Died 4 months outside warranty

Purchased in July 2017 and it's just died (November 2019) so of course it's now outside its 2 year warranty. I know that this is an entry level model and also aware that these devices contain batteries and so will not last forever, but I think it would be reasonable to expect a usable life of more than 4 months past it's warranty period. Will be considering an alternative brand for the replacement.

Great little unit that does what I need

I bought this unit a few months ago to fill a gap between the GRID and my Tesla Powerwall. Over the summer we had multiple blackouts, from a few minutes to a few hours, and never once lost network or wifi or ability to work on my computer / monitor. The gap I needed to fill was the 5 - 15 seconds between the grid dropping and the Tesla kicking in.This little, plug and play unit, was exactly what I needed and I am completely happy with the choice, especially at the price point!

I expected this to last more than 3 years...

bought this in Nov 2016, took it back to office works who advised that its out of warranty and to buy a new one... come on, I was using this for my security cameras in case my home electricity goes out. I don't even know how long ago it stopped working. Had police officers knock on our door to see footage of a crime since my cameras where aimed in that direction. Cameras or the DVR where not working. Super upset about it.

Its a UPS, but someone is confused...
30 July 2020

Bought this to keep power to a basic camera system, it works but part of the reason for buying it was this line on the officeworks page."The configurable alarm allows users to switch the audible alarm on or off when UPS is on battery mode to avoid any disturbance."I can't find any way to do this so either Officeworks or CyberPower got this wrong. Device is useless with its forever chrip it does on power out and seems to never return to power on automatically so it screams forever...

Not suitable for computers or servers
7 September 2019

I bought this a month ago and took it straight back because it does not meet all of the requirements to call it a UPS.This is battery powered inverter and does not communicate to the computer so there is no warning that mains power has stopped, therefore your computer will not shut down gracefully. It is only "useful" if you are near the computer all of the time.I would only use this device to power LED emergency lighting.

Only lasted 26 months (warranty is 24 months)
14 April 2023

It only lasted 26 months. The manufacturers probably think this is perfect. But I'll be looking for another brand in future.

5 January 2022

Really disappointing... Not one to write poor reviews (only good ones), purchased July 2019 and died in December 2021...just outside of the warranty period. Only devices plugged in were was the router and little nbn black box throughout this time...

Unit has a humming sound when operating
12 August 2022

This unit seems to work ok, only had it for one day. It is located in the bedroom near the bed to power back up devices, but it is too loud as it hums through the night when trying to sleep. Is this normal? If so I will need to take it back for a refund.

Works but dies too soon (twice)
5 July 2022

This is the second one of these UPS's that I have bought and that has failed on me soon outside the warranty period of 2 years but within 2.5 years of purchase. Officeworks gave me a voucher for half the value of a new one to replace the first one that failed, saying as I recall that these batteries may not last much longer than 2 years, and that perhaps environmental factors contributed to the failure - so, after giving them the benefit of the doubt I got another one, and made sure the new one had more air circulation available (including under it), and checking periodically that it wasn't getting hot. However, I got exactly the same result - another failure. I realise that these UPS may not last for ever however this is really disappointing, I would have thought ... MoreThis is the second one of these UPS's that I have bought and that has failed on me soon outside the warranty period of 2 years but within 2.5 years of purchase. Works fine but it runs HOT
14 March 2022

I bought this to keep my NBN modem and NAS alive during brief power outages. It works well for this task. But it runs very warm, worryingly warm. And the beeping is annoying, even after double-tapping the power button. If I was to buy again I would try and find a UPS that doesn't run so hot.
