Since receiving the grill it has been in use most of the time. The inter-changeable grills make this product a one-stop solution for fast turn-around high quality cooking and cleaning is very easy. Having a timer is a real bonus. We have successfully cooked Eggs, Fish, Meat, Veg and Toasties, and the size of the grills allows for good quantities. It is a little heavy and space is needed on the worktop when using it in the open position. We would also have liked a slightly longer power cord to position the grill under the oven extraction fan but an excellent product and highly recommended.

Having owned the previous version of this grill I was expecting much the same. However, I was pleasantly surprised to see some improvements on this one. The grill feels much sturdier and is a little bigger. The plates are not reversible, you get two sets. The drip tray is easier to pull in/out and the whole thing just seems more pleasing to the eye. Gone is the option for single side heat only with the dial being replaced with a timer. It still folds out flat, still hinges on the panini and can still cook steak like nothing else can. Bravo Cuisinart!

Now that the summer is finally here, I am able to switch off my Aga, knowing that I can still cook proper meals, thanks to this grill. It is large enough to cook for a family of four, and is very sturdy and versatile. The plates are easy to fit, remove and clean. When opened it is possible to use both types of plates simultaneously. However, it does take up quite a considerable space on the worktop. A good instruction manual is supplied with an interesting selection of recipes. There are two controls - one is temperature and the other is a timer only, and doesn’t switch off the grill.

Great design and easy to use, mostly. But it took a few near-disasters to realise that the temperature setting is unreliable. Using a non-contact thermometer I found the reason I nearly incinerated a few things (fillet steak, tuna, bacon) is that the cooking plates were 255C when the dial was set at 200C! This morning it was 235C when set at 150C.It is well insulated so the heat stays in the grill instead of heating the kitchen and cooks nicely if used at the right temperature.(Technically, the hysteresis is too wide and biased towards high temperatures.)
This is my second Cuisinart Grill. My previous was 10 years old, it’s still working and I have passed it on to my daughter. My new replacement is so much smarter. The finish is easier to wipe clean, the plates go in the dishwasher and the internals can be wiped easily. Making breakfast on it on a Sunday morning was a delight all cooked using this one item. It’s quick and easy, if I was to recommend one item for anyone to have in their kitchen it’s this.

This was no longer available so I looked at the Cuisinart grill and griddle, I was a bit sceptical due to the price but then I noticed there was a 5 year guarantee so looked further. When I read that the plates were removable and interchangeable I was sold! Have used a few times now and so far am very pleased. Cooked breakfast quicker due to the size, holds more than previous grill. Temperature control very useful. Brie ciabattas are heavenly as per recipe in included book. Plates easily removed and clean up easily in soapy water. Had one for years but stopped working so decided to replace with same model ! Ok but quality has deteriorated and not so sturdy. Now need to get replacement as the knob on the front broken within a month of use !
Been using electric grills for years but cleaning them was such a drag. I once hid it in the oven as I couldn't face cleaning it. Totally forgot about it turned the oven on and the electric lead melted!Hence the quest for a new grill with removable plates and ta dah! Life changing! I love my Cuisinart grill it's thoughtfully designed, looks good, cooks beautifully and is SO easy to clean!
This is the worst 'grill' I have ever had the misfortune to purchase. This product has a number of serious design flaws. Firstly the ridges on the plates are so shallow that items fry rather being grilled. This is exacerbated as there is not even the slightest rake in the lower plate meaning fat does not drain away efficiently. The plates do not actually come together properly so that thin items such as bacon are not in contact with both plates and require turning. When opened any fat from the top plate pours straight onto the work surface rather than the collection tray. This product was a massive disappointment.

It has two metal, non-stick cooking plates - one flat and one ribbed. You can use just one plate or else open it out fully by sliding a switch to use both. There is a variable temperature dial. If you want to cook food on both sides at once - e.g. sausages - you can close the lid so that the flat plate rests on top of the ribbed plate. Any fat from the grilled food drains into a well in a plastic tray, which just slides into the body of the grill. To clean it all, just unclip the metal cooking plates (having waited until they are cool!) and slide out the plastic tray.Very impressed with this grill.
