, Winter Frost White - Set of 6 solves the bowl issue. They're excellent for big bowls of soup or cereal. The only downside is the price, the six of them cost nearly as much as this entire set making for a much more expensive purchase overall.
I love my corelle dishes for everyday use and it is difficult to find replacements for the older patterns. I was so happy to find Instant Brands that carries my old pattern. I love the new bowls and it's nice to have enough to use for the whole week again...
Everyone knows Corelle dishes are the best, but do they know they're also recommend for use as pet dishes? I've been using them for decades for the furballs, and as we added a new floof, I needed to add to my stock. I use the smaller condiment bowls for their food, and the cereal bowls for their water. I love that the bowls are such easy-care and are practically indestructible. If you've ever seen an "Explosion of Cats"- when one cat freaks about something (who knows what) and they all pop into the air, scattering food everywhere- you know what I mean. The bowls are vet approved, and so easy to take care of. Pop in the dishwasher for cleaning and sanitizing and that's it!
I have had several of these bowls for years, but recently made bowl cozies to put under bowls to use in the microwave. These bowls are the perfect size for cereal or soup. I love them so much, I bought 30. I needed 22 for my project and got some extras for myself and maybe future projects. They are really great size and strong too.
I have looked for good quality, food safe products that I can safety serve food in to my little ones and discovered they are really hard to find, no matter the price. Even harder to find are dishes that are made in the U.S. I've had these dishes for 10 years and they never break, no matter the scenario. We had to buy more bowls and I was so glad you still had this classic blue and white diner style. The quality is top notch and I'm so glad they are made here.
I got my set of Corelle in 1972. Since it never broke or aged, I sent it to college with my daughter in the '90's. Since then she has married and has two boys. When I visited her last fall, she was down to about 6 mismatched stoneware plates and one plate left of my original Corelle set. But she had purchased some new bowls in the Classic Black Café pattern. I thought they looked really nice and she really liked them. So I purchased more bowls and some plates in that pattern for her for Christmas. She was so excited when it arrived. They were going to put it under the tree but were too anxious to start using it. We should have gotten her more Corelle a few years back. I had no idea there was such a variety of patterns to choose from now. I will keep adding to her ... MoreI got my set of Corelle in 1972.
