What I notice about the reviews on Aventus is a lot of people smell different things and perceive it in different ways. This could be because Aventus is hand made in batches. Some batch numbers are even more sought after than others. Due to its cost, I order it in small amounts from people that have large decanters of the stuff. It's not my daily go-to, so I can make a little bit last a good while. With that said, Aventus smells to me like a man's man cologne. It doesn't pair well with a chai latte and a man bun. Use it in moderation and use it responsibly. Try a sample of it before you go all out. This stuff ain't cheap.

All in all, I would say that Aventus is a fantastic fragrance that is definitely worth trying out. Just be prepared for high price tag. I would never recommend a blind buy but it’s hard for me to imagine anyone disliking it. (But try it first. Seriously, don’t blind buy anything.)

The original formulation was ground breaking absolutely and the scent is very likable considering how copied fragrance is. The magic is the birch, the darker and the darker smokier notes to this and of course the sweetness comes from pineapple, there is this fullness to it as well where it's just perfectly blended. If you're into fragrances like Drakkar Noir, Black XS and Armani Code this will most likely be your next favorite fragrance as they are all a similar style. However none smell exactly the same. Sure Polo Green (Ralph Lauren) among others have been reformulated significantly but for the price Creed goes for you'd think that they would be the source for the pineapples, the birch trees and all but no! Really what are we paying for if they can't produce a consistent product the history, the hype? I'd say go with one of the many, many copies instead because this isn't the longest lasting fragrance. Al Haramain L'Adventure, Club De Nuit Intense by Armaf and all the others are my pick. If you've got the money though go with Creed, it's a great fragrance so I'm not talking bad about it but I can't stomach 400$ for something that doesn't last 12+ hours and project like a beast.

Dupes get close, but they're never truly identical. When buying this fragrance, it is important to not judge on first sniff as the top notes on my 20a01n have gotten significantly better. And starting our journey back up at 6 am that Saturday morning. Sometime around 3pm or so. We stopped in Kansas or Missouri for some coffee at this convenience store. And the guy working the cash register asked me: Are you wearing cologne? I replied yes, and he asked what I was wearing, cause I smelled so good. I gladly told him and showed him the bottle. Have to say. This wasn't the first compliment on this trip. That Creed Aventus turned some heads and people had to approach and tell me how good I smelled. This fragrance will change your entire outlook on many things. I’ll explain a little more of what I mean. This fragrance, smelling it on yourself, can remold and reshape your self-confidence as well as change how others look at and think about you. This is a “power scent”. Don't miss this! I'm a kind of a newbie to the niche/designer fragrances as I have used some natural perfumes previously. The first thing I look for in a fragrance is whether it brings discomfort to me. Some scents might give headaches even if it's a highly rated or top brand, so it's subjective. Creed Aventus is recommended by one of my friends, and I bought some decants to try it first. This smells pretty awesome, very unique, and pleasant, light on my nose. I bought a decant initially and then a bottle. You never get disappointed. Can blind buy. Again, this brand doesn't cause any discomfort and suits me. Lastly, I hear more discussion about different batches of Aventus, don't worry about it. Just try anything you get! Very classy scent!

Clearing the air..

A lot of people seem to be confused about the “inconsistency” of this fragrance so let me clear the air on the matter. In the same way that most prestigious bakeries have a starter dough that they’ve had for many, many years and use in their creations, the same is true for Creed Aventus. Each year a new batch is made, using the previous batch as the starter so naturally you will not be getting the same fragrance profile as a previous year. It’s one of the reasons the price is so high, because you’re paying for a century old batch. I preferred the stronger pineapple notes from 5+ years ago; I purchased a bottle in2022 that smells completely different from the other bottle. Still recommend the product!

all good things come to an end

It is with great sadness, I write this review. I have worn Adventus for many years. I remember my first bottle was 190$ for a small bottle. I have faithfully and loyally purchased this over and over the past years. My last bottle was a larger one, it went bad and I did not use it all. I just purchased a small bottle and this is definitely not what Creed Adventus used to be. It smells horrible and nothing like it use to. it does not have staying power and it use to stay on my clothes until I washed them. 335$ for something that is now horrible and a hassle to return. I think this may be the last time I give them a try after what I had hoped would be a lifetime relationship.
