I am not surprised that this an amazing roller bag. The llama is on it and like everything I have purchased from Cotopaxi, it’s a winner. The 10” dimension made me wonder if it would past muster at the gate. If was not a problem. Three people near the gate said they did not know that you made these. They were on their phones checking them out.I examined this bag and the frame and rollers closely, and it is well made to say the least. The materials look durable and are cool according to everyone who has seen it.I am seriously thinking of ordering the larger one to take to Costa Rica this winter.Another great product to enjoy for years to come.

I have always used duffels for travel, but now that I’m working remotely and traveling to location every month, I wanted a roller suitcase. It does fit a fair amount of stuff for an extended trip, but is small enough for a carry on. I liked the color options. Biggest downside is it is quite easy to pack it full to it can be quite wide and then not fit in an overhead compartment. And after only one trip, it already shows wear on the top vinyl. Hopefully with a few more trips, I’ll figure out the limit to pack itOne small other downside, the picture shows that the straps go all the way across the bag and have handles on the top. The model I received does not have the handles on the front, only one on the top and one on the side, so a bit less than ideal for carrying.

It's takes a while to figure out how to pack this bag. Even tho it's a soft cover, it's not a flexible as I would like. Although you can fit a lot of stuff, when you go to close the top right side won't zip if it's too wide on the bottom. This really limits what you can put in. You can't have boxy or hard things on the sides. The 28L back pack has the same issue. It would benefit from a compression divider rather than just the mesh zippers. Also, I was concerned with ripping the mesh dividers which also added limitations to how I can pack.My Away backpack can fit loads more and offers more flexibility.

Haven’t used it yet but Cotopaxi keeps bugging me about a review so what the heck, take this for what it’s worth. My wife and I have been traveling the world on month plus long trips at a time for a couple decades now. We have it down to each of us only needing a 30liter backpack. Pack light, wash clothes often. But we’re switching it up, decided to rent an apartment in a foreign country and stay much longer. It’s a trial ballon to see if we like going somewhere for a season at a time. Hence the need for something bigger to take enough clothes so we’re wearing the same couple outfits for the duration of the stay. So the 65liter rolling bag from Cotopaxi seems exactly what is needed. The wheels look ok, I hope they last rolling over cobblestones. There are a couple of things that don't quite work out for me with this bag.First, the side handle is just a plain nylon strap with no padding. If your bag is reasonably full, it gets uncomfortable to carry within a few hundred feet. The top handle is padded as you would expect, but since it's unlikely that anyone will carry it by the top handle for more than a few feet, that seems like the wrong design decision: the plush one should have been on the side.Second, I really struggled to pack the lid in such a way that once the straps were tightened down it wasn't lumpy and weird looking. I've never had this problem with a carry-on bag before. Once I cinch the straps down, it looks like mushrooms are trying to grow up through the top of the bag.Third, no internal ... MoreThere are a couple of things that don't quite work out for me with this bag.First, the side handle is just a plain nylon strap with no padding. The mesh compartments help, but don't completely replace compression straps.Fourth, the empty bag seems at least a couple of pounds heavier than my wife's bag: we switched luggage during a trip for reasons, and when I had all the same stuff in this bag, it was noticeably heavier.Construction seems robust, the wheels and handle work well, and the bag is bright and easy to find, but when Wakamatsu releases their next batch of tarpaulin bags in colors other than black and white, I'm likely to get one of those and sell this one.
One trip to France, I with this bag and my husband with a travel pro 4 wheel for 1/2 the price and he had a better go. I thought this bag would be light and rugged over mixed surfaces. The wheels are OK, but compared to the basic 4 wheel, I was slower and not as agile getting on and off the train and through the airport, and négligeable difference over the cobblestones or rough surfaces. The canvas handles make the bag easier to throw in and out of cabs and by luggage handlers, but I guess they also get caught in the conveyer. One trip and they already look like they will rip off or rip the material. The color started great, pretty blue, but one trip and it’s a gross grimey gray as the material picks up all the black From The conveyer. Size wise I could pack an equal amount or more in the same volume duffel and it would be lighter as this bag has some weight to it.The GOOD, the top outer zipper pocket is awesome for organization and on the go easy grab items. The organization inside is good. It looks cool at the start and it’s easy to spot when waiting for luggage.
Took this, along with a backpack, as my only luggage for a trip to Turkey for a week that was bookended with a night in London on either side. It's carryon size but I ended up checking it both ways. This is surprisingly durable. There's not a ton of cushion/insulation, which I suppose makes it easier to pack more stuff, and it still held up well even with glass souvenirs in it on the way back. It's obviously distinct and easy to spot on the baggage claim, rolls well on various surfaces (including some cobblestone). No real internal organization, but given its size I don't feel like that was a loss. Love this bad boy.
While traveling for work, my cheap suitcase failed me (shocker, I know). Due to frequent travel, I decided that it was time to actually invest in quality luggage. I happened to walk by a Cotopaxi store in Portland, OR and I am so happy I did. I’ve taken the weekender bag on several local trips and love the versatility of it and the organizational design of it. I also purchased the Allpa 38L Roller and I’ve traveled all over with it. I haven’t run out of packing space yet! I love the quality of the products, what the company stands for, and the repair options. My appreciation of the quality of my luggage set, coupled with my overall admiration of the company standards, lead to the purchase of several other products they offer. I considered this vs a similar sized hard cover luggage, and chose this one since it seemed as if it’d be overall lighter and easier to carry around. I took it with me on a 3 week trip and was unfortunately very let down by the design. The 2 wheel design vs 4 wheels you’d normally see on similar sized luggage makes this very difficult to turn or maneuver. I had to pick it up each time and awkwardly reposition it, a very big pain when it was full and even more so on a crowded subway. The front pocket also causes awkward tugging with the main zipper. Even when the front pocket is fully empty, the luggage being full causes an awkward pull that makes it feel as if the main zipper is going to burst at any moment.Overall, I’d say this isn’t up to the quality I expect ... MoreI considered this vs a similar sized hard cover luggage, and chose this one since it seemed as if it’d be overall lighter and easier to carry around. The material for the soft shell scuffs incredibly easy, and just from one trip it looks as bad or even worse than my three+ year luggage.
I researched this bag for a long time and was so excited when I purchased it. It looked great upon arrival. After packing it I realized there’s a defect in the way it zips. If the bag is even half filled it is extremely hard to zip up on top. Due to the zip open pouch in front there is material that pulls away from the main zipper and I thought it was going to burst when I finally closed it. It still looked great so I used it for my trip. I took the suitcase on one domestic round trip. When I picked it up at my destination I was shocked how terrible it looked after one use. Picked it up the 2nd time after my return flight home and it looks embarrassingly bad. The bag looks like it’s been used for 20 years and hit by a truck. I wish I did more research. I spent $350 ... MoreI researched this bag for a long time and was so excited when I purchased it. It looked great upon arrival. After packing it I realized there’s a defect in the way it zips. After 3 weeks with this bag I already never want to use it again. The only positive I can say is it looked great when it arrived. I would not say it is luggage quality and I very much regret my purchase.
