Cheap! And easily improved.

Cheap! And the potential nasty can be removed.I have 4 of these now and all have been modified:1) Remove the hardware and deepen the 20mm bolt head holes by about 3mm2) Re-attach hardware, adding M8 spring washers under the locking wing nutsFirst step is to create the extra length for the spring washers. Without addition of spring washers the wing nuts tend to work loose and fall off, so that legs are not locked in open position. As long as the wing nuts are secure, these are very solid and reliable.

Disappointing!

I bought this only because the product I wanted was out of stock and I really needed a sawhorse. It is basically functional, but the legs remain vertical when folded out, with the result that the sawhorse is unstable and will tip over if any weight is applied near either end. The wooden beam is also too narrow. I certainly won't buy a second one.

Don’t waste your money on them, badly designed and unstable.

These saw horses are really badly made, not so much the construction but the thought behind the design. The main problem is the legs sit at 90° to the timber top, which means they are unstable and wobble all over the place. If the legs had been splayed 15° to 20° they would be much better and improve stability 1000°Save your money and buy something better that you won’t throw out.

Totally useless. Bunnings should not sell this stuff. The angle of the legs ensures that the things are unstable. Don’t waste your money. Spend a bit more for something that works. Also the opinion of my builder father in law.

Folds flat during any use
31 May 2022

Do not buy, dangerous, legs dont open wide enough or lock in place and folds shut during use. Will be screwing mine permanently setup to save throwing away. Wouldnt be hard/costly to make this product actually functional so not sure what bunnings trying to achieve with producing/ selling this product

Serves the purpose

I have bought and used a number of these over many years. You get what you pay for. They do the job as long as you treat them reasonably. They have a couple of annoying habits. One is that when working on flat surfaces it is very difficult to stop them rocking as the legs move out over time. The other is a real pain. The manufacturers have reduced the quality of the 'wing nuts' over time until now these are little more than a piece of tin and quite useless. They regularly fall off. The other reviewer who thought his missing ones were for him to replace if needed was in error. His were simply missing on purchase. I simply replace my useless wing nuts with proper nuts when they strip out or fall off. If you haven't noticed how manufacturers continue with their current policy of reducing quality and quantity over time to save on price, these unfortunately have suffered from this and are getting weaker over time. But as I said, you get what you pay for and I keep buying them. They do the job.

Surprised Bunnings are selling these
4 August 2022

I bought a few of these and they were very disappointing. The legs don't open up wide enough and so they continuously collapse whilst using them. They are completely unfit for purpose and I do not recommend them at all unless you have the ability to modify the metal legs.

The incredible junk
22 December 2021

Do. Not. Buy. Disgusting saw horse even for a single use DIY project.Extremely poor quality. Dangerous. Bendy. Warpy. Rusty. Flimsy. Junky.May comfortably hold a sheet of polystyrene. Don’t push it with two sheets though.

These hare handy but you get what you pay for

These are cheap and handy.Pros: cheap so you can buy a bunch. I usually have a scrap piece of plywood lying around to pop on top of two to make a little work bench. Can be used for painting, storing things of the ground, cutting wood with hand held tools like a jigsaw. Make sure to use wingnut supplied to hold legs in place for better stability.Cons: As stated in previous reviews, cannot hold much weight. Wouldn’t recommend for a permanent set up or anything overly complicated. Awkward height which hurts your back.Ultimately, these are great cheap horses to have around but not very good quality. You get what you pay for!

If you buy these saw horses expecting top quality, you're a fool. They are good for the price, which is cheap. They are lightweight, suitable only for light jobs - like painting a door or sawing a long piece of lumber. If you use clamps to secure whatever you're working on, instead of using your body-weight, the saw horses work just fine. The legs don't quite spread adequately but, if you're working on something heavy enough to tilt them over, you probably need a set of much more expensive heavy duty saw-horses.The major shortcoming is the lack of washers under the wingnuts. The holes in the leg brackets are larger then the wingnuts so, without proper washers the legs will shift quite easily. Adding a couple of properly sized washers fixes the problem. All in ... MoreIf you buy these saw horses expecting top quality, you're a fool. They are good for the price, which is cheap.
