Very quiet and smooth operation.I recently purchased the Corsair 650, and while it is advertised as a semi-modular power supply, I noticed that it doesn't quite match my expectations. It states that it comes with 6 SATA connectors, but mine only has 3. However, I want to emphasize that the overall quality of the product is very good. The design is robust, and it performs well for my needs. I would recommend this product, but it would be great if the specifications were more accurately reflected. Thank you!

A good budget minded power supply

This PC power supply by Corsair is a great entry for the budget minded builder. At $49.99 (after rebate) as of this writing, it’s in a lower price range than its direct competitors. In the box is the power supply, cables, screws, zip ties (how thoughtful), warranty, and safety booklet. This power supply is *not* a modular design. This means you’ll have a giant nest of cables to contend with whether you’re using them all or not. They are housed in a mesh sleeve at least. These cables include the standard 24-pin ATX, an 8-pin (4+4) EPS, 4 PCIe 8-pin (6+2), 8 SATA and 8 4-pin molex. The looks are as with most power supplies, fairly simple. The CX750 has an 80 Plus Bronze certification, which means it would draw roughly 182 watts at 20% load, 441 watts at 50% load, and 914 watts at full load (at 115 volts) (say hello to your new microwave, ha!). It also means there’s no fan-off mode, which is fine because the fan is a large, quiet, 140mm. At 750 watts there’s plenty of juice for the type of system this is intended for and it should work great for a modest gaming system. Overall this power supply from Corsair is a great choice for the frugal PC builder, definitely a good deal with the rebate. Spending a little extra could get you the highly touted EVGA of similar specs with an 80 Plus Gold certification, not to mention a modular design, saving you from the rats nest of cables to ensue, if you care about such things. A solid 4 eggs. A nice piece but it doesn’t stand out in any way to this reviewer.

Fewer outputs but did the job

This was a like-for-like replacement for a PSU that had served me well for more than ten years. It was thick with dust and, as my father-in-law used to say, it didn't owe me anything. When the new one came, I was surprised to see that it didn't have as many outputs as the old one (quite the octopus), despite being the very same model number. Still, there were enough, it's working fine and it's quiet.

No Modular Cabling, Why?!

There are a lot of PSU's out there, so choosing one can be pretty confusing if you aren't familiar with the market. Corsair is a trusted brand and they do a good job putting together a near silent PSU that will last a very long time. They include a generous warranty to give you peace of mind, but currently my oldest Corsair PSU is about 10 years old, running every day, all day long, and I still can't even hear it. Many people go overboard when buying a PSU, 750Watts is more than enough power for basically everyone. You only need this much power if you are running multiple graphics cards in your Desktop. If you only have one GPU in there, even if you're using liquid cooling, this PSU will be overkill. You don't want to run it at 3% load, or 97% load. So figure out your computers power requirements at idle and full load (there are calculators online to help you with this, though many are bad, do your research.) and buy a PSU that's appropriate for your particular needs. More is not always better!

Nothing wrong with mine

I suspect that my power supply was sent back because the original purchaser did not troubleshoot the unit before sending it back. Apparently, Corsair's tech department tested the unit as good and chalked it up to an unknowing owner. What NEITHER of them did, was test the power cable, which was defective. I have a large supply of power cables so I simply replaced the power cable with a known good one. Computer powered right up. Looks like I got a new unit for the price of a refurb! :-) This is the second Corsair power supply I've purchased this year. I really like the CX series of power supplies. I called Corsair's tech support and found out that the 8 pin connector which is permanently wiring to the power supply [8 pin EPS, labeled CPU] actually snaps apart, to provide you with two P4 connectors. So if you need a power supply for your older motherboard, do not discount this unit, for not having a P4 connector. FYI, this feature exists on all the Corsair CX series power supplies. I checked on my CX500M and it also has it.

Satisfied with my purchase

The unit I got had a scratch on it but that doesn't affect function and it was on the side that's hidden against the case. But it's a brilliant PSU, I got the 750W for both me and my partner. One white and one black, running Ryzen 5000 CPUs, RTX 3090 and the other with a GTX 1070 Ti. Was a bit concerned with the power spikes but it has held strong since November. Blue comes with black cables, white with white. RGB is very bright and can be synced to your system via 3 pin 5v ARGB header. TLDR: Good unit, RGB, Fully Modular, reliable.
