Crayola 1.13 kg Air Dry Clay White
Great for classrooms, art rooms, and group activities. Quick and simple alternative to complex traditional ceramic firing process. Smoother, finer and less sticky than traditional clay. Crayola Air-Dry Clay contains colorants that may stain. Do not place directly on household surfaces to dry(like countertops or tables). Can be painted with tempera, acrylic, or watercolors when dry. Crayola Air Dry Modeling Clay softens easily with water and quickly cleans from hands as well as surfaces. Nontoxic white clay is smooth as well as fine and requires no baking in an oven or firing in a kiln. This easy-to-use clay becomes solid and durable when dried and can be painted with tempera, acrylic, or watercolor paints. It can also be used with traditional techniques like slab, pinch, coil, score and weld. Will dry to the touch in 24 hours, and dry completely in 72 hours. If you're not ready to use it all in one sitting, store it in the included container for 3-12 months.

The Crayola Air-Dry Clay explored an imagination I never knew I had! The possibilities are endless when trying to get creative with clay! To charms, to jewelry, and even small figures It is the perfect craft to be unique! One of my favorite crafts I made was a frog wearing a cowboy hat meant for holding my earrings! Crayola’s Clay is super easy to mold into anything you desire and dries within a matter of days! TIP: You can paint your clay to add a pop of color to your design!

My fiance uses this clay all the time to make projects and even some commissioned pieces. Depending on the size and thickness of what you make, it can sometimes take a little longer than 24 hours to dry. Smaller pieces can dry overnight but I would still give it a day if you want to be extra safe. Before it dries fully and is still in a semi-soft state is a great time to get good detail in last minute! The finished products can tend to be pretty heavy depending on how thick or large your piece might be but I feel like that is expected with most clays. You can make (almost) anything that can be made with other non-quick-dry clay and it will allow for placing things inside and will keep them cemented pretty securely, especially if glazed or sealed over (which I ... MoreMy fiance uses this clay all the time to make projects and even some commissioned pieces. If you let it dry completely before painting it doesn't soak up too much paint/liquids either. Highly recommend for seasoned sculptors and brand new crafters alike! Attached are two pictures of the same mask (different lighting) that my fiance made a few years ago, painted with Acrylic paint and sealed with Crystal Clear🤡

My expectations were set low for air dry clay. I tried to make my own clay but had cave and buy this product (two buckets for 70 kids). The clay stayed moist in the bucket for a week. The product did crack after 20 minutes of handling and mostly stuck to itself. Students did a basic coil pot. Some pot coils shrank and separated from each other. The drying process was quick but inconsistent throughout the groups. The product doesn’t have the strong chemical smell that other air dry clay has. Overall it did the job.

I TRIED THIS IS THE PAST but did not like them. Must be a new formula, very nice. Good way to begin the feel of working with clay. I have given them as gifts to a person healing from a hip replacement and an 80th birthday gift. The loved them One person spending time with grand kids while laid up. the second making pieces for her nativity set. I have been making little pots for dementia folks to paint. This is a really nice product, good feel, air dried, very paintable.
MY daughter is enjoying using this clay to make little ornaments and figurines to paint. I am not sure how long it actually takes to dry because we set them up on a shelf and left them for 2 weeks before even looking at them again. Even the thinner ornaments seem to be very strong. I definitely recommend having a set of clay or cake fondant moulding tools if you are going to make smaller items because smoothing the clay can be tricky but the consistency of this clay it pretty great. Not too soft to hold shape and not soo stiff that it's difficult to manipulate and mold with weaker fingers.
I bought this product to make adobe brick structures with my grandchildren and friends for our Native American study. The color was perfect, it was easy to work with and the kids enjoyed the project. I used a ruler and plastic knife to cut the individual bricks. I also bought a tub of white to use for pottery and beads.Terra Cotta - It did shrink once it dried so the kids’ buildings literally fell apart. Sad.White - It worked very well for pots. We painted ours with acrylic paint once they were dry.
It was okay! it was really fun and easy to use but it couldn't make a lot of items and tends to crack a little too often. Every item I've made so far as not lasted. The few that did last, crumbled when I held them. I'm going to give it the benefit of doubt because I was making fairly tiny objects from an item for children. But I defiantly recommend having some sort of clay bondage glue when working with this- so the items don't miraculously fall off. And I also would overall recommend this for children. If you want to make something or even experiment in clay, despite how good and cheap of an option this is, you're better off using another item.
I love using this product! I am a kindergarten teacher and this clay is perfect for crafts and projects because you don’t need to heat it in a machine like normal clay in order to use it. This is easy to use, it dries in 1-2 days (faster if you leave it in the sun to dry) great for kids, and it’s easy to clean up. I used it for fossils during my Dino unit! My class rolls the clay into a ball, smashes it like a pancakes, chooses a Dino skeleton and turns it on its side, they gently push the skeleton into the class, gently pull it off and then we let the clay dry. After a day or two, my class gets to become paleontologist and analyze their fossil. This clay is such a convenient tool!
I prefer terra cotta over the basic white clay. I have no experimented with primary colors and wasn’t aware of their existence until Michaels made them known to me. Slightly damp to touch, smells earthly, and as I form my shapes and molds, I’ll add plastic wrap so that no bubbles form causing cracks. I have not tried without. You get a large amount for a hood price by the way!
i love this clay!! it feels so nice and is super easy to mold. i love making coasters with it! i highly recommend covering any clay you’re not using in a damp paper towel and having a cup of water nearby. once i form whatever i’m making, i dip my finger in water and use it to smooth out any textures or finger prints! it’s messy, but so worth it. i let my pieces dry for about 2 weeks before handling (i went out of town after making them) and i haven’t had any breakage! i painted them, waited another week or so, and then covered them in uv resin and cured! i’m obsessed with how they turned out! i made incense and palo santo holders, coasters, and a jewelry holder.
