Corner Tamping Mat - Tiamo

This mat works well supporting the single spout portafilter while levelling and tamping. I usually use the double spout portafilter sitting on a standard mat to dose and tamp as this is the easiest and quickest to use. I may use the corner mat in future if I get a bottomless portafilter.

Excellent addition to coffee station

This is excellent. I can’t understand why some people don’t have a tamping mat. It protects your bench top, and your portafilter, and it catches any overflowing grounds while tamping.

Get a grip on your espresso

With rounded bullnose edges on my kitchen bench, getting a good tamp wasn't easy, this tamping mat solved these problems and also gave me a place to rest my NCD

Good quality product

I needed this glass cup for baking coffee creme brûlée for a beautiful dessert. It was perfect for my intended use. It was finer and lighter than I was anticipating so that was a pleasant surprise. The product is made in Japan, where quality is a priority. I would certainly recommend.

Good…but

The mat is essential if you have ay type of granite bench top. The Group head holder, though doesn’t seem to fit all group heads which means I would have preferred that piece to not be there. Otherwise, good product

Perfect size for the smaller coffee station.

Perfect for the smaller coffee station! Only drawback was the overhang interferes with the drawer below (thin stone bench top), soon fixed that with some careful knife-work!

Simple and very effective

The mat has been much more useful than I initially expected - an easy way to tamp the coffee without pressing down the portafilter onto a hard work surface - so it has stopped the damage that was occurring to the plastic drip through (on my Smeg model) where the coffee extracts into the cup.Only slight negative is that it tends to attract dust and coffee residue to its rubber material, but nothing that detracts from its daily usefulness.

Tiamo Tamping mat, Great addition!

The Tiamo rubber tamping mat is a great addition for safely storing the tamper, it is made out of a durable rubber construction and very sturdy. The tamper seat has fine rubber teeth for a quick spin to clean the tamper from fine coffee grounds.

Works well

Great for a small space which is what I’m working with. Will upgrade to a bigger mat once I have more space but this is really nice for a compact work area. Also easy to clean and good quality
