I use these tongs not as kitchen utensils but for reaching and holding things that I cannot reach from my wheelchair. The rubber ends help to grip items so they do not fall. My last pair had rubber at the handle end which made them more comfortable to hold otherwise I would have given them 5 stars

Locking mechanism is great! However, the heads are pretty stiff/inflexible, and can scratch up your non-stick cookware (they're more like hard plastic than the softer silicone that I was expecting). Would happily use these on my metal or cast iron pans, etc., but I'm avoiding them with my non-stick items as they will scratch them.

I've tried several tongs for non-stick pans and been disappointed with all of them as they are so difficult to turn food with / to open and close, including another pricey one from Lakeland. This one is definitely the best I've tried and I'm very happy with it.

Used with gas barbecue (not near naked flame). Like locking mechanism as space is a premium. Easy to use and clean.
Came home after nearly three months in hospital to find equipment had been disposed of - think the family didn't think I would come home! Needed tongs to remove hot cooking from Airfryer to place on plate. These are, in fact, better than my old ones; I love the fitting that opens and closes them . . . . No more burnt hands and arms or throwing very hot bread rolls from hand to hand!!!

I have a lot of good kitchen pots and pans and always try to keep the surfaces as good as new. Most tongs are stainless steel which can scratch surfaces. The silicone locking tongs has become my favorite utensil to use. Very well made and perfect for my needs and fits perfectly when locked into my utensil container. Most probably will buy the longer size soon.
The reason why I purchased them is I have an old pair. They have lasted much longer then other brands with a carbon steel springHope these last as long
