I purchased this for my second home because I use this my primary one at home and didn't want to travel with it. I use it shredding cheese, slicing pepperoni, carrots, etc. But my favorite time saving use is for scalloped potatoes. It's a game changer. I love the quickness of the machine, the easy cleanup because the parts all come apart. I do wish there was a case to keep the slicers and extra parts. If you don't cook much or don't want to spend as much money on a food processor then get a smaller one. I like the large bowl this one has and getting everything cut without having to stop and empty it every time I cut potatoes.

In 1983 I was given a Cuisinart food processor as a wedding gift. I have used it A GREAT DEAL over the past 39 years, as you can imagine. Last winter the bowl cracked and it was constantly leaking. Everything else still worked great. I was having problems replacing the bowl and it was going to cost $50 + shipping to get just a new bowl. So I bit the bullet and purchased a new one. I am just as happy with the new one as with my old processor.

This is a fragile piece of equipment. There are a few pieces on it that are integral to use and broke off after a few months because they're delicate but have pressure put on them every use. Also, because of the large feeding tube assembly, not much can actually be put through this without cutting it up first. A cucumber for example is too thick for the small feeding tube but too tall to fit in the large one once the feeding mechanism is attached. The attached assemble also makes it really difficult to clean. There's no good way to clean parts of the large pusher because they are always within the sleeve. Really disappointed with Cuisineart too. They don't stand by their products at all.

I love this food processor! It is very powerful for its size and has tackled every job I’ve thrown at it so far. (Got it as a Christmas gift) the only thing I haven’t liked so far is chopping nuts. It can do the chopping, but a good amount of them turned to powder despite how slowly I pulsed them. It is a great value for the money though and very simple to use. Only operating glitch was that I had trouble figuring out how to attach the shaft to the grating/slicing disks. The symbols for matching up were not very obvious and the instruction videos weren’t helpful.
I had to get a new processor because the replacement bowls didn't fit my circa 1980 7-cup pro and mine were worn out, leaky, etc. This version works, but just ok:*shredding and slicing disks don't work as well as the old fixed post style because there's too much space between the disk and bowl lid*the stupid, stupid feeder/pusher assembly THAT CAN'T BE TAKEN APART so it can be cleaned properlyHowever, if all you want to do is chop or puree using the flat lid, it seems like a great machine. Ask me again in a year or two, because some of the materials used on the work bowl assembly don't seem to be durable.
I don’t use it as much since it’s hard to clean inside the large pusher. I shred cabbage and all the little pieces of cabbage was stuck inside the pusher and it took a while to take it out. So I was disappointed cause I wanted to be able to use it often to shred veggies but thinking about the cleaning part makes me to not use it. Too many parts to clean too. I should have just bought a smaller food processor that doesn’t take up too much counter space.
I purchased this as a replacement for a precursor to this model from the 1980’s (I think). Once I figured out how how to use it, I was pretty happy with it’s power, but I did find some features confusing and less than satisfactory. The instructions in the manual didn’t help much.1) The feeder tube was much wider than my older model. When slicing veggies, I always like to pack them upright so that the slices are uniform (celery, peppers, etc). This wider feeder tube requires that I use more vegetables than I might need unless I cut them much shorter. With my older model the veggies could stick out of the feeder tube because the pusher was a separate piece not required for the operation of the processor. I could just position it lightly over my veggies to hold them ... MoreI purchased this as a replacement for a precursor to this model from the 1980’s (I think). This wider feeder tube requires that I use more vegetables than I might need unless I cut them much shorter. With my older model the veggies could stick out of the feeder tube because the pusher was a separate piece not required for the operation of the processor. I could just position it lightly over my veggies to hold them in place and as soon as the tops of the veggies reached the rim of the tube, I could direct the pusher into the feeder with the desired pressure. The pusher on this newer model however, must be in place before the processor will operate and it doesn’t allow for anything to be taller than the feeder tube. Also… the pusher is held in place with little plastic tabs that click into the main assembly. To release the pusher you have to press on the right tab. The tabs seem flimsy and at risk of breaking so I’m not sure it will hold up to the years of use I am accustomed to.2) The small pusher that is inside the large pusher and sleeve assembly is very small - only 2 or 3 inches in diameter…. not something I have much use for except maybe to add liquids through the small feeder tube without having to remove the entire assembly.3) There is another flat cover without a feeder tube which I assume is for mixing dough so the flour etc doesn’t spray out of any openings.4) This entire pusher assembly is not the easiest to clean because is doesn’t come apart and there are nooks and crannies that can retain food.5) There are two covers and 3 blades and no holder to store them. You can purchase a blade and disc holder but I didn’t want to pay an extra $29.99 for it.
I never felt the need to have a bigger size food processor. I bought the Cuisinart mini chopper many years ago and still use it today. Once I started making falafels and hummus, I needed a bigger size and I stuck with the same brand. Man, I should have switched sooner! So much easier, less chopping time. What I love most about this processor is how quiet it is.
Only needed a work bowl for my functioning food processor. Customer service couldn't figure our what might be the model number so i cancelled orderCuisinart charged my cc account and sent wrong size work bowlPurchased a new machine from Amazon just to get correct sized work bowl!!!Then i called Cuisinart to order a bowl with serial number and customer service said we don't make that kind of good processor! And wanted to send wrong bowl backWhich fits neither old or new machine.Customer service wanted to charge postage i argued and they said keep it!!!
This is the contemporary version of the original Cuisinart food processor. It's fairly heavy, yes, which means that you're getting a quality, powerful motor that is strong enough to process food ingredients with ease and gusto. No unnecessary bells and whistles; just a simple and easy to use kitchen tool. I use my processor to make pesto, hummus and other dips, falafel mix and myriad other prep tasks. The 7-cup capacity is more than ample for most jobs, and, for jobs where larger capacity is needed, you can work in batches (or, consider buying the 11-cup sized "Classic" processor, the big sibling to this model). No home kitchen is complete without this processor sitting on its counter.
