There are countless reviews describing how bad this game is and how poor the launch of it was, so I won't go into that here so much. Overall, I had a good, positive experience putting in 70+ hours into the story and side quests. Overall, I would recommend this game for the story and unique open world.I played this at launch on a PS4. Many people said the game was unplayable on current gen consoles. Yes, I did experience many a crash, too many in fact. I would lose 10-20 minutes of progress because the game would crash. NPCs would glitch and pose in strange positions. Even with all the bugs and distractions, I was still versed in the game, in the world of Night City. In my biased opinion, this is an excellent game, the story is fantastic, the voice acting is amazing, the graphics are incredible, all of the above. Even with the problems, I thoroughly enjoyed this game. Witcher 3 is one of my favorite games of all time. I had faith in this company and I understand that may be misguided at this point. However, I tried to enjoy the game for the story and the ambition, and I ignored the fact that this game shouldn't have come out yet, at least not on current gen consoles.I have not played this game since early 2021. I know a lot has been updated, fixed and changed. I am confident this game is even better than it was at launch. The horrible launch this game had cannot be ignored and I understand how that sour taste will linger for most players. Once they come out with more patches, updates and expansions, I will be sure to pick this game up again - but on PC. This game really shouldn't have been made for current gen. BUT with that being said, I still thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

I own the base PS4 and I can safely say this game is still worth your hard earned bucks. Does it crash to a blue screen, occassionaly so save often. Is there tons of graphical issues like slow loading textures, weird pop in, NPC doing weird stuff, lagging and freezing, yes those issues still exist. However, this game is AWESOME, the story GREAT, voice acting GREAT, narrative GREAT, the side missions and quest missions GREAT and MEMORABLE, You loot and shoot, the city is incredible, it's so vast and the attention to detail is exceptional. Looting and crafting is so deep. The missions are so much fun and really stick with you. The brain dance missions are some of the most original gameplay I have experienced in an open world game. There are so many cool types of weapons and guns, there are even some unique melee weapons to be found if you are looking, my advice search every room with a fine toothed comb. The in game NPCs are really fleshed out, have great personalities and dialouge. They really help pull you into the city's lore and character. IMO, I don't care what anyone thinks, the one player adventure of this game absolutely destroys GTA V and comes close to dethroning Skyrim. The missions and story crush the stupidity of GTA V, sorry not sorry. This is a great game, warts in all. JUst buy it!!!

I got this on sale for $10, and it was definitely worth that. I'd also say it's definitely not worth full price. So it's up to you to decide where in between that it falls for you. I played this months after release, when it had had enough time to get some patches in, and I had a small but still noticeable number of bugs and glitches (for example, one woman with invisible legs in the starting area and other graphical glitches, a couple quests not progressing until I reloaded my game, a couple crashes, etc.), but nothing too horrible. The game world also felt a little empty. For example, I'd be driving through the wide-open desert at night and see a sea of taillights in the distance, but as I got closer the lights would disappear and there'd be like 2 cars on the ... MoreI got this on sale for $10, and it was definitely worth that. Things like that.As for the game itself, the main quests were great. Good story, fun missions, no complaints there. But the side quests were very hit or miss, mostly miss, being repetitive "go here, kill people, do a thing, turn in," by-the-numbers filler for the most part. Combine that with the more empty world and my recommendation would be to, unless you're a completionist, just stick to the main quests and throw in a side quest every once in a while for variety.

