Creme De La Mer Moisturizing Cream - 0.24 oz jar

There was years that I wanted to try La Mer but avoided it because of the cost. Curiosity finally caught up to me and I purchased a holiday set. You must warm this up with your fingertips until it becomes translucent and then apply. I personally love the scent, smells like a relaxing spa. The first Ingredient in this is seaweed extract, it acts as an antioxidant, it moisturizes and soften your skin. I had some unusual dryness recently that nothing seemed to resolve. Then I tried this and it worked, I had relief from the dry skin and tightness. I would purchase this solely for the times I’m experiencing some stubborn dryness. I lean more towards medical grade skincare for anti aging because of my age, but I have to admit, there is something special about this formula.

A comprehensive review of La Mer

First thing, it’s going to make your skin glow from the first use. It also adds notable clarity. It somewhat helps with acne and marks. You have to make sure you’re rubbing it between your hands and then patting it on to the face. You only need the smallest amount, just to cover your face- I use less than they advertise and less than I would use for my other creams. Any more is really too much, and you run the risk of greasiness, whiteheads, clogged pores and breakouts. I’ve been having major inflammation in my skin and after months of using it, it barely improved on these factors. I would really recommend using Drunk Elephant Wonderwild Miracle Butter- that stuff heals. This gives a luminous glow, a pricey one. It’s hard to rate this product without factoring in ... MoreFirst thing, it’s going to make your skin glow from the first use. It also adds notable clarity. It somewhat helps with acne and marks. I’ve been having major inflammation in my skin and after months of using it, it barely improved on these factors. I would really recommend using Drunk Elephant Wonderwild Miracle Butter- that stuff heals. This gives a luminous glow, a pricey one. It’s hard to rate this product without factoring in the exorbitant price. You really can find better or equivalent moisturizers for cheaper. So much of your skin is also due to lifestyle. I had to take off one star for the price which is hard to purely justify, and it also tends to enlarge your whiteheads. I took off another star because the ingredient list is also concerning- mineral oil, petrolatum and that it may give you breakouts. It does indeed smell like your grandmother’s cream. That being said, if nothing else works for you and this does, then it’s a small price to pay. Moreover if you really want a glow and can’t seem to get one, then this may be your product. I would really advise getting a sample or a trial size to try it out to make sure that your skin likes it before committing.

I hate that I love it.

Ok. Let me just start by saying I have fair sensitive skin and struggle with horrible dry patches on the sides of my face. I’ve tried all sorts of things to control them, but really the only solution I’ve found is proper sleep, a good diet, a good gentle exfoliation, and staying on top of moisturizing.I originally tried La Mer when I got a sample off the rewards bazaar. It is crazy moisturizing, doesn’t sting my dry patches ever, and basically helps them to heal up. I went years only getting the samples or buying the small jar and using it when my skin was at its worst. Finally I’ve given up and use this as my everyday moisturizer. I can buy a few less foundations or eye shadow palettes but good skin is a must.I wish La Mer didn’t have fragrance and I really ... MoreOk. I deducted a star for the price, because it’s totally insane. I just haven’t found a cheaper alternative (yet) that works as well for my particular skin issues. So there you are. It’s a great product. I love what it does for my skin. But I hate the price.

Miracle Product

I had a facial at Pebble Beach Resort Spa that chemically burned my entire face. I was in tears leaving the facility, sure that it had damaged two layers of skin and would scar. The next morning, my face was so tight and hard I couldn't move it. I felt deeply insecure about enjoying the rest of my stay. To my utter luck, a friend of mine had to travel sized creams she graciously gave to me, explaining their backstory. Hopeful, that night I patted it on and woke up the next morning to skin that was completely transformed. Not only had the redness disappeared but so had the peeling, leaving my skin more radiant, hydrated and rejuvenated than it ever had before. I could not possibly recommend this product more. I have never written a review but felt for this it was ... MoreI had a facial at Pebble Beach Resort Spa that chemically burned my entire face. OMG! They ACTUALLY Ruined my FAVORITE LA MER SKINCARE CREME!

To whomever this may help,I've always LOVED the Creme de La Mer Cream MOST! It got me INTO the whole Creme de La Mer brand in 2001 permanently; I'd even tried it earlier, but I was an exclusively loyal La Mer user since that Summer in 2001 (from SAKS 5th Avenue in NYC). Well, I just couldn't understand HOW nor WHY my absolute STAPLE product, MY GO TO for everything--the ORIGINAL Creme de La Mer Creme was suddenly failing me after 20 years?! before many other formulas (aside from the oil-absorbing and lotion pumps). Well, I got advice from my dermatologist to do something you're all probably thinking, 'Duh! Obvious thought!' But I'd never have imagined the Estee Lauder Company/LA MER brand would ever jeopardize a formula as tried and true as the original Creme de La ... MoreTo whomever this may help,I've always LOVED the Creme de La Mer Cream MOST! But I'd never have imagined the Estee Lauder Company/LA MER brand would ever jeopardize a formula as tried and true as the original Creme de La Mer creme they (re)Created. WELL, THEY DID! Carefully disguised at the bottom of the box Ingredient label is "ZEA MAYS(Corn) oil"(!) They never has been CORN OIL in this formula but now they've gone Cheap on us, and are using basic Corn Oil. Well take a wide guess who's allergic to corn oil? Yep, Silly old me! Trust me, adding 'ZEA MAYS' making it seem fancier than any mass-produced, bottom bin, basic corn oil (shipped in on massive freight train cars) is a flat out lie. Yes, I'm upset because I'm badly allergic to Corn Oil, BUT I would be TOO- If I were you! I'm a decades long customer to this company, having easily paid over $65,000+ , for the 'luxury' of using their products, and if they're seriously NOT going to give any NOTICE or Heads Up(!) about their most important, I would assume BEST SELLER cream.. Then I have to hope, faith nor respect for this company I thought I loved, whom I assumed loved their customers equally. I type this so sad, but angry, I certainly GUESS NOT!

TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE (Not Authentic..Do NOT Buy)

When I saw that Walmart had a La Mer product at a major reduced price...I should have known it was Too Good To Be True. Because I was diagnosed with Melanoma Skin Cancer, I have to be very careful with what I put on my skin. Because of this, I have purchased most of the La Mer skin products %26 so I am Very Aware of what is REAL %26 AUTHENTIC and what is Not...The Vendor really knows how to Mess with the customer's mind because the Box the product is in, is actually Authentic...it isn't until you open up the box that you notice it's a FAKE...If you Look at the front of the jar, You can immediately tell it is NOT the REAL La Mer by looking at the writing on the Outside of the jar....the REAL LA MER Product should ALWAYS read DE LA with a space between..The writing ... MoreWhen I saw that Walmart had a La Mer product at a major reduced price...I should have known it was Too Good To Be True. The Hype is Real!

I have heard about the benefits of this moisturizer forever. I invariably couldn't fathom the idea of buying one of the most popular yet expensive products.Truth be told when Walmart began selling this luxury brand. Walmart has slashed the price. I said to myself, “ Go for it!” I bought a product I never thought I would ever experience.La’Mere moisturizing cream lives up to all of my expectations. Yes, it is worth every penny. Creamy, yet light as a feather on my skin. A texture that feels like silk. It's an experience to sense it's an extraordinary product that leaves my skin radiant, and hydrated and fills in any wrinkle I have.I will not go back and put any other moisturizer on my face. This is a fake la mer product! Buyer beware!

This is unfortunately a fake jar of la mer moisturizing cream. Foolishly I purchased this in September and did not open it until this evening, as I was working my way through a jar of facial cream first. I did get this for an amazing sale price, and I can only assume that was because it is a fake. Firstly, upon opening the cellophane wrapper, the bottom of the box completely fell out, as the jar is just a smidge too big to fit in the base. The green writing on the jar came off in my hands. I looked at my hand to see green on it and though, "what is this?" to then notice that the writing on the jar had come off. Mind you, I didn't have anything on my hands- no lions, creams, etc. There also was not any paperwork in the box for the cream. The bottom of the box also indicated to refer to the enclosures, of which there were none. I could kick myself now, as I paid far more than I would have for a non genuine la mer product (as in, a different brand). And, as I ordered this in September and it is now the end of December, I am quite sure that Walmart will not refund my money. Should you find a La mer cream on sale at Walmart, and the price seems too good to be true, and you decide to order it, make sure you open it right away! This cream also does not smell like La Mer cream. I'm so upset that I bought this!

Works if you use it correctly

I don’t think those leaving reviews about how thick it is understand how it works and surely didn’t follow the instructions on how to use it. You’re supposed to take a small amount, using the spatula provided, and then warm it between your fingers until it’s translucent and then gently press into the skin. Yes it’s thick but if used properly, it’s not that thick on the skin. It’s extremely hydrating and only a small amount is needed to benefit from this product. I had a sample set of La Mer products and the week of use is what turned me on to them. I noticed the difference in my skin almost immediately. I’ve been using this for over a year and I get compliments on my skin frequently. I also get Botox, but I only get it 3x a year, my doctor recently commented on how great my skin looked and asked what I was using because he could tell a difference in my skin. While this is a very expensive product, it’s worth the investment, especially for those who already invest in their skin with Botox. And a little goes a long way. I can make a tiny jar last for months. Worth every penny in my opinion and I have used a lot of products over the years, inexpensive and expensive.

Yuck! Absolutely no for me

I received a generous sample in a GWP and have saved this as one of the last to try from that box. The consistency is awful: really thick like a barrier cream. It needs to be dragged across skins to ensure coverage and absorption. I even tried heating in my hands but it didn’t help. In addition, two days after using it, I started to suffer an unpleasant tightening and itching across my face, by day four this was a full on dermatitis reaction including swollen eyelids, flaking skin and severe itching. Having read a few reviews on here, it appears I am not the only one who gets a similar reaction to this cream. It’s now in the bin. There are far, far better creams at much lower prices available
