This was given to me as a Christmas gift by my in-laws, and I am absolutely obsessed with this CrockPot. The recipes are endless! I cook Chicken Parmesan, lasagna, and potato OR veggie soup in this. Those are the most common things I make, but I will find recipes for other things if I want to switch it up. If you know someone who’s about to be a new mom, this would be a nice gift! Or if you just know someone who is in need of a pressure cooker/slow cooker!

I had a hard time figuring out how to make it and ultimately just experimented. It gave me the best chicken I have ever made (compared to using an air fryer, boiling, baking, or George Foreman Grill). I only seasoned it beforehand with a little Pam olive oil spray, salt no, and black pepper. Again very basic. It came out very tender and juicy. Cooked at the perfect temperature. I'm now trying to make nonfat yogurt using milk I got on sale for $.45 at Grocery Outlet. The process was a bit of a pain in the a** tbh but it didn't appear any different than using any other similar device. I'll update my review later letting you know how it turned out. I'm almost positive I messed it up though given you needed a thermometer which I don't have (not sure if you need one for the IP), and I think I left the pot in the sink for too long. I'll be honest though, I probably wouldn't try making yogurt again unless I get the kind of milk I like real cheap. I can get 3 pounds of Fage at Costco for $7 which is worth it to me vs buying the milk I like not on sale. I don't think it's a huge money saver unless you are someone who just buys milk and yogurt at full price.

Best in its class! Very durable and user friendly!

Big in size, convenient, easy to clean
28 September 2022

Love this thing! It is BIG. Bought for my husband and I for soups, stews, roasts. Now that I am going through a divorce it is definitely an over kill for one person but still love it. Have to store it in the hall closet due to size. Have yet to master cooking with a pressure cooker. Often over estimate cooking time. Nevertheless, its great for people like me who hate cooking, or often don't think ahead for meals. I can throw something in after work and by the time I change, feed the cats and tidy up, dinner is done! Quick and easy clean up too!

It seems to be an issue more with the pan itself because this does not happen with other large sized pressure cookers that I own.I have a 14 qt in which the only problem is stirring that much food and expecting it to be mixed consistently... but no problems with food sticking.

Great pressure cooker with garbage pot.
4 April 2023

To start off, I absolutely loved this cooker. It makes amazing food. However, the inner pot is cheaply coated with some kind of a garbage Teflon ceramic coat. Within 9ish months of using it maybe once or twice a month the coating had started to flake. I've just been scouring off the flakes between uses but it's gotten to the point where it needs to be replaced. This is where the real problem arose. For the life of me I cannot find a replacement inner pot for it this unit. If it would have had an inner stainless steel pot ,like some of the competition, the problem would have been solved and this would have been a guaranteed Five Star product. Its basically garbage at this point even though it still works so I can only give it 2 stars at best.

Many functions, 1 appliance, no glass lid included

NOTE: Description says extra seals for the pressure cooker are included and glass lid is included. Old version did not show pressure build up (for pressure cooker) this newer version does, that alone was worth the upgrade but mostly I bought this for the size over anything else. There has also been an improvement to the pressure release valve for pressure cooking, hopefully it will be much less troublesome than the original version my old pot has. The six quart has a new home on another counter and will be kept free for side dishes or smaller dinner nights.I've used this item quite a lot, this and my air fryer get constant use. With the current fun happening that's making grocery costs go up I've been making large batches of stuff and freezing it (sometimes getting certain items at the store, mostly frozen stuff and some dairy products like sour cream) is becoming a challenge lately. This item does a lot, but like always when you have an item that does many things there will probably be a couple things it does less well than the rest of the functions. I've always felt that a slow cooker with a crockery (ceramic) liner works better than one with a metal liner (cook pot) and I still feel that way however you just have to get used to the idea of cooking everything on slow cook high because slow cook low doesn't work well on this product..not a big deal. When cooking rice in this monster you need to rinse it before cooking to get the starch off for fluffier rice, again not really a big deal at all. There are several cook books on Amazon specifically for the crockpot express and also available on Kindle if you have one of those. I'm sure long term I will be just as pleased with the new bigger express as I am with the 6 quart I've been using for years and now I can make larger batches of goodies. I have an instant pot as well and while I think that is a superior pressure cooker because of the way their lid secures and their pressure valve works they cost a lot more money and don't have as many functions, for most of us the crockpot express is a very useful item that can do a lot of things. The only big complaint is that the company does not sell replacement liners as of this time so far new seals and accessories like the rack for the bottom are easy to get.

