This replaced one that was glued together & leaked. It's a Cadillac of a food processor! I absolutely LOVE it! I tried the refurbished toaster first to see what condition the refurbished was. They appear brand new in every way. It has 3 chutes that come off making it easy to put in any size item, 2 bowls for large & small jobs, adjustable slicer (dial the thickness), 2 sided shredder-small & large. Only wish I bought it sooner.

About 35 years ago got a DC-7 workhorse and only a boneheaded mistake ended its life. Had to get another Cuisinart-still the best company for people who love to cook. Did much research, and decided on the Custom Core 13 cup. I also bought the small workbowl accessory. Very happy with it so far. Cuisinart made some design changes a few years ago, which were not great. Thank fully they took the responses from customers to heart and the Core Custom 13 cup is really nice. My only complaint, the cord is not the really heavy round cord form my DC-7, but it is enough to get the job done. If you get this Cuisinart, and if you get the small work bowl, keep the box and plastic insert from the small work bowl and store it in that box. One other thing to note. When you use the Pulse button, with the first push it just lights up, but second push and it is running the blade. The pulse has a very quick blade stop when you let up on the button, as does the low and high speed "on" when you hit pulse to stop the blade. You need to have all parts of the bowl and lid and blades in place and properly locked before the unit operates. Very important for safety. One hint-when you wash the VERY sharp blades, I wear a meat slicer's glove. Even though I am very careful, it is just one more protective layer between blade and skin. Looking forward to many happy choppy, shreddy, slicey years with this machine.

What a waste of money. I spent nearly $400 on this piece of junk and some accessories. All junk, expensive junk. You have to cajole this thing into turning on. You have to take the bowl and lid off and put them back on again several times in order to get it to turn on. The lights on the buttons continually flash unless you unplug it. Who is the genius that thought of that useless feature?This thing and all of the accessories are going straight into the trash. The blender doesn’t blend, it just spins things around and around. First time using my new 13 cup food processor, I made cranberry relish and was disappointed to find that MANY of the whole cranberries I was attempting to slice, got stuck ABOVE the blade between the blade & the cover still MOSTLY WHOLE - at the space around the rim, and then proceeded to circle around stuck in that position rather than being shredded by the blade and dropping into the bowl. Meanwhile, other berries dropped into the bowl mostly whole (basically not shredded). This created a big mess, because I had to repeatedly open the lid to extract the whole and mostly whole berries to reinsert through the feeder after replacing the lid once again. My last food processor was the original Cuisinart my mother purchased in the 1970s. It lasted 45 years, but finally the bowl cracked and I couldn't find a replacement anywhere.This new version is more complicated (hello better safety features), but it's doing the job. It's lighter, which is nice. I don't have high hopes it will last 45 years, I know that original motor was made by Robot Coupe, built to last. This is perfectly adequate for my home needs, though.

The shredding disk offers fine and medium shredding and there's also a blade for chopping, mixing or dough. You have 4 paddles on the base of the unit as far as speeds: Mix which allows for ingredients such as nuts to be mixed into other ingredients without getting broken up into small pieces, low, high, and pulse, which works by holding the button-down and stopping when you release the button. The pulse paddle and off paddle are the same paddle.Also included is a 10 page manual that comes in both Spanish and English. The blades are super sharp. Which should be a good thing, but now I'm thinking of buying one of those cutting gloves to save my fingers, one of which is still stinging from not properly picking up the slicing disc by its plastic hub. The designers seem to have thought of everything. But perhaps since I'm older now, and even though I read the instructions first, I had a hard time assembling, using, and disassembling it after use. So I won't really know if I bought the right one until I've used it for a few months. I wish I could have gone in person so I could pick them up and see how heavy and how far I'd have to reach if I bought the other model.I am incredibly impressed with the Core Custom so far but worried it will harder to use than I had hoped.
I love this food processor. The bowl size is perfectly sufficient. Chopped and mixing are a breeze with the motor size. I have not shredded or sliced yet. I find it easy to use and clean. I do like the interior storage but it is a bit clunky to take out and put back on. It’s a little on the heavier side but I leave mine on the counter because I use it often. You can’t beat the high quality and reasonable price.
I haven't used it enough yet for a thorough review. So far it does everything I need it to, and I love having the attachments stored inside the bowl - so no need for another box to take up counter or cupboard space. My biggest complaint is that the bowl and lid are both very difficult to rotate on or off. They're extremely stiff, and I find it very difficult to remove them and put them back in place. And the handles aren't designed well for getting a good grip. My old food processor had open handles, which made it easier to grasp them to get purchase. I guess it's possible that these will loosen up over time, but right now I'm struggling to get them to budge.
Sadly, not great. I went with a Cuisinart because my mother has one that was gifted to her as a wedding gift 50 years ago and still works great so I thought, it's a no-brainer. However, I'm a big cook and it's not very powerful compared to my Ninja. I don't love the Ninja so I thought I'd try a Cuisinart but this product's horse power is half as much as the Ninja and I definitely notice a difference. I purchased all the attachments (food dicer, smoothie blender, 4 cup preparation bowl) and was disappointed and have now returned them all. :(Overall, very large for the offered power. Next time I will splurge and spend a little more and get something maybe not name brand, but more powerful.
