I bought one of these based on other reviews. However, despite putting my whole weight onto it, it didn't even look like cutting the grass. Resorted to a good old spade which was far more effective. Save your money.

I was a bit sceptical about whether this tool was what I needed to renovate an overgrown and messy grass driveway centre. Turned out it was perfect for the job - and turned an ugly, first impression driveway into a neat and attractive centrepiece. Very happy!

After trying a few different things including a cordless motorised edger for $299 purchased on the same day I reluctantly forked out *another* $40 - but it did the trick. I was attacking both kikuyu and buffalo grasses that had overgrown and matted a foot into conrete paths and even over buried service boxes - previous tennants did not believe in edging, only lawn mowing.I was aprehensive to spend *further* cash together with vast amounts of energy for yeg more heartache. Shouldn't have worried, this thing more than proved it's worth. No disrespect to a reviewer here that had me worried it wouldn't work but I think perhaps they weren't using it right. Firstly, it helps that I put my 130kg on it, but really I didn't have to use full force. Firstly, it helps that I put my 130kg on it, but really I didn't have to use full force. For me the trick is to use it tight against your concrete edge, and start off on an angle and use a rocking motion on the blade, hence why it is the shape it is..Against a hard edge, it works lile scissors. I was all prepared for sharpening it up a bit but didn't need to.. One last thing, if you find it difficult you could also give the ground a bit of a soak.

Much easier then I expectedDefinitely worth it.See video and pics and the before and after.Only took 5 minutes to do about 20m as in photo's.
Picked this up today, definitely works well. Of course the first time used will be harder but future maintenance trims will be quicker n easier. This strip took about 15 minutes to trim and clean up. Approx 4m long.
I don't understand why people are raving about this, I think the product must have changed or I got a faulty one)(hard to say as this purchase was made during lockdown and I was unable to see this product or others in person). The description on the product it's self says it has a sharp serrated blade but it couldn't be further from the truth. Extraordinarily blunt, more so than a shovel. It's not about force, determining whether the product does its job well or not. You can plunge the edger into the ground and the grass just bends with it. Take the edger out and the grass remains uncut. It's too blunt!Very poor product considering its simple design.I'll definitely be expecting a refund.
I bought this ages ago and it’s well worth the money. The thing is bomb proof: you could nuke it and I’m sure it’d still be intact. Unbreakable. It cuts through turf many inches thick easily. I can edge each length of my nature strip in a few minutes by keeping my foot on it and pushing it in at an angle as I shuffle along and work it along the kerb. I don’t need a mechanical edger! Highly recommended.
I have tried several lawn edgers and they wore out with no spare parts available. So I thought I would try something simpler. It gives a sharp finish and gives me a workout at the same time. Had several Covid walkers ask me about it and I highly recommend it.
Best tool I ever bought for gardening. It made edging such a doable job for me. It cuts through the grass and dirt like a cake. Less weight and easy to use. Would definitely recommend.
Good sturdy sharp edger, nice long handle length. Works very well. Great price.