Very large BUT the nonstick coating chips
18 December 2022

We have had this for three years and we like how large it is! It can cook a whole roast, double batches of chili, etc. But the problem is that the nonstick coating inside the pot started chipping right away. We NEVER use metal utensils in there, but the coating was coming off after only a few uses. This is unsafe and toxic. Please, please make a replacement stainless steel pot to go inside! I've emailed customer support about this before with no luck. I'm now going to have to throw away this working crockpot because I can't use the chipping pot and I can't buy a replacement. Sad.

Hopefully this issue will be resolved quickly. This new 10 quart Crock-Pot Express (hereinafter referred to as CPE) accommodates larger batches of food than other models. 10 quarts is a great size, and a very welcome improvement. (The maximum usable capacity of the pot is 2/3 capacity (6 - 2/3 quarts). The fill lines are permanently embossed inside the vessel. The 10 quart CPE also accommodates browning larger pieces of meat without crowding. This 10 quart version really fits the bill! (Cooking pot approximate dimensions 10”wide x 7” deep). The 10 quart CPE package includes the main cooking unit base, a removable, non-stick coated cooking pot / vessel, the cover with silicone sealing gasket, a wire steaming rack and a 7” plastic spoon. It would be nice if Crock-Pot sold the optional glass lid and replacement sealing gaskets, however they no longer sell any parts, accessories or Crock-Pots directly to consumers. It is extremely important for replacement parts such as gaskets, steam release valves and bobber valves to be sold and readily available. Crock-Pot discontinued consumer-direct sales from their website as of 9/20/2019 and these items are not sold by any retailers or websites. The Crock-Pot webstore was the only place that replacement parts and accessories were being sold. Hopefully this availability problem will be corrected before too long. This new CPE has some noteworthy improvements over the other models. Significantly, Crock-Pot has completely redesigned the Steam Release Valve mechanism for this model, which is an excellent safety improvement. All of the other models have a one-piece steam release valve which requires pushing on the ear on the valve to rotate it to the “Release” position. The new, remotely actuated steam release valve is comprised of an actuating knob and steam release valve and port that are separated from each other on the lid by approximately seven inches (internal linkage inside the lid allows the knob to remotely operate the valve), which allows your hand to be safely away from the steam release port when operating the steam release knob.Another improvement is the addition of an electronic “progress bar” to annunciate when the unit has achieved the required pressure for the pressure cooking cycle to begin. Pressure cookers take several (sometimes many) minutes to reach pressure. The LED Progress Bar sequentially illuminates five LED segments as pressure rises, until finally all five LED bars are illuminated and the pressure cooking cycle commences. This terrific appliance includes 14 preset cooking options, as well as the ability to manually select settings for time, temperature, pressure and delayed start. Control functions are selected from the electronic control panel, comprised of membrane type switches. A large, bright blue easy to read LED Display Panel informs as to the cooking mode as well as the timers. Each of the buttons has an LED above to clearly show which function is selected. The buttons have tactile feedback as well as an audible beep each time a button is depressed. The electronic control panel is very straightforward, logically organized, offers great flexibility and is easy to use without any confusion.Among the convenience features programmed into this unit are delayed start for cooking, and automatic keep-warm / hold feature when a cooking cycle finishes. The pre-programmed food specific modes are tailored to the appropriate time, temperature and pressure for the type of food and cooking method selected. Those settings can be manually adjusted to deviate from the pre-sets and fine tune to your preferences. The preset selections include: Brown/Sear; Sauté; Slow Cook; Simmer; Boil; Yogurt; Keep Warm, Meat/Poultry; Beans/Chile; Soup/Broth; Rice/Grains; Dessert; Steam and Sterilize. This multi-cooker has many uses. However, the two primary functions (in my opinion) are that of Slow Cooking and Pressure which are complemented by the other, ancillary functions which allow you to accomplish browning/searing, sautéing, steaming, slow cooking or pressure cooking in a single, versatile, pleasant to use appliance. This exemplifies true “one pot cooking”.Many recipes truly lend themselves to this appliance, and can be prepared well using either slow cooking or pressure cooking modes. Converting tougher cuts of meat (like brisket, round, chuck, etc.) and high collagen cuts (like