Broke the first day I used it. The purple loop is very fragile and the plastic connector pieces are tight. It’s very very difficult disconnecting two pieces/tubes and the brittle plastic breaks easily. Luckily PETCO was very helpful and I got a replacement piece, but the next day I broke the T-shaped tunnel. Getting these tunnels to disconnect should not be so difficult!!

My robo hamsters love the Kaytee tube attachments! They are compatible with other brands and stay together well. Only downer is, my robos are tiny, they cannot move the wheel so they just use it for observation right now. Also, the connectors for the tubes are hard to pull off and that makes cleaning a little cumbersome. However, the snugness of the connectors make the tubes more stable than other brands so that is something.

I think this is a great kit, with so much potential. I just would not use it with the "Super Pet MINI CritterTrail Two" cage, as that cage has some serious issues!I discovered last night that the wheel is very hard to open for cleaning, but I quickly found that using a pair of pliers to pinch the middle peg together while also pushing down on the peg and pulling up on the wheel part works quickly, and nearly effortlessly. (It will not cause damage, either). I just wish it was a lighter color so we could see how happy our pets are wandering around in it. Don't get me wrong - the dark purple is pretty, but I wish it made it easier for us to see our pet. But, eh - I guess it gives them some sense of privacy, right? Other than that, I love the assortment of colors.

I've had this system for over a year now and wanted to wait before reviewing the Super Pet Critter Trail Activity Accessory Kit.If you already have one or several of the CritterTrail cage units, this is going to fit perfectly.In my opinion, it's best suited for Gerbils or Mice... Hamsters (according to hamster owners) don't do as well. Many people are asking about noise? Well, when it's new, no problem, lubricate the wheel with olive oil and you're good to go. What happens is, that over time, the wheel tilts on its axis and begins to rub against the support flat/round section. There really is nothing you can to about that rubbing noise. This rubbing and the Top-Heavy nature of the tower design is why I give this unit four stars instead of five.I still think it's fun and does add dimension and interest for children as well as your pets. Assembles easily and all parts are very easy to take apart and clean.I certainly do recommend it. Life expectancy of the wheel... circa one year.
I have these attached to the mice's bin cage. A syrian absolutely would not fit in these, and the larger dwarfs would have to squeeze. Mice and robos hamsters are probably the only animals that would fit comfortably. Anyways, the mice love it. They use the wheel and sometimes sleep in it, but they mostly sleep in the green den. The only problem is, they get really dirty really quickly and the tubes are near impossible to take apart. Every time I do, I feel like they're going to snap in half. That's good for security, not good for cleaning. When they do come apart, soap and water does the trick and they are easy to clean. To set it up the way I have it, you'll need an extra T and 2 extra connecting rings.
This is one of the most inhumane products ever. If i could give it a negative number I would. By no means should a hamster EVER go in these attachments. As a first time hamster owner, I was completely unaware.Our hamster got stuck in the "lookout" area, and was terrified to come down. Not big enough for a hamster at all.We returned this item and all the other Kaytee hamster attachments with it.
Bought this for my daughter's hamster. It was very simple to put together and everything went together super easy. The hamster seems to love the outhouse because it is always up there. I would definitely recommend this for any small pet (hamster, mice, etc.) owner. All the parts were included and none were broken and we had absolutely no issues at all getting everything put together.
I bought this today from my local Petco. This is a lot of nag for your buck. My mouse loves her wheel. You must handle the connection part of the assembly carefully, I cracked the little house trying to attach it. My only complaint was the site lists this for 16.99 and my local store charged me 29.99 for the same item. This is NOT an item fault though. All in all, this is a good item and offers more to do without taking up more cage space.
I bought this because we needed an extra wheel for our second hamster cage. The wheel is nice and quite and can connect to any of the side ports or tubes that you have for the cage. The loop and hideout are also very nice!! Our hamsters love them! Hoping our daughter gets a second kit for her birthday to add to our first cage!
We ordered this to give our son's hamster extra room to play. The wheel is silent but stuff falls out of the bottom of it. We could not connect it through the top of the cage because it kept flopping from side to side and the hamster couldn't reach the tunnel. We had to switch the green elbow and blue extension for it to fit on our cage(which is a Critter Tail) and had to remove the yellow tube that went from the cage to the removable den that came with the cage. The only cover that would fit in the top portion was the bubble that sticks out and not the accessory kit has to be propped up, else it just snaps off very easily and falls over. Company is sending replacement but I really don't see this one being different, since we were not missing any parts.
