This headset is a great example of something that should be very popular and everybody recommends, but gets overshadowed by the competition and almost forgotten about. Two examples of this are: It completely outclasses the Razer Nari by offering an extremely similar experience for about $50 less, and it weighs less than the Nari as well so it's not too bad for long gaming sessions. This headset is in the same price bracket as the HyperX Cloud II, and again has a very similar experience except the HS70 Pro is wireless where the HyperX Cloud II is wired, and yet everybody talks about the Cloud II instead. What I like:- soft leatherette earcups and headband- small earcups so you don't look like a goof while wearing it- detachable mic w/dedicated mute button on the ... I wouldnt recommend this to someone who expects great audio quality. The extremely bass heavy and muffled audio makes everything sound disappointing. This headset is more geared towards people looking to trade audio quality for convenience of a comfortable wireless experience. If thats what youre looking for then maybe this headset is for you with the extremely comfortable headband, ear cups and many integrated controls. More details below. BATTERY: It took me about 2.5 hours to charge the headset for about 18 hours worth of usage. I like to crank my volume to the highest setting so my battery usage will be higher. MICROPHONE: Friends on Discord tell me its crystal clear. GAMES: The positional audio was extremely bad. It sucks for competitive games like Apex ... The audio wasnt even bass heavy, it was muffled audio. MOVIES: Extremely disappointing. The overwhelming bass is extremely present in any movie and stream I watched and the higher frequency sounds were muffled. Even when testing with every EQ setting in Dolby Atmos app, the audio is lacking range you can find on speakers and wired headphones. MUSIC: It plays music decently under the music preset in the Dolby Atmos app. The extremely bass heavy and muffled audio still ruin the experience. The Dolby Atmos App has available custom EQ settings but I found it difficult to hone in the listening experience I wanted.

These headphones were a bit of a let-down after my last Steel Series ones. I decided to cheap out after having gone through a few headsets and it feels like you get what you pay for. The construction feels sturdy, they're quite comfortable and I have no problems wearing for a long session. The mic is removable which I quite like. Battery life is fine. However, there is a constant buzz from them. If you're in an action packed game it's not really noticeable, but any game that has moments of silence/quiet it's definitely there. I think next time I'll have to spend a bit more $$.

This headset would have been great, had it lasted. Unfortunately it did not. I bought this in June July 2020, and started having issues in January 2021. At first, just minor issues, like the covering on the earcups was just separating from the earcup itself. Annoying, but not a dealbreaker, headset worked fine. Then the mic stopped functioning entirely. Just ceased. Okay, bigger deal, but I use a boom mic most of the time anyways.Last thing I'm literally wearing the headset, I hear a pop near the left side of my head, The part that holds the earcup from swiveling all the way around just broke. Doing nothing. Not even touching it, just POP.I'd suggest steering clear of this one, given I've seen other folks report similar issues. The functionality was fine, it ... Doing nothing. Not even touching it, just POP.I'd suggest steering clear of this one, given I've seen other folks report similar issues. The functionality was fine, it just seems to be a defective line in it's actual construction.I did not anticipate having to use a warranty so soon, but Corsair's is pretty bad as far as manufacturer warranty processes go. I'd have to pay around a third of the item's cost to ship it to them, and be out of a headset potentially for months. I'm shopping for a replacement from a different manufacturer instead.
Has barely been two years and the battery is completely dead. Without a cable, it will not turn on. Also had to replace the leather ear cup cushions because the leather was tearing. That could be my own fault for not taking care of the leather properly. Regardless, the headset battery failed under normal/light use as a gaming headset then transitioned it into use for work meetings where it would be on for 1-2 hr increments, well below the life of the battery. While it worked it was great, but the battery failing defeats the major reason in getting it. Currently talking to Corsair Support to see if anything can be done. Will update with new info.
These headphones were great! They had excellent sound with great bass. The DAC has some pretty cool functions like a built in equalizer, and a mixer so you can add a second input source. Unfortunately, they just were a little too delicate. The over-ear headphones are joined to the band in only 1 place, and after falling off my hook onto the wooden floor the plastic surrounding that connection broke quite badly. This resulted in some wires inside breaking their connection, so it wasn't just a matter of superglueing it back together. If I was able to purchase the same things with a more sturdy construction I definitely would, but as it stands I wasn't prepared to sink this much into another headset that I felt probably wouldn't last.
These headphones are some of the best I've never had before, they sound great when they are working as intended when 7.1 audio is turned on, and spatial audio feature is already included, and you can alternatively enable Windows Sonic for Headphones, as well as purchase DTS Sound or Dolby Atmos licenses to work with it and improve the sound quality, but I find the built in spatial audio works good enough so no need to purchase those in most cases. The sound is really clear and the bass is great as are the options for adjusting the sound via EQ settings, the default options work great. The product itself seems durable and fits snugly but I question the durability of the volume control and battery. Now for the problems.I've had this for only a few months now and ... Another annoying problem is it beeps and loses connection from time to time. Sometimes it automatically makes random static clicking or popping sounds like a Geiger Counter and just shuts off for no reason, it's probably from some kind of static interference. The sound volume is back on a spot that is you lay down on couch it's easy and annoying to accidentally rub it and adjust the volume by mistake. Sometimes i lay back and relax to listen to music or something only for the volume to go way up when it does that, and it takes a moment to figure out it was the volume control that was accidentally rubbed by a pillow of armrest. The built in microphone is very horrible quality, it sounds very muffled, my old microphones and things from the 90's sound way clearer and better, as does my old Logitech camera built in microphone, but strangely it's great for Window Voice Commands and web searches using voice.Another issue is the soft foam mic cover is very easy to lose, it does not fit snug to the plastic mic end and so it slides right off too easy, that can be anytime from when you sit it down and pick it up and bump or rub another surface during or after charging, or after picking it up or laying it down and it rubs against your leg, a simple fan could blow it off and by time you realize it you search everywhere trying to find it and peace together how it happened.I got it for a reasonable price but these headphones seem to start at $99 on up now, given the problems with battery and other issues the price definitely needs to come down because they really need to fix those type of issues that impact the basic quality and usage of the product.Everything else about it is very well made and because it does offer great sound quality and the battery even though doesn't hold a charge does stay up for a little bit I still recommend it over any of the other similar products. But I probably wouldn't buy another one any time soon at the current price unless the problems were fixed.
