My grandfather had a set of these bowls which is where I first came across them and I loved them. They were so durable and lightweight which made me decide to buy some for myself. I have a little girl who likes to help set the table and with this set I don’t have to worry as much about her dropping them and the plates shattering. I couldn’t recommend this set enough. It’s hard to picture myself ever buying another brand after buying these. I highly recommend this set!

Ordered a set online for curbside pick-up. The dishes seem to be the same excellent quality that Corelle has always produced. I've used various shapes and sizes of mugs from their different sets over the years but always made with the same trusted material and quality as the dishes. The stoneware mugs look out of place with the rest of the set and more importantly are heavier than the older styles. Because I bought this to have a matching set and opted for Corelle due to the impeccable quality and lightweight product they've always produced, I will be returning as soon as the store re-opens to customers. I need the lighter weight mugs for health reasons so I will look for a used older set instead. White glazes are notorius for cutlery marking. Being curious, I searched for online reviews of these mugs and found an example of horrible marking in the bottom portion of the mug from spoons. What's the point of having a set of dishes that still look great in 10 or 50 years if the mugs look terrible? I'll stick to sets with the real Corelle vitrelle mugs, even if I have to buy them used. Giving 4 of 5 stars because the 4 dishes in each place setting of this set are impeccable as expected. Unfortuneately, the mugs are a massive fail, IMO.

This is a really nice dinnerware set. These dishes are classic with a simple elegance, space saving since they stack very well, and most importantly to us, non toxic and lead free. They don't scuff or mar and silverware doesn't leave marks. They are a lot stronger then they look as well, I accidentally hit the edge of a stack of plates on my granite countertop. I expected to find that I had cracked some of the plates but there was zero damage, the plates survived my clumsiness. I was both amazed and relieved. We've already received compliments, this is really a perfect set of dinnerware.

