It's black, not white, which is fine. The air quality setting has gone to purple a few times but returns to blue once the sensor is cleared, I ensure the initial filter is clean (even a little dust seems to set it off) or I turn it on and off. We have only had the purifier a few weeks. I read the reviews on Wirecutter in the New York Times and it came highly rated. Wheels would be nice for moving it around, but it's fairly portable. I'm still playing with where to place it.

Was fast delivery. Quick to setup. You have to install the 2 filters involved. Absolutely very quiet running machine. On the second of three speeds you can't hear it run! Then, after about 2 hours,the air smells better and IS better. I've had many other purifiers but this one beats them all. Love this purifier! Very pleased.

All in all all a good product. Would recommend. My only complaint(which is not too serious) is that the highest speed(#3) is quite loud. From the Medium speed to the high speed is a pretty is a big jump. It would be nice if it had 4 speeds. Also keep in mind its size. If you have a really small room you might want to take that into consideration.

The sound level on low can barely be heard and the sound on medium is OK. The sound on high is fairly loud. The power consumption is extremely low - measured via my Kil A Watt type meter - 3.5 watts on low, 8.6 watts on medium (with ionizer on), and 58 watts on high w/o ionizer. I liked the machine so much that I purchased another two of them for other rooms in the house. I leave them running on low or medium 24/7 since they use so little electricity. Also, the filter replacements (aftermarket with good reviews) are affordable (~$25/yr). Are there slightly better air purifiers - Yes, but they cost 4X as much as this unit. I purchased this unit to put in our bedroom. So far my wife doesn't sneeze in that room. I guess it's taking something out of the air that's irritating to my wife. So far it's doing the job. I haven't had it very long so 'time' is the best performance indicator.
This is an impressive air purifier with several filters, the first is easy to clean by either washing or vacuuming it off. It is very quiet and there is an indicator light that tells you if the air is clean or not. I've had this for over a month and I love it.
It's larger than I expected but that's my fault for not paying attention to the measurements. I keep it on a small typing table in my office, about 9 inches from the wall, and I set it to run with the ionizer on for 8 hours when I get to work in the morning so it shuts off automatically at the end of the day. It's so quiet, I'm barely aware it's there until some invisible floating particles cause the indicator to go from blue to purple (or red) and the fan speeds up for a minute or so until the air is clean again. Fast and efficient!
The product worked great. The issue was that the store did not inspect the item prior to shipment. Had a dirty filter. I reached out to them and they were fast to remedy the situation. I purcased a second Coway to put in another room. I would recommend this product
Works well, is very quiet (at the lowest setting, not so much at higher settings), is easy to use. We don't have any way to evaluate how well it cleans the air, but it seems to do a good job. The only annoyance (which we have also had with another brand of air purifier) is that it plays an irritating little electronic melody when you plug it in, and again when you turn it on. Fortunately it doesn't play the melody any other time, and is in general quite well behaved.
Got this for my Freshman who's dorm is on a busy city street. Lots of smog. Roommate has tons of allergies. We did a test run over the holidays. Set it to "sensitive" mode (there are three modes). Running it on auto sound is not noticeable. Blue light indicates air is good. We shook off a duster in front of it and the sensor light immediately turned purple and fan kicked on. A minute later it went back to blue. This is a super way to auto clean one room's air. I don't believe there is a way to turn off the sensor light. The blue glow is noticeable in a dark room. Other than that set it and forget it. Until it's time to change the filter after 6 months+ (12 mos recommended, but a warning light alerts when its time). Cheapest filters I found were on amazon.
