The quality of the handle and head is very good. It has the benefits of being lightweight like an axe and the splitting angles of a block splitter. The only downside is that there is no handle protector near the head. If you are accurate with your swings it will last a long time.

Its lasted 30 hits, less than 20 minutes work. Handle has cracked and the edge has broken off.
I purchased this about a year ago for splitting kindling for my pizza oven, and I've been using it recently to split eucalyptus rounds from a tree removal. Great job so far and I would purchase another.
