Blade is stiff, makes it easy to punch trough wallboard to start a cut, blade teeth are designed to cut with pull or push, making cuts quick and straight. Handle is large and comfortable to hold and cut with. Total hlade length with handle is abut 12 inches. I was able to cut out an electrical outlet box hole in less than 2 minutes. Saw is usable by either hand. Only lacking a protective blade sleeve.

when you look at in on-line you think its a flimsy hand saw. However once I got it holy cow I was wrong. its beefy compared to some of the other jab saws I have owned or used. Its nice and sharp with really good serrated edges to cut into materials. If you need to cut something quickly this hand tool will do the job. I had to issues with wood, hard plastic or sheets.

This jab saw is amazing. Super sharp and holds sharpness through the drywall cuts I needed to make. Not sure how it would hold up to wood, cement board or other materials as I usually only cut drywall. The tip has a sharper angle than other saws I’ve used and is very easy to jab into a wall. The cutting blade length is about an inch shorter than other saws but I didn’t find this to be an issue. Straight cuts are a breeze.

This is a must on your tools stock. Even you're a Pro or DIY, this jab saw surprised me. First time I get any tool from Crescent. The quality of the steel is great eventhough it's like drywall jab saw, I used it to trim small olive branches, 4x4 lumber wood and PVC moldings and drywall as well and the sharpness is still great.Handle is a little bit thin for me, but it has good grip and maneuverability. In drywall the sharp tip penetrante easily letting you cut straight all the way through. I didn't do circular or curved cuts but the wide of the saw allows you to do that.I'm giving it 4* because of the handle, It could be wider and more ergonomic designed.Definitely I do recommend this jab saw!
This jab saw is awesome! I love the grippy ergonomic handle and how it cut through the drywall like butter! I think my favorite design on the saw was the VERY sharp pointed nose. The ones that I’ve typically used in the past, and tried to poke into the drywall, have occasionally ripped the back paper. This did not at all! The blade was extremely sturdy on top of how sharp it was so it made the cut extremely easy. I only had about a 1‘ x 1‘ Hole to fix, but this thing can easily cut through a full 8 foot sheet in seconds. I highly recommend this one.
I like the color of this tool. It's easy to find in a tool box. It's sharp and can cut through sheet rock with a breeze. I would definitely recommend.
This little sheetrock saw is an excellent hand tool that really upholds the quality of Cresent. The handle is definitely easy to hold, and has a pleasant feeling diameter that allows to fit well even in a smaller hand. The blade is just the right amount of strength and sturdiness without being overly wide allowing a clean cut, with a very sharp tip and teeth that allows the saw to cut into good sturdy sheet rock and also not to make a mess of bad or deteriorated sheetrock. As a remodel electrician there are quite a few critical uses for a sheet rock saw and this saw is a winner. The only thing that could help would be a scabbard of some sort for the blade as it is very sharp and can pierce through a tool bag if one is not carefully where it is stored.
We are currently building a wrap around porch on our home. This saw has worked really well with cutting some of the closer fits during our construction
Tip broke off on second use. This jab saw is sharp and cuts easily through drywall and other soft material, however when putting pressure on it while attempting to punch though a board the tip snapped off.I still like the product and it came out of the box razor sharp. That being said i would not recommend it for anything other than light to medium jobs.
I have used other Crescent tools so I wanted to give this a try. I have seen jab saws used, but this is the first one for me.The blade is well cut and I like that the tip is sharpened. The handle feels comfortable and I felt my hand was safe as I used the tool. The connection between the blade and the handle never got loose.Drywall test went great. I have half-inch drywall and the tip went in easily. If you needed to cut an arch or circle, the saw could turn easily. There was the amount of dust and tear out that I expected, and it cut with minimal effort.I don’t cut drywall often, so I tested what else it could cut. 1/4 inch hardboard was difficult, but I could cut it if I had to. Styrofoam like you have in a TV box was a total mess, but it did cut through. ... MoreI have used other Crescent tools so I wanted to give this a try. Layered foam for tool boxes cut well and not much mess.I expect that rigid foam insulation should cut well since the tooth pattern leaves a nice cut.Overall, a well built cutter that I could see in anybody’s tool box. It would have been nice if it had a sheath, but I can overlook that minor detail easily.