HUGE DISCLAIMER: DO NOT BUY FOR THE BASE PS4. The base PS4 version is still incredibly buggy and unstable to the point of being nigh unplayable. The PS4 Pro and PS5 versions are playable, however.I never bought into the Cyberpunk hype when it was announced or shown off. Ever since I was burned on Watch Dogs 1 and Destiny 1 back-to-back, I've learned that video game developers lie to make games seem to be more than they actually are. In the case of Cyberpunk, CD Project Red was making up details on the spot. The game itself is not nearly as expansive or as intricate or even as stylish as CD Project Red promised, but the end result, to borrow a quote from a sex predator, is "Skyrim with guns."Do you like Skyrim? Do you like building up your skills by actually doing them? Does the concept of having gigantic blades popping out of your arm make you feel all fuzzy inside? Then you'd probably like Cyberpunk. The thing that really made people hate Cyberpunk, though, is the fact that the game itself is incredibly buggy. The PS4 version at launch, and right now even, is super buggy. I've been playing it on my PS5 and the game has crashed over a dozens times in my 8 hours of playtime and there have been numerous audio and visual bugs that have required a restart of the game. The developers have stated that they are trying to fix the game, but right now, I can only recommend it if you're going to get it at a huge discount, like I did. $10 is not that bad of a price for a game that is currently broken, but will be fixed in the future.Overall, I can recommend it when it's on a massive sale, but I DO NOT recommend it if you're going to pay over $20 for it.
Review for PS5 Upgraded version -I skipped this game at launch for obvious reasons but decided to give to a try now that things have been patched up. To my surprise I really enjoyed it. Yes the city is still lifeless, the gunplay stiff, and there’s this huge beautiful city with not much to do in it outside of main missions and side quests. That being said I did get wrapped up in the games story and there was more choice options than I was expecting. Much like the Witcher before it the side quests have some of the better gameplay sections and have surprising twists and turns. I didn’t have any performance issues or major bugs. Things ran smooth throughout my 27 hour play through. If you can get it on the cheap I highly recommend at least trying “if you’re playing on ... MoreReview for PS5 Upgraded version -I skipped this game at launch for obvious reasons but decided to give to a try now that things have been patched up. Coming to review this game 6 months after playing it is something I don't normally do. I bought this game knowing the bugs, glitches and crashed it wash reported to, especially on PS4 and Xbox one. I was fortunate to have a PS5 to play this game on and a week after launch, I did notice the frequent crash's and bugs but 10 hours into the game I enjoyed like any other open world game. Today being Free Friday May 28 2021, this game is fixed with zero crashes and well 0 of the major bugs. It's far more of a better experience today then what it was on launch.Besides the past and present, is it worth my $80? Yes, if you want a game with 3 different paths that are completely different endings and share some gameplay in the story line, and do what ever you want like GTA 5 ... MoreComing to review this game 6 months after playing it is something I don't normally do. Yes, if you want a game with 3 different paths that are completely different endings and share some gameplay in the story line, and do what ever you want like GTA 5 (Grand Theft Auto 5) then be my guest to buy it now. Plus you get a free DLC that's coming soon and a free next gen console game upgrade too. For the terrible launch given, CD Project Red is giving alot back to is gamers. If you own a PS4, Xbox one then I must say that if you're ok with a 20 - 30 FPS (Frames Per Second) gameplay experience with slow texture loading times, then go for it but I at least recommend a PS4 Pro or Xbox One X to enjoy a way more consistent 30 FPS. For the best experience like mine, a PS5 or a Xbox series S or X is the best console experience for this game. I spent 130+ hours on this game and still enjoy it 6 months later, so join in.
I waited 7 months to submit a review. I remember when Witcher 2 and 3 came out, those games needed a lot of work, but were fantastic end results. This game was clunkier at launch, but I held faith that CDPR would come through.7 months later and still waiting. Every-time they release an update I'll jump back in just to see if it's better. They turned vibrant and dense sci-fi journey into a futuristic blade runner style game into a bunch of boring fetch quests, particularly when one of the things that made Witcher 3 standout was it's quests were fun! The combat isn't fun, on harder difficulties you get one shotted, On lower difficulties the guns make no difference, you might as well run around with Sir John P.... the whole game.B. graphically it's not impressive. For a game made a decade after GTA, and meant to mimic some of it's successes, it failed miserably. Driving isn't fun, cops are just dumb (they apparently added them late in development and never got it right). This game as a multiplayer experience would be a snooze.Hate to bring up the Witcher 3 comparison, but on the PS5 the Witcher 3 looks and feels legitimately better.Someday this game may be worth playing, but for now, 19.99 is too much to spend on it, 10$ might be worth it, but you'll have to stomach crashes, cars falling from the sky, clothing disappearing and reappearing, and Keanu Reeves, just a regular dude, with an impressive... ability to cash CDPR checks.
You know, I can forgive the buggy launch, hell I can even forgive the bugs in general. Some of my favorite games were riddled with bugs, and most of the bugs (at least on PC) were not massively game breaking for me.But you know what I can't forgive? The lies. The lies that this game was promoted and showcased as something that it is not.Meaningful Choice? There is no meaningful choices that affect the story in any way, except for the endings.Varied quests? The quests outside the main story are all similar, go into a place, shot things, steal something, leave etc.Progressive Enemy AI? The dude you are shooting at level 1 does the exact same things the dude shooting you at max level with full augmentations, except with a more inflated health bar. That being said enemies will just stand in the open waiting to be your personal bullet sponge half of the time. The other half of the time they sit in cover and never move even if you approach them.RPG Elements? There's almost no player choice outside of, kill or knockout enemies, which doesn't effect anything in the game.A complete game? Multiple things were cut from this game including an entire skill tree that still literally has the visual for it in the menu, just crossed out with static. Rushed quest lines including main story quest lines. You will have a ton of fun for the first 5 hours or so, then everything will start to feel like that same thing. And even as of today, almost a year after launch, the game is still an unfinished buggy mess. Cannot recommend, there are simply better games worth your time.
It's safe to safe Cyberpunk 2077 launched to a very, very rough start. Tons of glitches and performance issues. It shouldn't have been on base Xbox one or PS4 consoles. With new updates, it finally is the polished game everyone anticipated. Even moreso on Xbox Series X and PS5. At the price point it is at now, it's an absolute steal with a ton of gameplay value and customization. Set in a very real-like world, all of your choices have an impact on the story and characters around you. The cyberpunk feel adds a ton of characater. The character you envision is exactly the character you can be and make. Well worth purchasing now
What to say about Cyberpunk 2077 what hasn't been said before? The characters, the story, the setting, the world are excellent. It's a shame that the developers didn't take the time to actually finish developing the game, and are still playing catch-up even a whole year later. My personal experience post Patch 1.3 is below:I am personally playing this on a PS5, and because of that haven't experienced many bugs. And the bugs that I did experience were extremely minor, and did not affect the overall enjoyment of the game. However, the bugs that I did experience were so obvious, that anyone who plays this for any amount of time will notice them. PS4 Pro might be doable, but be wary. Everyone else should wait until the game is finished, or just stay away completely.I wish CDPR had given Cyberpunk 2077 a lot more development time, because this game deserves better.