pork butt or shoulder) into soft, tender, melt-in-your mouth deliciousness can be properly accomplished over many hours of low and slow cooking or alternatively in much less time via pressure cooking, which greatly accelerates the cooking process and has the additional benefit of infusing the cooking liquid (gravy) into the solid foods. Pressure cooking can genuinely add flavor to the foods being cooked. Steam and pressure really transform tough, chewy or fatty cuts of meat into some of the most delicious meals you’ve ever tasted. This electronic, programmable, versatile multi-cooker makes it very easy to produce fantastic dishes. All of the important parameters for the pre-set cooking modes are listed on a table in the User Manual. Although not included in the CPE User Manual, the yellow Information Sheet that is also packed with the CPE includes instructions for conducting an initial basic functional assurance test of the appliance, prior to risking a malfunction due to defect or shipping damage. It makes good sense to test the CPE before risking a full pot of ingredients. On the Information Sheet, Crock-Pot refers to this test as the “Initial Water Test – Practice With Pressure”.In about ten minutes, the basic function assurance test demonstrates that the unit will heat to proper temperature and pressure (heating unit/element and thermostat functioning properly), will properly seal for pressure (gasket/seal, bobber valve and steam release valve performing correctly), will only unlock when the safety plungers allow after complete depressurization, and that the electronic control unit, control panel buttons and LED display are working properly.Once satisfied that the unit is working properly, a user can feel much more comfortable about preparing a recipe and actually getting a properly cooked meal without risking an appliance failure and potentially wasting all of the ingredients.Of course, the real measure of how good the CPE is, is in the results when cooking a recipe. The old expression is “the proof is in the pudding”. In our case, the “proof is in the pot roast”. Our initial use of the CPE was the preparation of our favorite pot roast with vegetables. Cooking the pot roast employed the use of several CPE functions: Brown/Sear to sear the meat, Sauté for the garlic and onion, Pressure cooking the full pot of ingredients (via Manual settings for Pressure and Time), Simmer to thicken the gravy and Keep Warm. The CPE worked flawlessly, and produced a great, tender, flavorful pot roast that we enjoyed for several meals. In fact, the CPE delivered the best and most delicious pot roast that we have had in many years. My wife and I both enjoy using the CPE.The Quality of this CPE appears to be good. The unit is nicely designed. The electro-mechanical components including switches, LED display, steam release valve, etc. all functioned properly, and the CPE heated and pressurized properly. It is easy to quickly develop familiarity with the controls and functional operation of the CPE and to start cooking and enjoying the results almost immediately.Like any other non-stick cookware, the cooking vessel / pot requires appropriate care in use, handling and cleaning to prevent damage to the non-stick coating. There is always a trade off when selecting non-stick cookware. You must be more careful with them to protect the non-stick coating, but the clean-up is certainly a breeze and well worth it. The CPE cooking pot is truly non-stick and was a snap to clean. If you wash the CPE pot in the dishwasher the non-stick coating will very rapidly deteriorate and fail; the pot should really be hand-washed. The silicone rubber sealing gasket is easily removed (and replaced) to facilitate proper cleaning.Overall, we really like this CPE and have really enjoyed using it thus far. The cooking results are absolutely excellent and this multi-cooker is very versatile and is capable of producing very satisfying results whether slow-cooking, pressure-cooking, steaming etc. I hope that it will prove to be reliable and durable over the long-term, and initial impressions are favorable. The matter of availability of parts and accessories is somewhat surprising and disappointing, and I hope that Crock-Pot resolves this issue quickly so that CPE users will be able to get the parts and accessories they need and want, for both Warranty replacement and post-warranty needs, in order to continue enjoying this excellent cooking appliance in the future.Given the robust features and the large, 10 quart capacity, this new Crock-Pot Express 10 Qt. Multi-Cooker is arguably the Best of the multi-cookers! It is a great addition to our kitchen and we are enjoying it quite a lot. It exceeded our expectations, and we could hardly be more pleased with how well it functioned, and especially with how well recipes turn out! I believe that the 10 QT. Crock-Pot Express represents an excellent value.I think that anyone would really love the new 10 Qt. Crock-Pot Express, and I honestly recommend it very highly!