Sturdy build and it sounds great. I have compared these to the Razer Nari Ultimates and Steelseries Arctis 7 Pros.Sound wise, this blows them both out of the water. The drivers have a much richer sound and a better sound stage. All of the levels are really clear to listen to. The microphone is also leagues better than the Razer Nari and is on par with the Steelseries.Range and battery wise, I've never had a problem with them losing their charge even on 12 hr gaming sessions and throughout an 8hr work day where I do Mortgage Consultation for a living. The range is a good 30 - 40 feet depending on how many walls are between you and the PC. If only it sent the smell of food through the mic!Software wise, a lot of people have good experience with iCUE. I personally do not and I dread that program. It lags like crazy and is incredibly buggy for me. I downloaded it just to turn off the Mic sidetone for my preference and also turn off the Dolby 7.1 since Surround Sound in headphones really only distributes power (especially poorly in wireless mode) into a "surround like" fashion. Pro tip, do not use THX or Dolby or ANY 7.1 software "enhancer" with wireless headphones, it just doesn't work.Lastly would be comfort. This is my only itch with these headphones. Even though they last for 12 hrs, I cannot bear to wear them for more than 2 hours in a row. The earcups are fine and the headband are fine. They have great materials as well. The problem lies in the clamping force of the headset and Corsair could've done way better. My head isn't large by any means and I also have a few other friends that complain about how hard it clamps. If you have a bigger head, I would spend the extra dollar and get the Steelseries.Ultimately, these headphones have great audio quality and usability for their price point and are easy to recommend. They aren't too comfortable though so I would just recommend people who are picky about that to stay away. I did go with the Steelseries in the end because I found those on clearance, but overall these headphones are great. 4/5.
First, I am not a paid reviewer and have no affiliation with Corsair (although by any means, Corsair...find me on twitter ;) So understand that this review has no bias whilst reviewing the product. Which is a fair position I believe to be at, generally.[SOUND QUALITY = Mic is superior]I'm just going to say it, I believe this headset is one of the best headset you can get for under $100...provided you can survive the lack of RBG colour spectrum splashed somewhere on it. The sound delivered from this device is crisp, it seems full and is able to provide a bass that's not exhaustingly deep, but definitely provides feedback. Whether you're listening to another Joe Rogan Podcast, or providing cover for your squad, You'll be able to listen comfortably. ... Whether you're listening to another Joe Rogan Podcast, or providing cover for your squad, You'll be able to listen comfortably. Although...sadly...the sound dynamics are configured in Stereo leaving something to be desired in terms of a basic 7.1 at this point. Especially if you're comparing it to something like the Razer Nari Essential. Which while we're on the subject of comparison, the main reason I ended up swapping from my Razer to the Corsair HS70 SE version specifically, the microphone. The mic quality without any external vocal EQ's sound fantastic, I unfortunately wasn't able to record samples from both mics, but IMO the Corsair Mic is superior.[BUILD QUALITY = Metal mostly, where it matters at least]So the quality, is right around something you can feel comfortable with kind of tossing onto a chair or something and not being too worried about it falling onto the ground, and stepping on it. Heck, given it's 15 hour battery life, I would say you could probably sleep with it on. The headpiece itself is cushioned, and at the end of both sides is a quality polymer mix bracket, that connects the metal arms supporting the sound drivers. The exterior of the ear piece has a metal mesh, with a corsair logo splatted in the center and in the Interior you'll find ear cushions built with long term use in mind (but practice healthy habits!) constructed with memory foam that's wrapped in potentially a pleather fabric? ** note, inside of the ear cushions there are notches that allow for extruded lobes to sit comfortably** It's also extremely light, so I find it hard to become "fatigued" while wearing this headset. Even if you do need to get up, thankfully its wireless receiver has a 40ft range. So you shouldn't need to take a break from whatever audio you have going.[YOUR WALLET WILL FORGIVE YOU]There are so many options, and I mean...so many options...if you're just looking for a gaming headset. This honestly feels like more than just a gaming headset. It's a headset that you can have Google Meetup meetings with, given it's fantastic mic and crisp audio quality. Then afterwards log into Call of Duty Cold War and experience cinematic audio scenes and talk about Tiger King clearly with your mates. When comparing others headsets it really came down to the mic quality, and overall build. The Sound could be 7.1, also not offering Corsairs RGBSync onto the headset could be a bummer for some, but that battery life is fantastic, range is 40ft which I believe is good enough in a standard situation. It's a strong contender for it's price range.
