I have been buying Model Magic for years now for my grandson. He likes to make characters from his movies and at one time ( when he was 4 yrs old ) he loved making the Starbucks mermaid. This clay is not messy and doesn't stick to clothing. It's awesome. Our closest store is always running out of it because we buy it every other day. Highly recommend.

I thought that this product was clay, but it isn't. I may have read the description too quickly (as I had read about 20 other clay product descriptions that day), but I didn't realize that it was a foam type product. My children are studying ancient history, and wanted to create tablets with cuneiform writing on them. With this foam type clay it didn't work very well, as the wedged writing was impossible to carve into the tablet (wet or dry) because it's so foamy and soft. So, the kids just made markings that looked like cuneiform the best way they could. It turned out okay, and I guess the only good thing is, now that they are dry, they won't break easily. If you are one of those teachers who does not have access to a kiln Model Magic is a great alternative. My students have made coil pots, plaques, African Masks as well as beads and embellishments. If the project takes two sessions the project can be place in a plastic ziplock bag and it will remain pliable for the next day. The finished project can be left out to dry out in two or three days depending on its thickness. Watercolor paint adds great color to Model Magic. Buy it it in the big 8 ounce bags and you'll start thinking big ideas as well.

I always buy these for my 7 yo son. He uses all the time and makes Roblox characters. I love this stuff because if keeps him busy for hours. He knows the drill to allow air drying time. I use it occasionally for my projects. The quality is great. We sometimes paint over, add podge modge and stays on. We can even use hot glue and it sticks and does not melt.
i use this clay to make art face masks, and to use in face molds...the clay doesn't crack at all while drying, and can be painted or waxed within 24 hours. If sealed it can last for months. The colors available are great, and the quality of the product superb!
The brown Model Magic air dry clay was a delight to work with! It was easy to handle, didn't create a mess, and dried overnight, which was incredibly convenient. I used it for my Halloween costume, and the best part was how lightweight the final result turned out to be. Overall, a fantastic choice for crafting projects!
I bought this before Christmas to replace the base of a Santa figurine that had accidentally broken. I simply took it out of the package, and shaped it very simply to look like the Santa was standing in snow. Seemed simple enough, right? I followed the directions on the package (which seemed pretty basic), but the clay never fully dried. I gave it over 72 hours (just taking into account the longest possible drying time) and it still hadn't dried fully. Well, Santa was put away yesterday, and the base still wasn't fully hardened like it was supposed to be. I'm sure this product might be great for very small crafts. But I wouldn't suggest using it for a modeling clay as the package implies.
My grandson loves this clay. I needed to somehow repair a couple garden figures and wondered if this would work. It did!!! I was able to paint over it as well and my garden figures look great. No wonder my grandson loves this.
The kids created donuts out of this clay. It is rather sticky out of the package so I couldn't divide the colors in advance into kits per student as one piece would stick to the next. For the same reason, mistakes cannot be undone easily. However it is exceptionally soft and easy for youngsters to use. It blends beautifully, and sparks loads of creativity. The outer layer dried hard enough but inside stayed soft, which had some kids squishing it the next day (thinking it was dry already), often breaking the sculpture... Everyone though had a blast creating....
I use this for some scale sculpting and only the thinnest pieces ever dry. Also at that thickness it tends to crack around any seam! the stuff breaks apart if you have a join that isn't basically wet when it contacts... it starts to form a skin immediately... but isn't dry after months.... go figure...Sago Bros is amazing compared to this, night and day. Only down side if you get the sago brother packs, they will dry out from the individual packs if left like that for well over a year.
