The Cuisinart Grind Central Coffee Grinder is generally well-regarded for its affordability, ease of use, and durability. While it may not offer the precision of higher-end grinders, it performs well for everyday coffee grinding needs, especially for those who aren't looking for ultra-fine or ultra-coarse grinds. It's a solid choice for the average coffee drinker who values convenience and a good balance between price and functionality.

We have for years ground our French Roast coffee beans every day into fine, powdery consistency because only then do we get the deep, robust flavor we desire. For around 20 years, we used the same coffee grinder made by Braun. It finally succumbed to old age. I intended to replace it with another Braun but it seems they are no longer available. So, because we use a large Cuisinart Coffee maker and a Cuisinart Blender, we purchased your best top of the line Cuisinart Coffee Grinder. That was a huge mistake. I filled the grinder cup to the max fill line. There were no settings for the grind consistency (course, regular, or fine) only the instruction to grind the beans longer for a fine grind. I filled the grinder cup to the max fill line. There were no settings for the grind consistency (course, regular, or fine) only the instruction to grind the beans longer for a fine grind. Your grinder stopped automatically after less than half a minute, even if I continued to depress the run tab on the front. The results were horrible, At the top the coffee was a course grind with chunks of beans while lower in the container by the blades and below the blades, stuck to the wall of the container, was some fine ground (maybe a tablespoon at best). Okay, so I used a wooden chopstick to loosen the fine powdery grind from the sides and under the blades and blended it all together, fine and course and ran it for a second time. The results were a medium to fine blend but totally unsatisfactory for brewing good, strong fully flavorful French Roast expresso like coffee. There must be a way to get this machine to produce the desired grind. I discovered that if I held the grinder while grinding, and if every five seconds or so I shook the grinder up and down , waiting another five seconds and repeated the shaking, the coffee would then mix equally. When I repeated this process for a second cycle, the grinder would then have produced an acceptable expresso grind. After using this method for several days, the grinder died. Needless to say, I am extremely disappointed with Cuisinart for designing a grinder that fails to keep the grind flowing properly through the blades and will only produce a course to regular grind as a finished product. Secondly, you used a cheap, underpowered motor which is probably the root of the problem.

This is the third one of these I've owned. We make coffee at least twice a day so our coffee grinder gets a workout. My previous one was purchased way before the pandemic, so I have no complaints. This grinder has the advantage of lifting out the part where the grounds are to dump it into the coffee maker. A big advantage over the ones that require you to lift the whole unit.Highly recommended.

The grinding bowl is removable. Compared to other blade grinders, the grind bowl is removable for easy cleaning. The machine comes with a plastic lid for the bowl so the grind coffee can be kept separate from the machine and handy to a coffeemaker. This is a nice feature. I'm happy with the grind it produces; size of ground coffee is reasonably consistent. When grinding a small quantity can spill outside of the bowl but stays within the cover. I like this grinder and would buy it again.
Will it grind your coffee beans? Sure. Will the grind be inconsistent, even when partially filled? Absolutely! Will it whine and complain when filled to a 10 oz capacity and then do a shoddy job, even when you press the button until your finger gets tired? Yes. Will you be disappointed with yourself for not paying the extra $20 to buy a better machine? Yes. But now you’re stuck with what is clearly a C- machine, and you deserve it for not reading the reviews in the first place.
This is a great little grinder. The first one I bought lasted 10 years. I replaced it with the same model but a plastic part under the blade broke while product was still under warranty. Cuisinart replaced it right away. I fully expect this new one to last a long time. It grinds coffee beans really well - I use it every day!
I received this as a gift and have used this coffee grinder a few times now, but have found it pretty underwhelming. (And, of course, now it cannot be returned.) Unrelated to the actual function of the grinder, the base seems unnecessarily large for the actual amount of coffee beans it holds up top. But the real issue is that no matter if you add a relatively small amount of beans for a single cup (pour-over, etc) or fill the entire metal canister for a pot of coffee, it results in a really uneven grind with larger pieces of coffee beans left amidst very fine grounds. And without a way to sift out the grounds that are already the size you want, you end up pulverizing everything to get all of those remaining pieces ground up for brewing. Would not recommend or buy again.
Great price. Perfect grind. Easy to use. Safe. And durable. Grinds 8-10 (strong) cups of coffee in one shot. I had this grinder for 3 years before I had to replace it. The motor/grinder actually still worked, it was just the grind cup got stuck. Probably user error for not using the twist-lock function judiciously. Regardless, bought the same one to replace it because there's no better grinder for your money.
I am now on my third Cuisinart grinder this one here is about 4 years old and I'm starting to have problems when I put the whole beans in it doesn't seem to have the pep that it used tohave the first couple years.I don't like Burr grinders and this one here from Cuisinart with the blades when it works is extremely good but again they don't seem to last that long I average about three and a half years per grinder. I grind every single day one time so I do not think I am excessive in my use of this appliance.
Used my daughters one time and was pleased with the speed that it ground beans and the grind consistency. The noise level was quieter than my Mr Coffee grinder. I also liked the clear top so you could look in and see the grind. So I bought one when I got home. This one makes a rattlling vibration noise when the grinder is stopping. It grinds fairly quietly, but the louder vibration at the end now has me holding the top to minimize that noise. It also has some coffee grounds that get out between the top of the bowl and the clear top, so I have to clean out under the bowl almost every time. A silicone seal or o-ring would probably eliminate that little messiness.Other then these minor nuisances, it is still quiter and provides a more consistent grind than the Mr. ... MoreUsed my daughters one time and was pleased with the speed that it ground beans and the grind consistency. Overall it is better, but I still expected more from Cuisinart. And there appears to be some variation from one unit to the next. My daughter's unit was quiet through out running and the slow down to stop. You could be on the phone. My new one would make me pause the call for a second or two.
