I had terrible coil whine on my recently acquired RTX graphics card and someone on a forum stated it may be related to the power supply. I had my doubts but after extensive research this power supply provided the cleanest power. Sure enough, it cured the coil whine so anyone who is putting up with that awful noise should consider upgrading their power supply. Scan was awesome as always. Couldn’t be happier.

Overall an excellent experience with this power supply so far. Runs stable, well packaged and easy to install. My only negative is that the SATA power cables are all connected at 90 degrees with no 180 degree options, so some SSD bays may not be best compatible. I have them bent into 180 degrees but this does apply pressure to the connector. Working for now, but perhaps not recommended.

High quality psu from corsair. Bought this as i upgraded to rx 6800xt so needed a decent psu to run my system. No issues what so ever with this it runs brilliantly. The zero rpm is a great feature as the fan doesnt switch on until around 300w so its basically silent even under load. Recommend to anyone who needs a new power supply. I bought the premium sleeved cables as the inline capacitors on the original wires are a bit chunky.

As normal fast postage :)Took the old one out and had this in and tidy within 1h30m tbh it was harder to get the old one out than putting in the rmx. I like that it's silent fan only spins up when i'm gaming with RT running otherwise i'd not know it's there.I do feel that the rmx white 850 is worth the extra cost, i don't mind the cables at all they are decent on this version, least fit with my build well, but the premium cables all be it white on the other are going to be better and getting an extra set for this i'd like blue but the cost doesn't seem valid given that the provided cables are pretty good quality overall.Really don't have any complaints and for the cost and budget i had this is far better than i'd have expected to get and for me at least by a ... MoreAs normal fast postage :)Took the old one out and had this in and tidy within 1h30m tbh it was harder to get the old one out than putting in the rmx. I've bought 2 of these, the first one I installed killed 2 new Corsair h150i LCD aio's, and the 6 ml120 fans that came with the aio'.. it also killed 6x Corsair LL120 fans that came in the midtower as well. The second RM850X I tried installing earlier today only to find that it's completely dead. I've never had a problem buying refurbished items from scan before until those 2 PSUs, but I have to say that the guys at Scan were absolutely brilliant and replaced all the blown components (except for this 2nd powerpack)
Good Points: With 850w and 90% (Gold) efficiency you are more than ready for RTX 3080/3090I always go for a fully modular PSU. I dont like a mess in my case and today's RBG and other beautifications requires to have the absulute cabling you need an not null cables going around. One reason I would never trust a PSU of a lower price is the quality of the cables. The moment you open a Corsair PSU box and you grab the cables, you know you did the right thing. Cables are not just cables and I would strongly recomend you do a research on this matter, no matter how expensive or not your system is.Corsair are known for thier exceptional build, and the x Series deliveres just that. This is a Tank of a 850w and for the money you are getting a lot of a premium build. ... MoreGood Points: With 850w and 90% (Gold) efficiency you are more than ready for RTX 3080/3090I always go for a fully modular PSU. Again, a metal housing is not just a housing, and you can feel the diference when you have this PSU in your hands and anything else from budget brands. With 10 Years Warranty Corsair stand behind its product with the highest confidence there is. Corsair is know to support users, replace hardware and keep their promise for warranty, which however its rarelly needed, as their products hardly fail even on the most demanding setups. With Gold Certification you will enjoy the 90% efficiency at 50% load, which will cover you for most gaming setups today. Finally, its sillent like the song (the xmass song) and will stay silent over the time. Is there anything worse than having a psu thats too noisy or start to rattle after 6 months? Well, the questions is rhetorical, but do keep in mind this is the first factor people forget when they buy a PSU, particularly of high Watts.NB: For those who wonder, the case on the photo is a MetalicGear New Cube, with a DEEPCOOL Castle 240EX cooler and the fans are upHere PWM ARGB.Improvement Points: Cables at the end connectors could be better sleeved. I am not particularly complaining, but the ends are so naked that GPUs look plain ugly in a setup for beauty hunters. The same goes for the motherboard power cable, which again look... well not nice. Both point can be solved with a set of sleeved extensions, but I would rather not adding extensions just for that reason. EVGA is doing better with cables, but you pay the extra monies as well.
Upgraded my PSU as needed for a newer GPU.This came well repackaged as a refurbished item, with a full compliment of cables as well as mounting screws for the PSU itself. Both the PSU and cables are very high quality and are currently performing very well. I was a little unsure on purchasing a refurbished item, but I can definitely say my concerns are no more and would definitely purchase again if needed. It was delivered much quicker than I expected, so definitely 5* for both Corsair and Scan!
As you'd expect, the unit does what it says on the tin. In the short time I've had it installed and for the minimal use the computer has had since then, there have been no issues with it. I bought this to replace a TW850X, and the only thing I would say is that unless you're already pretty clued up, I'd think twice before attempting to install it yourself. I consider myself to have probably slightly above what would be considered average knowledge of the inside of a computer, and I ended up calling someone else in to finish the job on the basis that I'd rather pay them now than after I've messed it up. The installation instructions that come with it are pretty basic, and if you're anything less than 100% sure what you're looking at when you open up the computer, may ... MoreAs you'd expect, the unit does what it says on the tin. The installation instructions that come with it are pretty basic, and if you're anything less than 100% sure what you're looking at when you open up the computer, may not be enough for you to do it yourself; in fact, ironically, if you were clued up enough to be able to do the installation from the instructions alone, you probably wouldn't need them in any case!Value-wise, at the time I bought this, for some reason, the prices of power units generally seemed to have been hiked up across the board. This was, arguably, one of the less-hiked-up ones, but in my humble opinion, still more expensive than it need have been, for what it is. Delivery, however, was very prompt.
