Higher speed. Longer battery life. Higher storage capacity. For your next generation laptop. In a world characterized by constant technological change, components that are more than five years old must always be modernized. And at seven years old, DDR3 memory is already quite old. But laptops have much greater potential. Since the introduction of DDR3 memory technology in 2007, the capacity of processors has doubled and the throughput of SSDs and the frame rates of graphics cards have increased dramatically. The only limiting factor so far has been memory. With Crucial DDR4 SODIMMs, this bottleneck has also been overcome, so that nothing stands in the way of a new benchmark in terms of performance. More energy efficiency Increased battery life thanks to lower power consumption Crucial DDR4 SODIMMs are not operated at 1.5 V like standard DDR3 memory components, but at 1.2 V instead. This corresponds to a reduction of around 20 %. However, Crucial DDR4 SODIMMs have even more efficiency features that enable an overall reduction in power consumption of up to 40 %. Higher density Equip your laptop with more memory than ever before. Crucial DDR4 SODIMMs are available from 8GB and will feature up to 32GB as DDR4 technology evolves. This means you can equip your system with twice the memory capacity of DDR3. Laptops have a maximum of two memory slots. Crucial DDR4 high-density SODIMMs allow you to bypass this limitation and install more memory for faster mobile performance. Higher speed Load applications faster and run demanding programs without lag. Crucial DDR4 SODIMMs are available from 2133 MT/s, which is already more than 30% faster than DDR3 modules.

We splashed out and bought two of these 32GB RAM sticks for our new laptop, and it really whizzes along. 2*32GB could be viewed as extravagant, but we considered our options and decided it was worthwhile because (a) our laptop, like many others, is dual channel so both RAMs have to be the same size (or if you put a 32GB and a 8GB in together, it'll only use 8GB of the 32GB stick); (b) future proofing, as we want to be able to take our RAM with us when we upgrade in perhaps 4 years time, and 2*32GB will probably still be a useful size in 4 years time; and (c) we may as well enjoy the benefits of the 2*32GB now.Having put in 2*32GB RAM and a 2TB SSD, it means that our CPU is now usually the limiting factor for speed, but it's not a problem because it's all still ... MoreWe splashed out and bought two of these 32GB RAM sticks for our new laptop, and it really whizzes along. 2*32GB could be viewed as extravagant, but we considered our options and decided it was worthwhile because (a) our laptop, like many others, is dual channel so both RAMs have to be the same size (or if you put a 32GB and a 8GB in together, it'll only use 8GB of the 32GB stick); (b) future proofing, as we want to be able to take our RAM with us when we upgrade in perhaps 4 years time, and 2*32GB will probably still be a useful size in 4 years time; and (c) we may as well enjoy the benefits of the 2*32GB now.Having put in 2*32GB RAM and a 2TB SSD, it means that our CPU is now usually the limiting factor for speed, but it's not a problem because it's all still really fast! We don't regret buying the bigger RAMs.

Have been using two of these in my laptop, for fairly heavy-duty development work, over the last couple weeks - they work great. Not much to say - it's maybe just a smidge faster than the RAM it replaced, but much bigger which I definitely do notice. Cons are really just that the RAM is bound by physical laws and the economic realities of the world we live in.Dell claims the max for my XPS 15 9570 laptop is 32GB total, however 2x32GB=64GB and seems to work fine.

Can't go wrong with 64GB on a laptop
29 March 2022

Be it that you are a hard core gamer or a hard core video editor, you want as much memory as your system is capable of handling. My Acer Nitro 5 is used to edit video and I need every extra performance gain I can get. 64GB of ram allows me to have several programs open at once while even rendering in Adobe Premiere or Vegas Pro. The performance increase from 32GB to 64GB was noticeable as Windows 11 does not use the swap file that much it loads as much as it can into ram then does its magic.

I bought two of these to install into a Framework laptop. 64GB RAM at a very affordable price was a great decision. So far, the memory has proven to be very stable. No problems or issues.

I love how every part I buy from Crucial is custom made for MY COMPUTER!!! All I have to do is run the Crucial Tool and it immediately gives me options on not only what parts are available for upgrade, but it tells me the LIMITS of how much I can upgrade. Totally awesome!

I would buy this memory again

I changed the 32G memory in my Alienware Area 51M R2 to this 64G memory. They are the same speeds and CL timings, but many of my programs now run faster and have less lag time. Especially with a program running and streaming at the same time. I also noted a slightly faster boot time! Nice! I am very glad I did the upgrade!

This is a no brainer. Upgrade your memory to improve your computer's performance. I went from 16gb (single stick) to 50gb with both. The performance increase is amazing. You must do this!

I just upgraded the RAM to a laptop that can handle up to dual channel 64GB memory. Kept one of the original 8GB and that made a total of 40GB RAM. Installation was easy and instant. Memory module is very fast and there are no compatibility issues. Highly recommended!
