Barely better than nothing. Don't buy this

I ran to best buy to grab this since I ran out of nt-h2 just to use until I could get a better paste sent to me. I used this on an EVGA rtx 3080 12gb ftw3 and it idles fine, plays Minecraft fine with reasonable temperatures, but if I play anything that pulls over 250w then the card immediately sets the fan speed to 100%, hits 91°c, and thermal throttles down to 280w and 1600mhz. This paste cannot keep up with anything over maybe a 6600xt. Very disappointed in this paste and yes I have repasted just to see and the contact was textbook after my first disassembly.

This stuff is cheap and unreliable. Before applying this, I've never had overheating issues. I only replaced it because I had to replace a damaged tower case and rebuild my PC. I used a corsair H100i Pro in combination with Arctic Silver 5 to cool my Ryzen 5 3600. I've never had issues with overheating until buying this stuff. This material does not transfer heat well. My AIO pump and the fans have to be set to extreme mode when gaming. Otherwise the CPU will overheat faster than the heat can be transferred. I've reapplied the paste multiple times just in case. but the results have been the same. My fans and pump need to work harder because of this product. Do yourself a favor and get something else more reputable like Arctic Silver.

After cleaning and blowing everything off I added new thermal paste and they are not only much quieter while running AAA games like Modern Warfare, but they seem to run a little smoother as well. Not bad for a $10 tube that has enough thermal paste for 5-6 applications. I even took my 5 year old Dell netbook apart and applied some fresh to it.Couple of tips to help out first timers. You don’t need the fancy thermal paste removal kits that cost as much or more than the thermal paste ... MoreA friend of mine and I both have 8 year old 2nd gen fat PS4s that sound like jet engines. Just get you AT LEAST 70% isopropyl alcohol at Walmart for $1 (some people may say to use 90% but that’s not a must, just don’t use anything less than 70% as it will contain too much water). And make sure it’s completely dry before apply the new thermal paste!Get you a paper towel and a q tip and let the alcohol soak for a minute or so before you go scrubbing it off.And the most controversial item is the application of the new thermal paste. Some people say do a grain of rice size dab on the cpu, others say do an “X”, whatever it doesn’t matter. Put on some in the center of the chip and then put the heat sink in place. You can pull it off again to make sure the cpu is completely covered by thermal paste and if not apply a bit more.If you put on too much it won’t hurt anything! It’ll just look like crap but you’ll never see it again once you reassemble your PlayStation/PC/Xbox.

Great product
24 October 2022

This thermal paste can be placed in the category of very good thermal compounds and definitely facilitates heat transfer under load, as you can see by looking at how quickly the CPU temperature goes back down to idle levels after a workload event. One note: this paste is quite thick and doesn't squeeze easily so be careful when applying it. If the amount you apply is more than the recommended pea-size, the amount of pressure on the CPU (due to the heat sink squeezing down the paste when screw are tightened) may result in your board telling you the CPU is not detected or other glitches due to excessive pressure on the socket. So use it with confidence because of its thermal properties but don't go for any quantity other than standard pea-size amount

It works as advertised
30 October 2022

It’s basic thermal paste. I don’t understand why they give you so much since everyone uses it to place a heatsink on their CPU, in which you only need a little drop. Maybe it gets replaced evey 5 years, by then you’ll probably want to buy some new thermal paste anyway. It keeps a AMD Ryzen 1700 at 32 degrees C at idle and rarely got to 55 degrees C at full load, so it works. It’s hard to tell how much to put on and the best method it apply it. I went with the pea-sized drop in the middle of the CPU, then put the heatsink/fan on.

Saved me from buying a new GPU
9 November 2021

My computer kept freezing up and rebooting while gaming. Frustrating to say the least! I searched online and I narrowed it down to RX-570 video card. Since nobody has GPUs in stock (at least ones that aren't incredibly overpriced) I MAY have freaked out a little. However, someone on Reddit suggested checking the thermal paste on the GPU. I grabbed this stuff based on great reviews, and the fact that it was 7.99, because why not? I opened up the video card and cleaned off the old paste. It was pretty trashy. A shot of the new paste and some careful reassembly and I was ready to try it out.Happy to say it did the trick! I let my kid loose on Roblox and Minecraft for two hours and then I spent an hour in Dying Light. The fans on the GPU never hit higher than 50%. So far so good compared to Arctic Silver
3 July 2021

So far so good! I haven’t built a computer in years and when I went to use my thermal paste (Arctic silver, which I have always used), I realized it was probably degraded and I should use something new. Well of course this was on a weekend, so it would take longer than I wanted to wait for Amazon. I found this at Best Buy and so far so good. I wanted to try the Nvidia one honestly, but they were out. I compared the thermal conductivity temperature of the two items they had in stock local, and this one was 3degrees higher. So alas at the same price I bought this one. I will try this on my sons computer as it has been years since it’s been replaced, and I got him a new case for his computer.Pros - it’s a thermal paste as long as it does it’s job and runs the cpu ... MoreSo far so good! Could be a little tough and confusing for newbies/first time users.

Well it go's like this. I recently upgraded the memory on my MSI Trident X plus with the Intel I9 processor. The compact system required the cpu heat sink to be removed prior to memory instillation. After braking the factory paste and removing the heat sink, I installed the upgraded memory modules. I re-seated the heat sink with some Radio Shack thermal compound i had on hand. immediately after starting the computer i noted a spike in the cpu operating temperature on all cores. Very hard to work with. Not spreadable.
12 February 2023

Too thick to spread. I read that this thermal paste is average to below at heat conduction. I have no way to test this, and I really don't care about getting the best thermals. I just wanted a paste. This stuff, even when brand new, has the consistency of clay when it should be more like peanutbutter. Every thermal paste I've ever used is soft and spreadable with the finger when wearing a glove, but not this one. This one sticks to itself and sticks to the glove and simply WILL NOT stay on the chip where I put it. I'm not using this for anything mission critical and I will never buy this product again.