I can't say enough good things about Corelle brand products. If you are deciding whether to get Corelle, I would strongly advise it, and I'll tell you why below:Reason 1 - This dish ware lasts forever. These do not stain, hold odors, chip, scratch, and have only been broken by my kids (and I've dropped them myself too, just picked them up like nothing happened) and the painted on design has yet to come off. I've had these for about 4 years and they still look incomparable to this new set I am reviewing. Only way you can tell is the backside has a different logo.To further explain how long they last, my mother is in her late 40's, and my grandparents have the same Corelle dish set from when my mother was a child. They are the plain white set and the white is as bright and vibrant as the white parts in my set. Even the logo on the bottom is still there. Only difference is my set has a design.I plan on keeping these until I die. They are extremely durable and never age. I bought a neutral design that will most likely not go out of style, and if you plan on buying a set for the long haul, I recommend buying one that can be stylish decades from now. And unless you don't have kids, I would recommend buying spare dishes in case they do break. I have 14 big plates, 14 small plates and 13 bowls with 4 of each in an unopened package.Reason 2 - these dishes take up very little space. They stack neatly and assume a small profile in cabinets. Great if you don't have a lot of kitchen storage.Reason 3 - besides the cheap ceramic mugs in some of Corelle's sets, most all of Corelle's products are made in the USA. With buying these, not only are you helping the environment by not having to buy dishes ever again which uses energy to manufacture and ship to you, but these don't have to go on a boat from another country to get to you. You save a lot of gas from them being manufactured here in the U.S. Additionally you are supporting domestic production by supporting companies that pay the workers who run an maintain factories. If you want to buy more products like these, Corelle is part of a company that owns other brands like Pyrex. Buy glass storage containers that you can reuse forever without having to use the cheap plastic food containers that stain and you have to replace every once in a while, and also can leak chemicals into your food. The only thing you have to replace are the plastics lids, which you can recycle. But cheap plastic containers have lids too, so in the end you're saving money and the environment. Thanks for reading!
This is not my first purchase of Corelle dishes, plates and bowls. I bought these because the last time i was satisfied in every respect that i had wished for, and thus had utter confidence in the product. Corelle is unique among all types of dinnerware. It is neither porcelain nor crockery (and also doesn't share their cost, weight, and tendency to chip or break when dropped), nor is it melamine, a plastic, or similar material. It is also not paper or cardboard, which may beat it in terms of weight, but who wants to eat off a plate that disintegrates during use? That bends, breaks and launches your food to the floor (or at another person!) That children have an especially hard time handling? I have higher standards when it comes to dining. I cannot and do not subject my guests putting their food onto paper products.I bought this set for my new RV. I had the same set in a beige color for our previous RV, and it served me and my deceased husband in good stead for over twenty years. Now i am alone, and i needed a smaller one. I sold the beige Corelle dishes with the RV, and bought these white ones for the new one. They are excellent anywhere, but are especially well-suited for RV life! They nest so well that four plates together don't add up to a lot of space, the pack doesn't rattle in transit (i do put one paper towel between the plates), and I don't have to worry about breakage! Unlike melamine, which may be as sturdy but is not as personally satisfying as the laminated glass of Corelle is, it can go in the microwave and even the oven! What other product can you say that about! The practicality alone makes it stand head and shoulders above the competition! I enjoy setting a nice table, eating off good plates and using S/S utensils. I am indeed very pleased!
I bought 2 of these sets I have had many sets of dishes over our marriage. I received a set of white corelle when we married decades ago. And still had a few of the plates in my cabinet and we always reached for them. I'm taking out most of my heavier peices and replacing all of it with these sets. I also found the cups and few coordinating pieces. I have a lot of Fiesta and I'm keeping a few serving dishes for color. While it has held up well I'm replacing it with these go to lightweight light dishes. I love them and great deal from Macy's. Got 2 sets for what one set usually cost, for gatherings. All arrived intact. None broken, which can happen but not this time
The set is poorly made compared to my earlier version of Corelle dinnerware. These were to be a replacement of our existing Corelle sets which now have a crackled finish around the edges. The soup/cereal bowls bowls are child sized, as well as the salad plates which seem more appropriate for a dinner roll. Additionally the finish of the items is uneven. Very, very disappointing and not easy to return (2) sets of dinnerware.
Smaller than previous versions of this exact style. The dinner plates are a couple millimeters smaller, the desert plates are at least an inch small and the bowls are about a centimeter or so smaller measuring across each piece. I bought to replace broken pieces and now i have different sizes. Also, dirty hand marks must be washed with a Magic eraser-type sponge.
So happy to have found the 12-piece set (serving for 4, without coffee mugs). It is exactly what I wanted and at a price that I could afford.I needed to replace my existing dinnerware due to the weight of each item. We chose Corelle because of the weight and other features, i.e. being ‘break resistant’. Absolutely critical with my hands, since I have a tendency to drop anything that has any weight. The nice thing is they extremely well-made and help retain heat. This can also be a hazard if not prepared, especially coming out of the microwave (we sit them on a mat, towel, hot pad holder, etc. to handle). Our plan is to primarily utilize the white dishes, and supplement with various other designs, or colors as desired, in the future.
We've been using Corelle dishes for many years-I think they are the best dishes available. I recently inherited a mixed set of the patterns "pansy" and "summer blush" both of which were retired some time ago-but did not come with any lunch plates. The "replacements" are not common and are way too expensive for me-so I decided to order the plain white because I can mix and match to go with my pansy patterns. Although they label the color "winter frost white"-it's plain white to me.I love Corelle dishes because they are lightweight, a stack of many of them takes little space in the kitchen cabinet, they are dishwasher safe, they can take a beating for many years and still look like new, and they are suitable for a "nice" dinner as well as a "casual" dinner. I think that the company no longer advertises them as "unbreakable", but in all the years of using various patterns of Corelle dishes, I think maybe one has broken ever. They are simply the best.P.S. the lunch size plates are the perfect size for "light" dinners. We use them for most all meals.UPDATE: Our house has tile floors and I've always said that anything dropped is guaranteed to break. Well tonight I dropped one of these Corelle dishes and....it DID NOT break! Amazing!I write honest reviews to help others make informed purchases because I read reviews myself and appreciate how helpful they can be. I hope that my review helped you!
